1.Review of medical management of prostate cancer
Journal of International Oncology 2010;37(11):865-868
The procedure of treating prostate cancer is as the following: After local prostatectomy or radiotherapy or local palliative therapy, androgen-dependent prostate cancer(ADPC) should be given first-line endocrinal therapy. Almost all patients will be developed from ADPC to hormone independent prostate cancer (HIPC) after 14 ~ 30 months, including androgen-independent prostate cancer(AIPC) and hormone-refractory prostate cancer(HRPC). Second-line endocrinal therapy and chemotherapy should be given, respectively. Antibone metastasis therapy is given when bone metastasis occurred. All medical methods should be used rationally and comprehensively to improve the management of prostate cancer.
2.Comparison of Bactericidal Activity in cerebrospinal Fluid of Three Cephalosporins in Patients undergoing Surgery of Skull and Brain
Chinese Journal of Nosocomiology 1994;0(04):-
The bactericidal activity of serum and cere brospinal fluid (SBA and CBA)of ceftroiaxone (CTRX), cefotaxime(CTX) cefuroxime(CFR) in the patients undergoing surgery of skull and brain were studied by means of microdi luted method. The results showed antibacterial activity of CTRX against, enterobactericeae in vitro or in serum and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) was the highest, it is suggested that the schadule of CTRX per 12hr may be used in prevention and treatment of serious infections after surgery of skull and brain. The bacteria The SBA and CBA of CFR were less ,but its antibacterial spectrum was wide and bactezi cidal activity of CTX against gram positive strains and enterobactericeae in sencm and CSF were higher, CTX may be used in treatment of infections of nervous system caused by mixed bacteria, the cost was lower, so CFR may be selected in the moderate infections. The CBA was a synthesized guide reflexing the antibactieral activity and penetration into barrier, so it is impostand reference to select antibiotics of infection after surgery of skull and brain.

Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2016;47(11):1992-1999
Armillaria mellea is a kind of medicinal and edible fungus belonging to Tricholomataceae family. It possesses comprehensive biological activities, such as hypnotic, sedative, improving cardiocerebral blood circulation, hypoglycemic, antioxidant, and immune regulation. Besides, it can inhibit tumor. A. mellea contains characteristic chemical constituents, such as, protoilludane sesquiterpenoid aromatic esters, diterpenoids, triterpenoids, polysaccharides, adenosine, and various types of secondary metabolites. This paper summarizes the chemical composition and biological activity of A. mellea to provide the reference for developing and utilizing it.
6. Oxymatrine promotes the antitumor activity of cyclophosphamide against Lewis lung carcinoma in mice
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2010;29(4):399-403
Objective: To observe the anti-turnor activity of oxymatrine alone or in combination with cyclophosphamide against Lewis lung carcinoma in mice and to discuss the related mechanisms. Methods: Lewis lung carcinoma cells were transplanted subcutaneously to establish cancer transplantation model in mice. Animals were orally given oxymatrine(80, 40 and 20 mg/kg) alone or in combination with cyclophosphamide(30 mg/kg, gastric lavage). The mean tumor inhibitory rate was calculated and the growth curve of tumors was plotted. Radio immunoassay(RIA) was used to determine the serum concentration of epidermal growth factor (EGF). Comparison was made between the treatment groups and the control group. Results: The inhibitory rates were not significantly different between the control group and the pure oxymatrine treatment group. When combined with cyclophosphamide the inhibitory rates of oxymatrine were significantly increased (P<0.01). When at 80, 40 and 20 mg/kg, oxymatrine inhibited tumor growth by 66. 62%, 61. 70% and 59. 04%, respectively. Also, when combined with cyclophosphamide, oxymatrine at 40 and 80 mg/kg significantly decreased EGF levels compared with those of model group and pure oxymatrine groups (P<0.01). Conclusion: Oxymatrine can enhance the inhibitory effect of cyclophosphamide against Lewis lung carcinoma, and the mechanism may be related to the decrease of serum EGF level.
7.Trends in prevalence of depression symptoms among middle-aged and elderly residents in China from 2011 to 2018
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2023;35(8):649-654
Objective:
To investigate the trends in prevalence of depression symptoms among middle-aged and elderly residents at ages of 45 years and older in China from 2011 to 2018, so as to provide insights into depression prevention and control among middle-aged and elderly residents.
Methods:
Demographic features and evaluation data of depressive symptoms were collected from middle-aged and elderly residents at ages of 45 years and older recorded during four follow-ups in the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), and the depressive symptoms were screened using the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CES-D). Following sampling weights, non-response weights, and post-stratification weighting, the detection of depressive symptoms was analyzed among the middle-aged and elderly residents with different demographics, and the trends in prevalence of depressive symptoms were identified using annual percent change (APC).
Results:
A total of 48 223 middle-aged and elderly residents were enrolled, including 12 624, 10 427, 12 144, and 13 028 residents in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2018, with mean ages of (58.8±9.4), (58.9±9.2), (59.0±9.2), and (61.1±9.2) years, respectively. The prevalence of depressive symptoms was 34.5% (95%CI: 33.3%-35.8%), 29.6% (95%CI: 28.5%- 30.8%), 30.6% (95%CI: 29.4%-31.8%), and 35.0% (95%CI: 33.6%-36.4%) among middle-aged and elderly residents in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2018, respectively, with no remarkable changing trends seen (APC=0.4%, t=0.188, P=0.868). Higher detection was seen among residents at advanced ages, among women than among men, among rural residents than among urban residents, among residents with lower educational levels, among widowed and unmarried residents than among married residents, among unemployed residents than among employees, and among residents that had lower per capita personal consumption expenditures than mean expenditures than among residents that had higher per capita personal consumption expenditures than mean expenditures (all P<0.05).
Conclusions
There were no obvious trends in prevalence of depressive symptoms among middle-aged and elderly residents in China from 2011 to 2018, and individuals with advanced ages, women, urban residents and those with low educational and economic levels should be given a high priority for depression control.
