Objective To explore the effects of formaldehyde (FA) on the contents of CD3, CD4, CD8 and the activity of SOD and the contents of MDA in the spleen and thymus of mice. Methods 30 Kunming mice were randomly divided into 5 groups, 6 in each and treated with FA: the negative control group, 1 mg/m3, 3 mg/m3, 5 mg/m3 and the positive control group (treated with cyclophosphamide, CP). The mice were exposed to FA by static state inhalation in a chamber for 14 days, then the contents of CD3, CD4, CD8, MDA and the activity of SOD in the liver, spleen and thymus were determined. Objective To know the eutrophic state of Fenhe 1 reservoir. Methods The eutrophic level of Fenhe reservoir 1 was evaluated through measuring transparence,the total concentration of nitrogen(TN),phosphorus(TP),chlorophyll-a level(Chla) and the total count of the algal cells and calculating water TLI(∑). Results Water transparence in low water period was higher than that in common water period,TN concentration in low water period was higher than that in common water period,and it obviously exceeded the related standard limit in Surface Water Environment Quality Standard (GB3838—2002); TP concertration in common water period and low water period did not exceed the limit; Chla level was low;TLI(∑) in common water period and low water period was lower than 50. The total count of the algal cells was 1.67?106/L in low water period,which was much more than that(9.5?104/L) in the common water period. Conclusion Fenhe reservoir 1 is in mesotropher state.

Objective: To investigate the current status and influencing factors of knowledge, attitude, and practice of hypertension prevention and control among rural residents in Shanxi Province, so as to provide insights into implementation of health education pertaining to hypertension control in rural areas. Methods: A total of 7 403 residents were sampled using a multi-stage cluster random sampling method from rural areas of Yangqu, Daning, and Yonghe counties of Shanxi Province from November 2020 to July 2021 for face-to-face questionnaire surveys and physical examinations. Residents' basic characteristics, knowledge, attitude, and practice of hypertension prevention and control, and height, weight, blood pressure were collected, and factors affecting knowledge, attitude, and practice of hypertension prevention and control were identified using a generalized linear model. Results: A total of 7 403 questionnaires were allocated, and 7 031 effective questionnaires were recovered, with an effective response rate of 94.98%. The respondents included 3 035 men (43.17%) and 3 996 women (56.83%), and had a mean age of (58.45±13.75) years. The median scores of hypertension prevention and control knowledge, attitude and practice were 5 (interquartile range, 4), 16 (interquartile range, 5) and 14 (interquartile range, 7) points, with scoring percentages of 48.40%, 80.55% and 54.41%, respectively. Generalized linear model analysis showed that an educational level of junior high school and above, annual family income per capita of ≥4 000 RMB, family history of hypertension, development of hypertension among family members or friends, overweight/obesity and presence of depression resulted in high scores for hypertension prevention and control knowledge; annual family income per capita of ≥10 000 RMB, family history of hypertension, presence of hypertension among family members or friends, mild/severe insomnia and presence of depression resulted in high scores for hypertension prevention and control attitude, while age of ≥65 years and blood pressure of ≥140/≥90 mmHg resulted in low scores for attitude; females, age of ≥45 years, an educational level of junior high school and above, blood pressure of ≥140/≥90 mmHg, family history of hypertension, presence of hypertension among family members or friends and overweight/obesity resulted in high scores for hypertension prevention and control practice, and residents had a low body weight had a low score for practice (all P<0.05). Conclusions The hypertension prevention and control attitude is satisfactory among rural residents in Shanxi Province; however, the hypertension prevention and control knowledge and practice are poor. Health education pertaining to hypertension prevention and control should be strengthened, and personalized health education is needed targeting individuals with a low educational level and low income.

Purpose To investigate the expression and significance of androgen receptor (AR) in breast carcinoma with different ER and PR status.Methods Immunohistochemical method was used to detect AR, ER and PR expression in 173 cases of breast carcinoma, and all the cases were grouped according to: (1) AR status: AR~- positive subgroup and AR~- negative subgroup, (2) ER status: En subgroup (negative for both ER and PR), Ep subgroup (positive for ER and/or PR), (3)AR, ER and PR status: En-AR~+ subgroup (AR~- positive cases of En subgroup), En-AR~- subgroup (AR~-negative cases of En subgroup), Ep-AR~+ subgroup (AR~- positive cases of Ep subgroup), and Ep-AR~- subgroup (AR~-negative cases of Ep subgroup).En-AR~- subgroup also was called negativE-for-all subgroup, and the rest three subgroups were called partly-or-completely positive subgroup (positive for at least one of the three markers), and then, the groups were compared with clinicopathological features.Results The positive rate of AR was 62.8% (54/86) in Ep subgroup and 37.9%(33/87) in En subgroup, and there was significant difference between them (P=0.001).Compared to AR~-negative subgroup, AR~-positive subgroup had smaller tumor size, less mitosis count and lower grade(P<0.05).Compared to the other three subgroups, En-AR~- subgroup had more mitosis count and higher grade (P<0.01).In En subgroup,AR~- positive cases had less mitosis count and lower grade (P<0.05), and in Ep subgroup,AR~- positive cases had higher stage(P=0.000), but no significant difference were found among partly or completely positive subgroups.Conclusions The expression of AR may play a different role in breast carcinoma with different ER and PR status, because it indicates good prognosis in negative for both ER and PR subgroup, but bad in ER and/or PR positive subgroup. When choosing a personalized therapy, all the combinations of hormone receptor status should be considered for the patients.

Objective To investigate the effect and mechanism of boron neutron capture therapy(BNCT) in C6 glioma cell line.Methods C6 cells in exponential phase were divided into 6 groups: untreated control,(~(60)Co?)(4 Gy),~(60)Co? 8 Gy,nuclear reactor exposure without boronophenylalanine(BPA) 3 Gy,BNCT(4 Gy) and BNCT 8 Gy.Cellular morphological change was observed by an inverted microscope,light microscope,fluorescence microscope and electronic microscope.Flow cytometry was used to determine the percentage of apoptosis,necrosis and normal cells 48h after irradiation.Colony forming assay was used to calculate cell surviving fraction.Results Typical morphological changes of apoptosis were observed early after irradiation in BNCT group,with a significant increase in apoptotic rates was observed 48 h after irradiation with 63.2% and 88.3% for BNCT(4 Gy) and 8 Gy group,respectively(P

Purpose To investigate the relationship between molecular phenotype of ductal carcinoma in situ ( DCIS) and that of inva-sive ductal carcinoma ( IDC) of the breast. Methods Immunohistochemical method was used to detect ER, PR, HER-2 and CK5 ex-pression in 165 cases of breast cancer, with DCIS and IDC existed in every one of the samples. Results In the 165 cases of breast cancer, the ER, PR, HER-2 and CK5 expression of IDC was positively correlated with that of DCIS, respectively. To evaluate IDC phenotype, the number of basal phenotype was 18 (10. 9%), HER-2-overexpression 20 (12. 1%), luminal A 102 (61. 8%), lumin-al B 20 (12. 1%), null phenotype 6 (3. 6%);to evaluate DCIS phenotype, the number of basal phenotype was 19 (11. 5%), HER-2-overexpression 20 (12. 1%), luminal A 104 (63%), luminal B 17 (10. 3%), null phenotype 5 (3%). 157 cases (95. 2%) of IDC had the same phenotype with DICS, but the rest 8 cases (4. 8%) not, three cases of luminal A DCIS transformed into one HER-2-overexpression and two null phenotype IDC, three of HER-2-overexpression DCIS transformed into luminal B IDC, one null pheno-type DCIS transformed into one luminal A IDC, and one basal phenotype DCIS transformed to HER-2-overexpression IDC. Conclusion Most of IDC have the same phenotype with DCIS, but there exist small part of DCIS which could transform into other phenotype IDC.

Objective To investigate the role of circular RNA (circRNA) in the occurrence of psoriasis.Methods Mesenchymal stem cells were isolated from skin lesions of 15 patients with psoriasis (psoriasis group) and skin tissues of 15 healthy human controls (control group) separately,and then subjected to cultivation.Flow cytometry and cell differentiation assay were performed to identify these mesenchymal stem cells.RNA sequencing was conducted to measure the expression of circRNA,and detailed bioinformatics analysis was performed.Then,7 differentially expressed circRNAs were selected,and a circRNA-microRNA interaction network was established.In this network,3 related microRNAs were selected and validated by real-time quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR).Statistical analysis was carried out by a two-sample t-test for comparison of qRT-PCR results between the psoriasis group and control group.Results As RNA sequencing showed,a total of 6 323 circRNAs were identified,and 3 227 out of these circRNAs were first reported in this study.Compared with the control group,129 circRNAs were differentially expressed in the psoriasis group,including 123 up-regulated circRNAs and 6 down-regulated circRNAs.The predicted circRNA-microRNA interaction network showed that several psoriasis-related microRNAs were associated with the 7 circRNAs,such as miR-17-5p,miR-30e-5p,miR-142-3p/5p,miR-369-3p,miR-184,miR-4490,miR-654-3p and miR-423-5p.qRT-PCR also confirmed that the 7 differentially expressed circRNAs were up-regulated in the psoriasis group.Compared with the control group,the expression of the 3 selected microRNAs significantly decreased in the psoriasis group (t =3.993,3.217,2.918,respectively,all P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion There is aberrant expression of circular RNAs in the mesenchymal stem cells from psoriatic skin lesions,which may take part in the occurrence of psoriasis.

Objective:To investigate the pathogenic distribution of benign infantile convulsions with mild gastroenteritis(BICE)and explore the relevance of serum cytokines and BICE.Methods:Eighty BICE infants admitted in Inner Mongolia Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2017 to December 2019 were selected as BICE group, and 80 mild gastroenteritis infants without convulsion attack were selected as control group during the same period.Fluorometric real-time PCR was used to detect the pathogen of enterovirus.Serum cytokines including interleukin(IL)-6, tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α, IL-8 and soluble interleukin-2 receptor(SIL-2R)were detected by using chemiluminescence method.The relevance of frequency and duration of convulsion in infants with BICE and the indicators above were analyzed.Results:Rotavirus infection was the main cause of BICE during the study period in this region.Among 80 cases in the BICE group, rotavirus positive infants accounted for 38.8%(31/80) and norovirus positive infants accounted for 10.0%(8/80). The levels of IL-6, IL-8 and SIL-2R in the BICE group were prominently higher than those in the control group( P<0.05); the difference of TNF-α level between two groups had no statistical significance( P>0.05). The levels of IL-6, TNF -α, IL-8, SIL-2R in the group with convulsion attack times ≥ 2 and convulsion duration ≥5 min were higher than those in the group with convulsion attack times<2 and convulsion duration<5 min( P<0.05). The frequency and duration of convulsions were positively correlated with the levels of IL-6, TNF -α, IL-8 and SIL-2R( P<0.05). Conclusion:Rotavirus is the main pathogen of BICE in this region.There is immunologic imbalance in children with BICE, especially the changes of IL-6 and SIL-2R levels, which may provide effective cytological and experimental data evidence for judging progression and prognosis of the disease.

To investigate the therapeutic effect and influence of quercetin and allopurinol on the function of liver and kidney in hyperuricemic rats, male SD rats were administered with the drugs by oral gavage once a day for seven consecutive days throughout the experiment. On the fifth day, the animal model of hyperuricemia was set up by hypoxanthine intraperitoneal injection. The serum was used for assaying the uric acid(UA), alanine aminotransferase(ALT), aspartate aminotransferase(AST), total bilirubin(TBIL), direct bilirubin(DBIL), β2-microglobulin(β2-MG), serum cystatin C(Cys-C), urea nitrogen(Urea)and serum creatinine(Cr)with colorimetry, continuous monitoring, chemical oxidation and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The results showed that quercetin had no effect on the uric acid levels of serum, and that allopurinol reduced uric acid levels in rats significantly(P< 0. 01). The serum levels of AST and ALT in rats substantially decreased compared with normal control group(P< 0. 01), while no significant differences were found in TBIL, and DBIL. Compared with normal control group, β2-MG and Cys-C levels were significantly increased in the other five groups(P< 0. 01), serum levels of Urea and Cr were significantly higher in the allopurinol group compared to the normal control group(P< 0. 01). Modeling and administration group showed mild histopathological changes in rat kidney. The results clearly demonstrated that quercetin had no effect on the uric acid levels of serum, and allopurinol lowered uric acid significantly. There was no significant effect on the function of liver by modeling and administration, however, there was potential impaiment of renal function after modeling. Quercetin did not exhibit a protective effect on renal injury and administration with allopurinol increased kidney damage.
