Objective To study the findings of CT and MRI in tongue cancer. Methods 21 cases of tongue cancer were examined by CT or MRI,CT examined 7 cases,MRI examined 14 cases. Results MRI could display the tongue cancer in all the cases, but CT only display 5 of 7 cases of the tumour. The value of CT and MRI was same in displaying soft tissue direct invasion.MRI and contrast enhanced CT could display cervical lymph node metastases.CT was superior to MRI in the diagnosis of mandible invasion. Conclusion MRI is superior to CT in the display soft tissue of tongue cancer and the metastases.CT is optimal in detection of cortical bone invasion.

Objective To evaluate the methods of postoperative respiratory management and complications prevention of patients with myasthenia gravis who received thymectomy. Methods According to the accumulated scores of myasthenic crisis prediction, the patients with myasthenia gravis who underwent thymectomy in the past 5 years were divided into 2 groups: high risk group(12, n=11). The time of mechanical ventilation, restoration of muscle strength and spontaneously breathing during extubation, results of arterial blood gas analysis, body temperature, chest X-ray examination and sputum culture of each patient were analyzed. Results The time of mechanical ventilation in high risk group (18~30 h, 26 h in average) was longer than that in control group(4~28 h, 14 h in average)(P

Objective To explore the value of peripheral blood serum levels of PCT,CRP,TNF-α and free DNA of cells in predicting the development of MODS in patients with multiple trauma. Methods Complete detail clinical data of 54 casualties with multiple trauma admitted within 24 hours after accident from January 2011 through January 2012 were collected for retrospective study. The patients were divided into MODS group and non-MODS group according the criteria set forth by the Chinese Society of Critical Care and Emergency Medicine in 1995 national conference. The data of two groups are comparable, and data of another 20 healthy subjects undertaking routine annual physical examination were taken as control. The peripheral blood levels of PCT,CRP,TNF-α and free DNA of patients of two groups were determined 1 d,2 d,3 d,and 5 days after admission. Then the results were analyzed and compared between groups. Results Compared with non MODS group, the levels of PCT,CRP,free DNA of cells in MODS group were significantly higher (P < 0.05),but there was no deference in TNF-α between MODS group and non-MODS group (P > 0.05).When the relative risks of increased PCT (PCT≥6 mg/L),increased CRP (CRP≥ 130 mg/L)、and increased free DNA of cells (free DNA ≥ 10 0005/L) were analyzed, the presence of these 3 biomarkers with high levels occurred at the same time was the most accurate way to predicts MODS in 6.00 relative risk (RR),and the positive predictive value was 100%.Conclusions PCT,CRP,free DNA of cells could be the predictors of MODS in patients with severe multiple trauma, and the presence of high levels of these three biomarkers appearing together had high sensitivity and specificity for prediction.

Objective To investigate the clinical value of multi-slice spiral CT in the evaluation of esophageal variceal bleeding .Methods 50 cirrhosis patients with esophageal varices received multi-slice spiral CT and gastroscopy detection .The application value of multi-slice CT in the assessment of esophageal bleeding was evaluated according to the results of gastroscopy detection .Results CT angiography score had significantly positive correlation with the severity of endoscopic varices and endoscopic red color sign (r=0.762,0.687,all P<0.01).The sensitivity and specificity of CT angiography score in diagnosis of endoscopic red signs RC 3 were 76.92% and 92.50%. Conclusion The results of multi-slice CT and gastroscopy are positively correlated with the severity of esophageal varices, which can be used to predict the risk of esophageal bleeding .

Objective To observe the effect of scalp acupuncture and rehabilitation training on the regulation of neuro-plasticity-associated protein MAP-2 in gerbils modelling cerebral ischemia and reperfusion. Methods Cerebral ischemia and reperfusion were modelled into thirty-six male gerbils. They were then randomly divided into a model group (A),a scalp acupuncture and rehabilitation training group (B) and a rehabilitation training group (C),each of 12 cases. The scalp acupuncture and rehabilitation training were administered daily to the gerbils in group B beginning 24 h after modeling, for 14 d.Any changes in Bederson scores were observed after one,7 and 14 days.On the 14th day the expression of MAP-2 around the infarct focus was detected using western blotting in all 3 groups. Results On the 7th day the average Bederson score in group B (1.81 ± 0.52) was not significantly different from that in group A (2.13 ± 0.49) or group C (2.00 ± 0.31) (P > 0.05).At the end of the treatment, however, there were significant differences between the groups, with group B (0.47 ± 0.31) scoring significantly better than groups C (1.04 ± 0.63) and A (1.46 ± 0.72) (P < 0.05).Group C was also significantly better than group A (P <0.05).The expression of MAP-2 as measured as integrated optical intensity (IOD) in group B (0.91 ±0.18) was significantly higher than that in group A (0.43 ± 0.21) and group C (0.67 ± 0.24) (P < 0.05) ; so was group C compared to group A (P <0.05).Conclusion The scalp acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training can improve the recovery of motor function and enhance the expression of neuro-plasticity-associated protein MAP-2 in gerbils with after cerebral ischemia and reperfusion.

Objective:To observe the changes in percentages and subsets of invariant nature kiler T (iNKT) cells in adipose and related tissues at different stages of obesity, and analyze the role of iNKT cells during chronic inflammation in adipose tissues in a mouse model of obesity established with high-fat diet. Methods:Changes in mouse body weight, mental state, glucose tolerance and insulin tolerance were recorded. Hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining was used to observe pathological changes in adipose tissues. Flow cytometry was performed to detect the percentages and subsets of iNKT cells as well as the percentages and subtypes of macrophages. The levels of cytokines in serum samples and the culture supernatants of lymphocytes in adipose tissues were detected with CBA. The expression of related proteins in adipose tissues was detected by Western blot.Results:(1) The volume of adipose cells increased significantly after four weeks of high-fat feeding, but the infiltration of inflammatory cells was not obvious. Significantly increased infiltration of inflammatory cells was observed after 12 weeks of high-fat feeding. (2) High-fat feeding could reduce the percentage of iNKT cells, increase the proportion of iNKT1 subgroup and decrease the proportion of iNKT10 subgroup in adipose tissues. The proportion of iNKT1 subgroup in thymus increased, but that of iNKT2 subgroup decreased. The percentage of macrophages and the proportion of M1 subgroup in adipose tissues increased, while the proportion of M2 subgroup decreased, which were more obvious after 12 weeks of high-fat feeding. (3) High-fat feeding resulted in decreased expression of E4BP4 and arginase-1 (Arg-1) in adipose tissues and increased expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS). (4) High-fat feeding significantly increased the pro-inflammatory cytokines and decreased the anti-inflammatory cytokines in mouse serum and culture supernatants of lymphocytes in adipose tissues with more significant changes observed after 12 weeks of high-fat feeding. Conclusions:Increased iNKT1 and decreased iNKT10 in obese adipose tissues might be closely related to the increased M1 polarization and the imbalance of iNKT subsets might be involved in the progression of chronic inflammation in obese adipose tissues.
