Objective To compare the effect and safety between lightwand and general-laryngo-scope application of trachea cannula in cervical spine fracture patients undergoing general anesthesia. Methods Forty cervical spine fracture patients with tracheal intubation anesthesia were selected, including twenty-eight males and twelve females, aged 18-65 years,ASA physical statusⅡor Ⅲ.These patients were randomly divided into two groups, twenty cases in each group. After anesthesia induction, group L was giv-en general laryngoscope intubation, whereas group C was taken lightwand guided tracheal intubation. The success case of intubation at first, intubation time, adverse reaction of intubation, changes of MAP and HR at intubation and 5 minutes after intubation were observed. Results Compared with group L,success rate of intubation at first was higher (90% vs.60%),intubation time was shorter [(31.3±11.1)s vs.(46.6 ±15.2)s]in group C (P <0.05).The changes of MAP and HR were more stable during intubation in group C compared with group L.Four cases of arrhythmia (20%)occurred in group C,while none in group L.Conclusion Compared with intubation by general laryngoscope, application of tracheal intubation led by lightwand in cervical fracture patients is more effective and safer.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2013;19(4):365-367
Objective To explore the effects of exercise with psychological rehabilitation on motor function of upper limbs for stroke patients with hemiplegia. Methods 34 stroke patients with hemiplegia were divided into treatment group (n=17) and control group (n=17). Both groups were treated with basic medication and exercise while the treatment group received psychological rehabilitation additionally. The motor function of upper limbs was evaluated with Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA), and activities of daily living was assessed with Barthel index (BI) before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the scores of FMA and BI improved significantly in both groups (P<0.001), and was better in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.001). Conclusion Exercise with psychological rehabilitation can effectively improve the motor function of upper limbs and activities of daily living for stroke patients with hemiplegia.

Background and purpose:PARP-1 is closely related to malignant tumors. This study aimed to ex-plore the clinical significance of serum level of PARP-1 protein in onset and progression of gastric cancer. Methods:The serum samples from 145 patients with gastric cancer and 112 healthy check-up cases were collected. The serumHP spec-ificity IgA and PARP-1 protein levels were detected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay method. The correlation of serum PARP-1 protein levels with clinical characteristics of gastric cancer was analyzed. Results:Compared with healthy people, serum PARP-1 protein levels were significantly higher in gastric cancer patients [(407±139) pg/mLvs(258±120) pg/mL,P=0.014). Serum PARP-1 protein levels were significantly higher inHp(+) gastric cancer patients than those in patients withHp (-) (P<0.001). Serum PARP-1 protein levels were positively correlated with family gastric cancer history (P=0.033) and alcohol intake history (P=0.015) in gastric cancer patients. Compared with serum protein PARP-1 negative patients, PARP-1 protein positive patients had a significantly shorter cancer-free survival (P=0.011). However serum PARP-1 protein level was not found to be an independent risk factor for the overall survival of gastric cancer patients using multivariate COX regression. Conclusion:High expression of serum PARP-1 protein may be involved in the pathogenesis and progression of gastric cancer. Inhibition of PARP-1 may be potential new target for the treatment of gastric cancer.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2014;(12):758-761
Objective:A study was conducted to investigate the effect of Prunella vulgaris sulfated polysaccharide (PVSP) on the expression of angiogenic growth factors (bFGF, VEGF, and IL-8) and angiogenesis in hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods:ELISA as-say was used to observe the effects of PVSP and the negative control drug Lentinan (LNT, non-sulfate radical drug) on secretions of the angiogenic growth factors, namely, bFGF, VEGF, and IL-8, in HepG2 cells in vitro. In an in vivo experiment, the microvessel density in hepatocellular carcinoma tissue sections treated with PVSP and LNT was calculated, analyzed, and compared with the microvessel den-sity in the phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) control. Results:Compared with the PBS control group, PVSP at 200μg/mL inhibited bF-GF secretion (P<0.01), whereas LNT failed to affect bFGF secretion. Neither PVSP nor LNT affected the secretions of VEGF and IL-8. In vivo results showed that PVSP at 200 mg/kg reduced the microvessel density in tumor tissue sections (P=0.03), whereas LNT at 10 mg/kg failed to affect microvessel density. Conclusion:Inhibition of bFGF secretion is a probable mechanism underlying the preven-tive effect of PVSP on hepatocellular carcinoma angiogenesis.
