Spinal biomechanics, especially the range of spine motion,has close connection with spinal surgery. The change of the range of motion (ROM) is an important indicator of diseases and injuries of spine, and the essential evaluating standards of effect of surgeries and therapies to spine. The analysis of ROM can be dated to the time of the invention of X-ray and even that before it. With the development of science and technology as well as the optimization of various types of calculation methods, diverse measuring methods have emerged, from imaging methods to non-imaging methods, from two-dimensional to three-dimensional, from measuring directly on the X-ray films to calculating automatically by computer. Analysis of ROM has made great progress, but there are some older methods cannot meet the needs of the times and disappear, some classical methods such as X-ray still have vitality. Combining different methods, three dimensions and more vivo spine research are the trend of analysis of ROM. And more and more researchers began to focus on vivo spine research. In this paper, the advantages and disadvantages of the methods utilized recently are presented through viewing recent literatures, providing reference and help for the movement analysis of spine.

BACKGROUND:Previous studies have found that estrogen deficiency causes a reduction in the activity of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s (BMSCs). OBJECTIVE:To explore the effect of endothelial progenitor cel s (EPCs) on the BMSCs proliferation and apoptosis ability of osteoporosis rats. METHODS:Healthy female Sprague-Dawley rats, 6 weeks old, were enrol ed and subjected to bilateral ovariectomy to make osteoporosis models. BMSCs and EPCs were isolated using density gradient centrifugation combined with adhesion method, and identified with surface markers, cel proliferation and immunocytochemistry in vitro. We used Transwel inserts to establish EPCs and OVX-BMSCs indirect co-culture system. Control groups were OVX-BMSCs group and sham-BMSCs group in which rats were only subjected to remove the equal amount of fat tissues around the ovary. Flow cytometry was applied to detect BMSCs proliferation and apoptosis ability. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with the control groups, the results of flow cytometry test showed that the proportion of OVX-BMSCs at S phase was significantly increased at 3 days of indirect co-culture with EPCs and the apoptosis rate was significanty reduced at 10 days of indirect co-culture with EPCs (both P<0.05). These results suggest that EPCs can promote the proliferation but inhibit the apoptosis of OVX-BMSCs.

Objective To compare the difference of procalcitonin (PCT)level between serum and plasma in children so as to in-vestigate whether ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid dipotassium (EDTA-K2 )anti-coagulation plasma could replace serum to be an al-ternative material for PCT testing.Methods The PCT concentrations in the serum and EDTA-K2 anti-coagulation plasma from 90 children patients were detected by using the mini-VIDS-GB automatic enzyme linked fluorescence analyzer and the plasma PCT au-tomatic quantitative detection method.The correlation between the two sets of data was analyzed.And the data were assigned into the 3-level groups for conducting statistic analysis.At the same time the influence of child′s age and gender on the PCT level was al-so discussed.Results The PCT level in serum was well correlated with that in EDTA-K2 anti-coagulation plasma (r=0.812,P <0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in PCT levels between serum and plasma measured in the low level groups (P >0.05).However,the differences of the PCT levels between serum and EDTA-K2 anti-coagulation plasma in the middle level group and high level group were statistically significant (P <0.05).Child′s gender and age have significant effect on the PCT level. Conclusion There is statistically significant difference between serum and plasma PCT detection levels in children,which has an important guiding role for further systematic study of PCT level difference in serum and EDTA-K2 anticoagulation plasma and its clinical significance.

Objective:To explore the propaganda methods and propagation path of advertising media cosmetology publicity in accordance with public demand and ethical principles,through understanding college students' acceptance level for advertising media cosmetology publicity and its influence on their choice forcosmetic ways.Methods:With the method of stratified cluster sampling,an anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted among 210 college students in a university in Shaanxi province.Results:The Internet has become the main way for college students to acquire cosmetology knowledge.A total of 44.7 ％ of the students thought most of the media cosmetology publicity was unbelievable,46.5％ of the students thought that advertising media publicity mainly considered the interests of the beauty institution,72.9％ of the students would not consider the beauty institution the media recommended,62.4％ of the students would choose regular public hospitals,56.3％ of the students would give up the idea of cosmetology due to the news of cosmetic failure,42.2％ of the students could accept minimally invasive plastic surgery,and 68.5 ％ of the students expected to acquire the cosmetology knowledge through expert consultation.Concltusion:At current,the credibility of media cosmetology publicity is not optimistic enough.It should further strengthen the supervision for media cosmetology publicity.Cosmetology advertising media should construct the publicity mode based on ethics,law,governance,occupation,public welfare and social responsibility.

This study was conducted to investigate the paclitaxel loaded by hydrazone bonds in poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(caprolactone) micelles (mPEG-PCL-PTX) on proliferation and apoptosis of human lung cancer A549 cells and its possible mechanisms of anti-tumor activity. The cell proliferation was measured with MTT assay. Flow cytometry were used to analyze the cell cycle. The cell apoptosis was analyzed using Hoechst/P staining. The expression levels of apoptotic genes expression in the mitochondrial apoptosis pathway were detected by RT-PCR and Western blotting, respectively. The mPEG-PCL-PTX could inhibit the proliferation of A549 cells and promote the apoptosis. The Bax, caspase-3 protein expression were increased while Bcl-2 protein expression was decreased in A549 cells. Results showed that the polymer containing hydrazone bond is non-toxic in vitro, the mPEG-PCL-PTX micelles can inhibit the proliferation and induce the apoptosis of A549 cells. OBJECTIVETo study short-term results and clinical application of Tri-lock BPS in total hip arthoplasty.

METHODSFrom May 2010 to July 2011, 32 hips in 31 patients (18 males and 13 females, ranging in age from 50 to 77 years old, with an average of 60.5 years old) were treated by total hip arthroplasty with Tri-lock BPS, including 8 patients with osteonecrosis (ON), 13 patients with fresh femoral neck fracture, 10 patients with developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH). The therapeutic effects were evaluated by self assessment form, preoperative and postoperative Harris hip score, radiographs, Engh score and bone in growth of femoral side described by Gruen. Based on the short-term results,its design characteristic and clinical properties were analyzed.

RESULTSAll the incisions healed well and there were no complications such as femoral fracture, infection, dislocation and neurovascular injuries. All the patients were followed up with an average time of 12.2 months (ranged, 10 to 14 months). All the joints had good or excellent clinical results. The Harris score increased from preoperative 38.3 +/- 4.9 to 92.5 +/- 11.2 at the latest follow-up (t = 27.53, P < 0.01). Radiographically, the positions of the prostheses were normal,the average limbs length and femoral eccentricity recovered to normal. X-ray of the hips showed that the femoral stem prosthesis was in line with good initial fixed standard. At 3 months after surgery, X-ray of the hips showed that bone in growth in Gruen II and VI of femoral side.

CONCLUSIONShort-term results show that the design of Tri-lock BPS is more in line with human anatomy, and has the advantages in rapid recovery of hip function and retains more bone mass. It offers a newly valuable technology for the treatment of osteonecrosis, femoral neck fracture and DDH and so on.

OBJECTIVEHigh altitue pulmonary edema (HAPE) impacts seriously people's health at high altitude. Screening of susceptibility genes for HAPE will be used for the evaluation and protection of susceptible people.

METHODSWe performed a genome-wide association study (GWAS) using Affymetrix SNP array 6.0 in 23 HAPE patients and 17 healthy controls. GO and Pathway analysis softwares were used to analyze and draw gene network.

RESULTSThirty-nine SNPs were found to be significantly different between case and control groups (P < 10(-4)). GO and Pathway analysis of 27 genes around the 39 SNPs indicated that these genes mainly participate in the regulating of cell proliferation, regulation of nitrogen compound metabolic process and G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway and so on.

CONCLUSIONIt suggests that these SNPs and genes found in this study may be associated with the susceptibility of HAPE.

Objective To observe the sequence of fat deposit and its relationship with insulin resistance in SD rats fed by high fat diet.Methods Normal 8-week-old male SD rats were randomly divided into normal chow (NC,n=40)and high fat diet(HF,n=40)groups.Triglyceride(TG)in serum,liver and muscle were measured;glucose infusion rate(GIR)and the mRNA level of genes related to lipid metabolism in liver and muscle were determined in different stages.GIR was detected by eugiyeemic-hyperinsulinemic clamp for evaluating the insulin sensitivity.Gene expression was determined by real-time PCR.Results(1)As compared with NC group,serum TG was not increased after high fat feeding for4 and 8 weeks,it began to increase after 12 weeks [0.52(0.15-1.00) mmol/L vs O.31(0.09-0.53)retool/L, P0.05)in skeletal muscle.After 8 weeks,the expression of ACC1 in liver in HF group was increased by 20.6%,CPT-1 was decreased by 27.1%(P
