The effect of RNA interference-mediated adiponectin gene silence on glucose-lipid metabolism in apolipoprotein E gene knock-out(ApoE~(-/-)) mice was studied. The plasma adiponectin level in ApoE~(-/-) mice with high-fat diet and adiponectin short hairpin RNA (shRNA) adenovirus injection (ADI group) was significantly lower than that in ApoE~(-/-)mice with high-fat diet(HF group), normal-chow(NF group)and naked adenovirus injection (GF, both P<0.01). Fasting blood glucose, fasting plasma insulin, free fatty acids, total cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C), and body weight were significandy elevated in three high-fat diet groups compared with in NF group, (P<0.01). However, fasting plasma insulin, free fatty acids, total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL-C, and HDL-C in ADI group were significantly higher than those in HF and GF groups(P<0.01 or P<0. 05). A typical clinical phenotype of glucose-lipid metabolism and insulin resistance in ApoE~(-/-) mice can be induced by high-fat feeding and adiponecting gene silencing.

Endemic dental fluorosis has been reported in some regions of the world. China seemed to have high prevalence of endemic dental fluorosis, especially in southwest China. It is now most likely that excessive fluoride intake during enamel development play a key role in the pathogenesis of dental fluorosis. However, excessive intake of fluoride-induced cellular and molecular mechanisms of dental fluorosis are not entirely conclusive. Scholars at home and abroad have made a lot of research on pathogenesis of enamel fluorosis by using various experimental techniques. More recent studies mainly suggest that endoplasmic reticulum stress and calcium overload-associated apoptotic pathway may participate in fluoride excess-evoked pathogenesis of dental fluorosis. Furthermore, the functional changes of enamel matrix protein and protease activity may be involved in the pathological event. This paper summarized the recent research progress on this topic.

Microbiology 1992;0(02):-
Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi can infect the roots of Cercidiphyllaceae and form arbuscular mycorrhizae.Infection rate is from 12% to 30%,but infection strength is weak.4 species of Acaulospora and 11 species of Glomus were isolated and identified, including Acaulospora tuberculata,A.spinosa,A.foveata,A.denticulate,Glomus geosporum,G.clarum,G.constrictum,G.monosporum,G.laroideum,G.versifome,G.microcarpum,G.mosseae,G.hoi,G.halonatum and G.reticulatum.Among them,G.cercidiphyllorum is advantage species. So AMF may be a potent resource of biology which can stimulate the growth of Panax notoginseng.

Objective To study the pain controlling effects of non-pharmaceutical interventions in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) setting. Methods Infants who received radial artery puncture were assigned into control group, non-nutritive sucking (NNS) group and NNS plus glucose (NNS + GS) group according to their admission sequences. Each group contained 20 patients. Heart rate ( HR), respiratory rate (RR) and oxygen saturation (SpO2 ) before and after the procedure were monitored using Multi-Parameter Monitor ECG. Neonatal pain was evaluated using the preterm infant pain profile (PIPP). Results Among all three groups, after radial artery puncture, HR and RR were significantly increased, and SpO2 was significantly decreased (P < 0. 01). HR, RR and SpO2 variations in NNS group and NNS + GS group were less significant than the control group (P < 0. 05), and recovered to baseline more quickly. During the radial artery puncture, PIPP scores of infants in NNS and NNS + GS group were significantly lower than the control group (P < 0. 01), with NNS + GS group lower than NNS group (P <0. 05). Conclusions HR, RR and SpO2 can be used as physiological indicators of neonatal pain. PIPP score is simple and practical to be used in NICU setting. Both NNS and NNS + GS can partially relieve neonatal pain, and NNS + GS works better.

Heuristic teaching is propitious to cultivating students' ideation. We have used different heuristic modes for example problems, stories, contrast, associationin and so on to cultivate medical students' ideation in pathobiology and immunology teaching and acquired good effect.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of ginkgolides injection on experimental cerebral ischemia and its related mechanism of action.
METHODThe middle cerebral artery occlusion (MACO) model was induced by the FeCl3-occluding method to explore the protective effects of ginkgolides injection on the score of neurological deficits, the rate of cerebral infarction and the histomorphology of cerbral ischemia in rats. Thrombosis formation in vivo was induced by adrenaline-collagen in mice to explore the antithrombotic effect. Platelet aggregation was induced by ADP and hemorrheological parameters with hyper-viscosity by dextran T-500 were used to explore the effects of antiplatelet aggregation and decreasing viscosity of blood.
RESULTGinkgolides injection could markedly decrease the infarct size and behavior deficits score, inhibit the thrombus formation in mice, decrease blood viscosity and ameliorate hemorrheological parameters in rat.
CONCLUSIONGinkgolides injection has the protective effects on focal cerebral ischemia, and its mechanism may be relative to its inhibition of platelet-dependent thrombosis and amelioration of hemarheological partments.
