Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 1981;0(03):-
One hundred fifteen surgical specimens were studied by gram-stain, aerobic and anaerobic cultu- res, as well as gas chromatography, respectively. One hundred seventy six strains, including ninety five aerobic and eighty one anaerobic strains, were isolated. The results suggested that diagnosis of anaerobic bacteria by gas chromatography could be accomplished within 1 h. The specificity of this method was 98.11% and the sensitivity, 90.47%. In addition, the early identification of anaerobic bacteria could be made also. There is higher value for rapid diagnosis of anaerobic infection with gas chromatography.
2.Correlation between serum uric acid level and heart failure severity in patients with chronic pulmonary heart disease
Chinese Journal of cardiovascular Rehabilitation Medicine 2017;26(2):135-138
Objective: To explore correlation between serum uric acid (UA) level and heart failure severity in patients with chronic pulmonary heart disease (CPHD).Methods:According to New York Heart Association (NYHA) cardiac function classification, a total of 98 CPHD patients were divided into class I~II group (n=36), class III group (n=31) and class IV group (n=31).Another 30 healthy subjects were enrolled as healthy control group simultaneously.Serum UA level was measured in all groups.Real time three-dimensional color Doppler echocardiography was used to measure left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and left ventricular end-diastolic dimension (LVEDd), and the results were compared among all groups. Results: Compared with healthy control group, there were significant rise in serum UA level[(342.4±101.7) μmol/L vs.(459.6±110.3) μmol/L]and incidence rate of hyperuricemia (33.33% vs.58.16%) in CPHD group, P<0.05 both;along with NYHA class increased, there were significant rise in serum UA level[(350.7±103.4) μmol/L vs.(422.3±106.7) μmol/L vs.(491.8±113.2) μmol/L], LVEDd [(59.2±10.1)mm vs.(64.3±9.8)mm vs.(68.9±10.6)mm], and significant reduction in LVEF[(37.7±9.8)% vs.(31.9±8.6)% vs.(28.4±8.1)%]in CPHD patients, P<0.05 all;linear correlation analysis indicated that serum UA level was significant positively correlated with LVEDd (r=0.67, P=0.026), and significant inversely correlated with LVEF (r=-0.86, P=0.033).Conclusion: Serum uric acid level can be used as a reliable index evaluating heart failure severity in patients with chronic pulmonary heart disease.

7.Acupuncture and tuina clinical thoughts of "treating the back from abdomen" for low back pain.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2015;35(7):715-717
In clinical treatment, it is found that certain patients always have some positive reaction points those are relevant with low back pain in the abdomen area. When the simple treatment on the low back is ineffective, the efficacy could be significantly improved if acupuncture or tuina is performed at the abdomen areas, which is called "regulating yin to treat yang", or "treating the back from abdomen". In this paper, with the diagnosis and treatment method of "treating the back from abdomen" for low back pain as principal line, the detailed manipulation is explained for low back pain that is induced by TCM meridian diseases or modern anatomy, which could open the methods for clinical treatment of low back pain and enrich the therapeutic options.

8.Progress on exosomal transmission of microRNAs in cancer research
Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2016;43(10):442-445
Exosomes are cell-derived vesicles that contain protein and RNA from the same source and function. The vesicle has a diam-eter between 30 and 100 nm. Exosomes are the natural carriers and have been recently used as drug delivery system for cancer treat-ment. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) function in RNA silencing and regulation of gene expression. They can exist as intracellular and extracellu-lar miRNAs. Extracellular miRNAs can function as secreted signaling molecules that affect receptor cell phenotype. They can also re-flect molecular changes in donor cells. Therefore, extracellular miRNAs can be potentially used for diagnosis and therapeutics. Studies show that the volume of exosomes in cancer patients' blood is higher than that in normal controls. The ability to package cancer-relat-ed miRNAs is a biological function of exosomes. In conclusion, specific miRNAs transferred by exosomes may play an important role in the pathogenesis of tumor or cancer. This paper presents a summary of research on exosomes as the carrier of miRNAs in the develop-ment and treatment of cancer.
9.Curcumin prevents against osteoarthritis
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(2):277-282
BACKGROUND:Curcumin is proved to possess anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-apoptotic roles. OBJECTIVE: To summarize and discuss the mechanisms and effects of curcumin used for the treatment of osteoarthritis METHODS: PubMed, Embase, Elseveir databases were retrieved for relevant articles published from 1973 to 2014, with the key words of “osteoarthritis, curcumin, chondrocyte, articular cartilage” in English. After the quality of the included studies was evaluated, valid data were extracted and analyzed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Curcumin prevents the occurrence and development osteoarthritis by inhibiting oxidative enzyme and scavenging free radicals. Curcumin increases production of colagen type 2 through suppressing the reduction of cartilage matrix by matrix metaloproteinases. Anti-inflammatory reaction of curcumin can be achieved by inhibiting cytosolic phospholipase A2, cyclooxygenase-2, and 5-lipoxygenase. Curcumin inhibits interleukin-1β-induced apoptosis of chondrocytes and mitochondrial sweling. Results from clinical trials suggest that curcumin or its derivatives can reduce joint pain and improve the function of knee joints in patients with osteoarthritis. High-concentration curcuminin vitro have been demonstrated toxic effects.
10.Timed morphological changes of human hepatocytes L-02 cultured at high density by the support of spherical porous chitosan microcarriers
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(12):1924-1930
Abstract BACKGROUND: Recently, microcarrier culture as a high concentration cel culture technology has been used in hepatocyte culturein vitro. OBJECTIVE:To periodicaly observe the morphological changes of human hepatocyte L-02 cultured by the spherical porous chitosan microcarrier. METHODS:The self-made spherical porous chitosan microcarrier sample as a support to culture human hepatocytes L-02 acted as experimental group; non-spherical porous chitosan microcarrier as a support to culture human hepatocytes L-02 as control group. Cels in two groups underwent cel count at regular time, and the morphological changes were observed in the experimental group, including inverted phase contrast biological microscope observation and scanning electron microscope observation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The quantity of cultured cels in the two groups was increased in the first 3 days and reached the peak at the 3rd day. The cel quantity in the experiment group was obviously higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the three samples of the experimental group (P > 0.05). The quantity of hepatocytes adhered to the microcarrier surface was gradualy increased in the former 3 days under the inverted phase contrast biological microscope. There were lots of cel clusters on the surface of a greater part of microcarriers, with the total survival rate of more than 90%, and hepatocytes kept a good morphological structure. Under the scanning electron microscope, lots of hepatocytes adhered tightly to each other on the surface and section of microcarrier as wel as inside the microcarrier. It is indicated that the self-made spherical porous chitosan microcarrier as a support in three-dimensional environment can undergo cel culture with high concentration.
