Objective To evaluate the MRI and CT representations and their valuation of intraeranial dermoid cyst. Methods 23 cases who suffered from intracranial dermoid cyst confirmed by pathology were included retrospectively. The MRI and CT representations, and the pathological and clinical characteristics were analyzed. All the cases were performed with MRI, and 20 cases were performed with CT at the same time. Results 22 cases showed inhomogeneous high signal intensity in T1WI and T2WI, 1 cases showed iso-high signal intensity in T1WI and low signal intensity in T2WI. 8 cases showed plaque-like inhomogeneous high signal intensity in DWI. 19 cases showed homogeneous low density in CT scans with standard window width and level ,amt showed inhomogeneous low density with large window width and low window level. One case showed high density in CT scans with standard window width and level. Fat drop in subrachnoid space and bilateral cerebral ventricle and interstitial brain edema were found in 8 cases with MRI and CT. Conclusion Intracranial dermoid cyst always have typical MRI and CT representations. Distinctive representations could be found when the rupture of dermoid cyst exist, and correct diagnosis could be made before operation. MRI is better than CT in the diagnosis of dermoid cyst.

Objective:The study is to compare the prevalence and related factors of suicidal ideation in ado-lescents between China and Philippine. Methods:Our research data was downloaded from the website of world health organization (WHO).It was the data of China and Philippine from the Global school-based student health survey(GSHS)which was launched by the WHO,and 9173 students in China and 7338 students in Philippine aged 11 -16 years were involved. The situations of being serious injury, being bullied, sense of loneliness, insomnia, sense of hopelessness, friends, smoking, alcohol consumption, drug abuse and exercise were assessed by the ques-tionnaire.The definition of suicidal ideation was that ever thinking of suicide seriously in the last 12 months. Results:The rate of having suicidal ideation in China and Philippine were 17.4% (1544 /8881 )and 19.3% (1371 /7089),respectively.Multivariate analysis showed that female (OR =1.45),grade two and three of middle school (OR =1.29,1.43),being serious injury (OR =1.35),being bullied (OR =1.87),sense of loneliness (OR =1.47),insomnia (OR =1.55),sense of hopelessness (OR =3.36),alcohol consumption (OR =1.45)and drug abuse (OR =1.55)were the risk factors to suicidal ideation in China adolescents, and having good friends (OR=0.66)and exercise regularly (OR =0.78)were the protective factors. However, the female, grade, sense of lone-liness,insomnia and drug abuse were not the risk factors to suicidal ideation in Philippine adolescents, and other fac-tors were similar to China sample. Conclusion:There may be differences in the prevalence rate of suicidal ideation between adolescents in China and Philippine, with lower rate in China.Meanwhile, there are similarities in the relat-ed factors on the adolescent suicidal ideation of the two countries, with more risk factors in China sample. Therefore, the individualized targeted measures should be taken to prevent suicide in China and Philippine respectively.

A double targets of high throughput screening model for xanthine oxidase inhibitors and superoxide anion scavengers was established. In the reaction system of xanthine oxidase, WST-1 works as the probe for the ultra oxygen anion generation, and product uric acid works as xanthine oxidase activity indicator. By using SpectraMax M5 continuous spectrum enzyme sign reflectoscope reflector, the changes of these indicators' concentration were observed and the influence factors of this reaction system to establish the high throughput screening model were studied. And the model is confirmed by positive drugs. In the reaction system, the final volume of reaction system is 50 μL and the concentrations of xanthine oxidase is 4 mU x mL(-1), xanthine 250 μmol x L(-1) and WST-1 100 μmol x L(-1), separately. The Z'-factor of model for xanthine oxidase inhibitors is 0.537 4, S/N is 47.519 9; the Z'-factor of model for superoxide anion scavengers is 0.507 4, S/N is 5.388 9. This model for xanthine oxidase inhibitors and superoxide anion scavengers has more common characteristics of the good stability, the fewer reagent types and quantity, the good repeatability, and so on. And it can be widely applied in high-throughput screening research.

Objective:To explore the differences of CBCT image gray value of commonly used dental materials. Methods:CBCT was used to scan 36 kinds of commonly dental material blocks, the tomographic image gray value was measured by Mimics software.Re-sults:CBCT image gray values of the materials were obtained. There were differences of the gray values of the materials not only among the different types, but also among the different varieties of the same materials. Conclusion:The discipline of CBCT image gray value differences of commonly used dental materials provided an objective basis for the establishment of 3D digital model including dental ma-terials.

Objective:To study the effects of endothelial progenitor cells(EPCs)on the osteogenesis of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (BMSCs)sheet-implant complex. Methods:EPCs were added to the BMSC sheets, and the expression of osteogenesis-relat-ed genes was examined by real time PCR.Cell sheets were wrapped around implants to construct cell sheet-implant complexes and the complexes were subcutaneously transplanted into SCID mice. The complexes were harvested 8 weeks after operation and observed by micro-CT and histological examination. Results:The BMSC sheet with EPCs showed higher expression of Runx2,ALP,BMP2 and VEGF in the in vitro test;higher bone volume ratio, greater amount of new bone tissue and higher expression of Runx2 and BMP2 in the in vivo test. Conclusion:EPCs can improve the osteogenesis of BMSC sheet-implant complex.

Chinese Journal of Nervous and Mental Diseases 2014;(12):721-725
Objective To explore the differences in the strength of the nodes in the brain white matter weighted networks between the male patients with paranoid schizophrenia and male healthy controls, and to analysis the integrity of the white matter fiber tracts that connected to the different brain regions and its relationship with the course of disease. Methods Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) data were obtained from 25 male patients with paranoid schizophrenia and 26 male healthy controls. The whole brain was parcellated into 90 regions by using the anatomical label map. Tractography was performed in the whole brain of each subject to reconstruct white matter tracts using the FACT algorithm. The brain white matter weighted networks were then constructed using the complex network theory. Results The strength of the nodes in the networks of schizophrenia significantly decreased in the right thalamus (P=0.03, corrected) and the right hes?chl gyrus (P=0.04, corrected). Negative correlation was found between the strength of the right thalamus and the course of disease (r=-0.45, P=0.03). Conclusion The integrity of the white matter fiber tracts connected to the thalamus and tem?poral lobes in the male paranoid schizophrenia is impaired. The lesion of fiber tracts connected to the thalamus is related with the course of disease.

Objective · To isolate phages which can fight against extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBLs)-producing Escherichia coli (E. coli), and provide basic research for establishment of E. coli phage library and treatment of bacterial infection. Methods · Samples collected from sewage were co-cultured with 93 ESBLs-producing E. coli strains. A phage named JDEC001 was isolated by double agar overlay plaque assay. The biological characteristics, complete genome sequence and comparative genome analyses of JDEC001 were studied respectively. Results · JDEC001 belongs to the lytic phage as a member of the Caudovirales order, Podoviridae family. It has high activity at pH from 5 to 11 and with temperature from 0 to 39 ℃ .Whole-genome sequencing of JDEC001 demonstrated double-stranded DNA genome of 38745 bp with GC content of 49.93%, which encoded 46 open reading frames. The comparative genomics also showed that there was no virulent genes or antibiotic resistant genes in its genome. Conclusion · The phage JDEC001 against ESBLs-producing E. coli was isolated and purified, with good stability in a broad range of pH and temperature.
