1.Application in diagnosis of primary glaucoma by macular ganglion cell complex thickness measurement with spectral-domain OCT
International Eye Science 2016;16(11):2039-2043
Glaucoma is a group of irreversible blind eye diseases with specific optic nerve damage and visual field defect. Early diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma is vital for prognosis, but difficult in clinical practice. Macular ganglion cell complex thickness(mGCC) consists of the inner three layers of retina:retinal nerve fiber, ganglion cell and inner plexiform layers, which is glaucoma target tissue so to be measured the thickness of the mGCC as better indicator for early diagnosis in glaucoma. Optical coherence tomography ( OCT ) is a non-contact, good repeatability technique to obtain fast high- resolution images from the anterior and posterior segments of the eye, and it has been widely used in ophthalmology. Spectral- domain ( SD ) OCT allows a higher image resolution and can measure the thickness of mGCC thickness, providing new parameters for the early diagnosis of glaucoma.

Studying the essence of syndromes (Zheng) in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a fundamental challenge in basic theoretical research of TCM. The relationship between any given syndrome and biochemical indicators is one of the important aspects of the study. As the indexes selected in each study are specific to a particular Western medical disease diagnosis, and the disease factor is inevitably introduced into the study, the effect of disease factor on the index changes cannot be assessed effectively by traditional data processing methods. This is known as "the same syndrome with different reasons", which has resulted in confusion in TCM research. This study aimed at providing a mathematical tool to address this issue. Based on information theory and the residual-split method, the syndrome information, which was covered in the index variation, was quantitatively calculated in this paper as an independent part of the disease factor. A mathematical model capable of objectively assessing and statistically testing the effect of the syndrome factor on the index changes was established. Applying this model to literature data of studies on the relationship between cyclic nucleotides and yang-deficiency syndrome showed following results. First, the values of yang-deficiency syndrome information were negative for cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) while positive for cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in all included literature. This indicated that the group of yang-deficiency syndrome was correlated with an obvious trend of reduced cAMP levels and increased cGMP levels. Second, the statistical test results of yang-deficiency syndrome information of the two indexes were different among the literature included. The quality of original data was considered as a possible reason. Third, the significant differences between the yang-deficiency group of a specific disease and the normal group may, in some cases, be caused by a disease factor rather than a syndrome factor. The mathematical model provided a reasonable mathematical tool for the analysis of disease factor and syndrome factor in clinical research of TCM, suggesting that the mathematical model may give rise to innovative ideas and methods in the study of syndromes.

This article,in view of the research status and development tendency of hospital core competence, introduced the index selection process and constructed the evaluation index system of core competence. This system comprises 3 level-1 indexes (social reputation, hospital health resources and development potential)and 9 level-2 indexes, with recommendations on improvements of the existing system.

The properties of Chinese materia medica are believed to be the summarization of the effects of biological performance on the various body states. Systemic discussion of chemical-factor elements, body-condition elements, biological-performance elements and their interrelationships is needed for research into the properties of Chinese materia medica. Following the practical characteristics of Chinese medicine, the three-element mathematical model was formed by introducing some mathematical concepts and methods and was used to study the cold or hot property of Chinese medicine, and to investigate the difference in biological performances of the two properties.
7.Advances in research on sperm chromosomes in male infertility.
National Journal of Andrology 2005;11(12):941-943
Many factors can result in male infertility, and a number of studies have indicated that reproductive difficulties are associated intimately with cytogenetic abnormalities. This article reviews studies on sperm chromosomes in infertile men and discusses the relationship between sperm chromosome abnormality and male infertility.

Objective Trichophyton rubrum strains can cause superficial infection and also deep tissue infection, but relevant animal model has not been reported yet.The aim of this study was to construct an animal model of granuloma infected by T.rubrum. Methods Three T.rubrum strains isolated from clinical granuloma tissues, 2 T.rubrum strains isolated from tinea infection and a standard strain of ATCCMYA4438 were selected.Corticosteroids were given to the Balb/C mice before and after the injection of the T. rubrum and mucin suspension and the mice model of granuloma was established.Direct microcopy, culture and histopathologic method were adopt to verify the infection effects. Results The mice inoculated with the T.rubrum granuloma strains with mucin suspension were examined after 21 days in the condition of applying appropriate dose of glucocorticoids.Direct microscopic examination showed the slender mycelium, fungal culture showed the growth of colony and histopathology showed excessive keratinization of foot tissue, formation of granuloma in the dermis with inflammatory cell infiltration of neutro-philic granulocyte and lymphocytes. However, the mice inoculated with the T.Rubrum tinea strains with mucin suspension showed the negative result. Conclusion The rubrum granuloma mice model can be es-tablished using the clinical isolates of T.rubrum granuloma strains with the mucin and glucocorticoids interventions.

Objective:Preparation and immune characteristic analysis of polyclonal antibody against hypervariable region protein of Taura syndrome virus major capsid protein VP 1 as a reference for studies on immunological diagnosis reagent. Methods:The recombinant vector pET-VP1 was transformed into E.coli BL21 for protein expression.Immunizing a New Zealand rabbit with purified VP1 protein, the titer of anti-VP1 serum was determined by Agar diffusion test and ELISA.Monoclonal phage specific binding to the purified VP1 protein was used for competitive inhibition test. Results: The VP1 protein was soluble and high expression in E.coli BL21.The biological activity titer of anti-VP1 serum reached 1∶26 ,1∶217 determined by Agar diffusion test and ELISA respectively.A litter binding activity of antiserum and VP 1 protein could be blocked by monoclonal phage , but would not affect the final positive result. Conclusion:High titer antibody Preparation of the VP 1 hypervariable region protein. The binding activity of the polyclonal antibody with VP1 protein was not affected by the mutations of VP 1 protein in minority areas ,so the antiserum could be used as immu-nological detection diagnosis agent.
