Light cannot be propagated within the range of photonic crystal band gaps. Based on this unique property, we proposed a method to improve anti-radiation capability through one-dimensional photonic crystal coating. Using transmission matrix method, we determined the appropriate dielectric materials, thickness and periodic numbers of photonic crystals through Matlab programming simulation. Then, compound one-dimensional photonic crystal coating was designed which was of high anti-radiation rate within the range of X-ray. As is shown through simulation experiments, the reflection rate against X-ray was higher than 90 percent, and the desired anti-radiation effect was achieved. Thus, this method is able to help solve the technical problems facing the inorganic lead glass such as thickness, weightiness, costliness, high lead equivalent, low transparency and high cost. This method has won China's national invention patent approval, and the patent number is 201220228549.2.

Objective To investigate the correlation of spiral CT(SCT)features with pathology, microvessel density(MVD)、expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)、matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2)in colorectal carcinoma. Methods Forty patients with colorectal carcinoma confirmed by operation were examined by SCT.The resected tumor specimens were immunohistochemically stained for the expression of VEGF,MMP-2 and the calculation of MVD.Results The accuracy of SCT in depicting the pericolic and wall infiltration was 92.5%.The metastasis rates of colorectal cancer with pericolic infiltration and wall infiltration were 75.0% and 33.3%,respectively,the differences were statistically significant between the two groups(P

Chinese Journal of cardiovascular Rehabilitation Medicine 2015;24(1):16-20
Objective:To explore the correlation between serum cystatin C (Cys C)content and renal function in aged patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).Methods:Clinical data of 237 aged BPH patients were retro-spectively analyzed.According to international prostate symptom score (IPSS),they were divided into mild group (n=25),moderate group (n=67)and severe group (n= 145);another 110 patients without prostatic hyperplasia were enrolled as normal control group in the same period.Levels of serum Cys C,blood urea nitrogen (BUN),ser-um creatinine (Scr),fasting blood glucose (FBG),blood lipids and prostate-specific antigen (PSA)were measured in all groups, and prostate volume (PV)was calculated. Results:Compared with normal control group,PV signifi-cantly rose [(18.94±4.62)ml vs.(40.09±12.72)ml],maximum urinary flow rate (Qmax)significantly reduced [(18.67±4.60)ml/s vs.(9.93±3.54)ml/s],and serum Cys C level significantly increased [(1.03±0.23)mg/L vs.(1.53±0.61)mg/L]in BPH group,P <0.01 all.Subgroup analysis indicated that serum Cys C levels in mild, moderate and severe group [(1.32±0.45)mg/L,(1.42±0.32)mg/L,(1.61 ±0.64)mg/L]were significantly higher than that of normal control group,P <0.01 all;and that of severe group was significantly higher than those of mild group and moderate group (P <0.01 or P <0.05).Pearson correlation analysis indicated that serum Cys C level was positively correlated with of age,SBP,DBP,FBG,BUN,Scr,PV and IPSS (r=0.179~0.580,P <0.05 or P <0.01),and inversely correlated with Qmax (r=-0.243,P <0.05)in BPH patients. Conclusion:Serum Cys C level significantly rise, and related with BPH degree, correlated with renal function in aged BPH patients, which can be used to predict renal function of these patients.

Objective To investigate the localization and the morphological changes of manchette during mouse spermiogenesis. Methods Immunofluorescence staining with FITC and costaining with DAPI were used to demonstrate the cellular localization of the manchette at different stages during mouse spermiogenesis. The structural changes of the manchette were observed during the maturing of the spermatid. Results Immunofluorescence staining showed that manchette existed exactly around the nuclei of the spermatids.Manchette began to form, when the shape of the nucleus changed from spherical to slightly elongated. While the nucleus of the spermatids condensed and elongated at later stages, manchette moved gradually to the caudal position of the spermatids. At last, the manchette diminished as the spermatids became mature.During mouse spermiogenesis, manchette underwent a transition from a cap-like to a tubular configuration.ConclusionThe formation and diminishment of the manchette is in step with the condensation and elongation of the nucleus of the spermatid. Both the structural and positional changes of the manchette coincide with the changes of the nucleus. These results imply that manchette might play an important role in mouse spermiogenesis.

Objective To investigate the bilateral flow-mediated dilation of brachial artery (BA-FMD) and nitroglycerin mediated dilation (BA-NMD) in patients with cerebral infarct, and to find out if the vasodilation of internal catotid artery after sublingual administration of nitroglycerin can be detected as a more direct way to reflect the vasodilation in patients with cerebral vascular diseases. Methods High resolution ultrasonic system was used to measure 13 patients with acute cerebral infarction. The diameter of brachial artery, internal carotid artery and common carotid artery was measured at relaxation, reactive congestion in the brachial artery and after sublingual administration of nitroglycerin. Meanwhile, the intima media thickness (IMT) and plaques of carotid artery was detected. Results Paralysis did not lead to differences in vasodilation of brachial artery (r=0.52, P=0.07). There was a correlation between ICA-NMD and BA-NMD (r=0.83, P=0.01). Conclusion There were no significant differences between brachial vasodilation in paretic and non-paretic limbs of patients with acute cerebral infarction. Ultrasonic measurement of ICA-NMD can be a more direct measure of the vasodilation of patients with cerebral infarction.

Object To develop an improved RP-HPLC method for determining ferulic acid in the human serum. Methods The determination was carried on RP-HPLC, using Kromasil-C 18column, methanol-water-acetic acid (36.4∶63∶0.6) as mobile phase with a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min and at the detection wavelength of 322 nm, and p-hydroxybenzaldehyde was used as internal standard. The serum sample was deproteinized with acetonitrile to extract ferulic acid. Results The calibration curve showed good linearity over the range of 9.94-159.04 ng/mL (r=0.992 5). RSD was less than 10% within day and day-to-day, the average recovery was 99.77% and the minimal concentration in serum was 5 ng/mL. Conclusion This method, which is simple, rapid, sensitive, reproducible and low toxic, is appropriate for the quantitative determination of ferulic acid in the human serum.
