Light cannot be propagated within the range of photonic crystal band gaps. Based on this unique property, we proposed a method to improve anti-radiation capability through one-dimensional photonic crystal coating. Using transmission matrix method, we determined the appropriate dielectric materials, thickness and periodic numbers of photonic crystals through Matlab programming simulation. Then, compound one-dimensional photonic crystal coating was designed which was of high anti-radiation rate within the range of X-ray. As is shown through simulation experiments, the reflection rate against X-ray was higher than 90 percent, and the desired anti-radiation effect was achieved. Thus, this method is able to help solve the technical problems facing the inorganic lead glass such as thickness, weightiness, costliness, high lead equivalent, low transparency and high cost. Objective To investigate the correlation of spiral CT(SCT)features with pathology, microvessel density(MVD)、expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)、matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2)in colorectal carcinoma.Methods Forty patients with colorectal carcinoma confirmed by operation were examined by SCT.The resected tumor specimens were immunohistochemically stained for the expression of VEGF,MMP-2 and the calculation of MVD.Results The accuracy of SCT in depicting the pericolic and wall infiltration was 92.5%.The metastasis rates of colorectal cancer with pericolic infiltration and wall infiltration were 75.0% and 33.3%,respectively,the differences were statistically significant between the two groups(P

Objective To explore the effects of amlodipine,perindopril and valsartan on plasma adiponectin and retinol binding protein 4 in elderly patients with essential hypertension.Methods From March 2007 to July 2010,238 elderly patients with essential hypertension were selected and 193 cases completed this study.Patients were randomly divided into 3 groups:amlodipine group (n=68),perindoprilgroup (n=60) and valsartan group (n=65).Patients in each group were treated with amlodipine,perindopril and valsartan respectively for at least 12 weeks.The changes in blood pressure,heart rate,body height,body mass index (BMI),abdominal circumference,waist circumference (WC),levels of blood lipids,plasma adiponection and retinol binding protein 4 were observed before and after treatment.Results Compared with pre-treatment,systolic blood pressure in 3 groups were significantly decreased after treatment (all P＜0.01).There were no significant differences in blood pressure among 3 groups after treatment (all P＞0.05).Compared with pre treatment,plasma adiponectin level was significantly increased in perindopril group and valsartan group after treatment [(7.4±1.8) μg/L vs.(8.3± 1.8) μg/L,(7.5±1.7) μg/L vs.(8.4±1.9)μg/L,both P＜0.01].Plasma adiponectin level was higher in perindopril group and valsartan group than in amlodipine group after treatment [(8.3±1.8) μg/L vs.(7.6±1.8) μg/L,(8.4±1.9) μg/Lvs.(7.6±1.8) μg/L,both P＜0.05].Compared with pretreatment,plasma retinol binding protein 4 level in 3 groups were all decreased after treatment,and the decrements had significant differences in perindopril group and valsartan group (both P＜0.01) but had no difference in amlodipine group (P＞0.05).Plasma adiponectin retinol binding protein 4 levels were lower in perindopril group and valsartan group than in amlodipine group after treatment[(36.6± 14.2) μg/L vs.(42.7± 13.8) μg/L,(36.3±14.1) μg/L vs.(42.7±13.8) μg/L,respectively,both P＜0.01].Conclusions Perindopril and valsartan play important roles in cardiovascular protection beyond the antihypertensive effects by increasing plasma adiponection level and decreasing plasma retinol binding protein 4 level in elderly patients with hypertension.

Objective To investigate the feasibility and value of CT perfusion imaging in combination of CTA 320-slice CT with dual-low-dose in detection of acute cerebral ischemia.Methods Forty patients with acute stroke underwent perfusion imaging and CTA using a single scan with 320-slice CT with dual-low-dose schedule.CTA,4D-CTA,4D-perfusion imaging and fusion images were generated at a post-processing workstation.All patients also underwent a 3.0T magnetic resonance imaging with DWI for a comparison.Quality of the images,degree of vascular stenosis,and location of ischemic lesions were evaluated.Results The vascu-lar stenosis or occlusion was found in 33 patients,8 of whom were confirmed by the DSA.The ratio of better images of CTA was 82.5%.CTP showed 297 lesions with abnormal perfusion.202 lesions were confirmed as infarct by DWI,while 95 ones were nor-mal on DWI but with increased DLY and TTP and slightly decreased CBF and CBV in 49,increased DLY and TTP and normal CBF and CBV in 21,and increased DLY and TTP and slightly increased CBF and CBV in 25.Conclusion CT perfusion in combination with CTA by 320-slice CT with dual-low-dose is feasible and useful to observe accurately the vascular structures and the ischemic status of the whole brain at early stage.
