Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2004;0(05):-
Objective To report the treatment outcome of nonunion of tibial fractures with local muscle flap transfer and injection of autogenous bone marrow. Methods 15 patients who had suffered from nonunion of tibial fracture 10 to 42 (mean 22) months after the initial injury underwent open reduction, internal fixation with locking intramedullary nail, wound coverage with locally transferred muscle flap and injection of autogenous bone marrow into the fracture site 12 to 15 days after operation. Results The follow-ups revealed bone union in all the cases of this series with a mean healing time of 22 (3 to 11) months. Except for limited necrosis of the skin edge in 2 cases which healed after dressing changes, the wounds healed primarily in all the cases without infection and implant failure. Conclusion Besides stable internal fixation and bone graft, coverage of fracture site with locally transferred muscle flap and injection of autogenous bone marrow can be used to treat nonunion of tibial fractures with satisfactory results.

Objective To explore the efficiency of endoscopic septoplasty with submucous resection for the treatment of 220 patients with deviated nasal septum and report our experience in this field. Methods From May 2006 to May 2010, 220 patients with deviated nasal septum were treated by endoscopic septoplasty with submucous resection to decompress the stress points, resect the deviated parts and implant the reshaped bone of nasal septum, while retaining the normal structure of nasal septum with minimally invasive technique. Results Satisfactory effects were achieved in all the 220 patients, showing centered septal structure and disappeared symptoms such as nasal obstruction, headache and nasal hemorrhage, but no complications including perforation of nasal septum, depressed nasal bridge and septal chalasia and flaring. Conclusion Rhino-endoscopic septoplasty with submucous resection can substantially retain the original structure of nasal septum and thus is proven to be a desirable operation with multiple advantages including minimal invasiveness, quicker healing and fewer complications.

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(01):-
A spectrophotometric method for the determination of calcium in milk, hair and urine was developed using metal complezing dye orthocresolphth-alein complexone(OCPC).The organic matter in the tested sample was destroyed by digestion. An aliquot of the digested solution was mixed with color developing reagent, alkaline OCPC, cantaining 8-quinolinol to suppress interference such as magnesium, and the absorbance was measured at 570 nm.The coefficients of variation were 0.87, 3.6 and 1.2% for milk, hair and urine samples; and the analytical recoveries of calcium from milk, hair and urine averaged 100.4, 101.0 and 98.5% respectively. The calcium content of milk and hair determined by this method was closely correlated with that of the ICP-AES method (r =0.994, p

OBJECTIVE To study the electrophysiological character of the Auditory Brainstem Response to Speech Sounds (s-ABR) in healthy adults. METHODS We assessed the auditory brainstem response to a synthesized stop-consonant speech syllable /da/ in 40 native-Chinese speech adults (20 female). Timing components of the response were compared between males and females to determine the relationship between inducing rate ,latency of waves and sex and age of participants. RESULTS The latency of wave V and A was shorter in females was that of males (Vt(38)=-3.601, P =0.001, At(38)=-2.829, P=0.007).The other peaks latency except V、A can see difference between gender but do not have statistics differences (P>0.05); The latency has no statistical difference in different age (P>0.05); The amplitude has no statistical difference in different gender and age (P>0.05). CONCLUSION The waves of s-ABR has good stability for studying mechanism of auditory speech processing tools.
