Light cannot be propagated within the range of photonic crystal band gaps. Based on this unique property, we proposed a method to improve anti-radiation capability through one-dimensional photonic crystal coating. Using transmission matrix method, we determined the appropriate dielectric materials, thickness and periodic numbers of photonic crystals through Matlab programming simulation. Then, compound one-dimensional photonic crystal coating was designed which was of high anti-radiation rate within the range of X-ray. As is shown through simulation experiments, the reflection rate against X-ray was higher than 90 percent, and the desired anti-radiation effect was achieved. Thus, this method is able to help solve the technical problems facing the inorganic lead glass such as thickness, weightiness, costliness, high lead equivalent, low transparency and high cost. This method has won China's national invention patent approval, and the patent number is 201220228549.2.

Objective To investigate the correlation of spiral CT(SCT)features with pathology, microvessel density(MVD)、expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)、matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2)in colorectal carcinoma. Methods Forty patients with colorectal carcinoma confirmed by operation were examined by SCT.The resected tumor specimens were immunohistochemically stained for the expression of VEGF,MMP-2 and the calculation of MVD.Results The accuracy of SCT in depicting the pericolic and wall infiltration was 92.5%.The metastasis rates of colorectal cancer with pericolic infiltration and wall infiltration were 75.0% and 33.3%,respectively,the differences were statistically significant between the two groups(P

Objective To retrospectively analyze the relationship of the classification and risk stratification in senile hypertension with benign prostatic byperplasia (BPH).Methods Totally 376 male senior patients, including 233 senile hypertensive patients and 143 non-hypertensive patients as a control, were enrolled in this study. There were 35 cases of hypertension at level 1,82 cases at level 2,116 cases at level 3.Based on risk stratification of hypertension, there were 3 cases of low-risk,28 cases of medium risk,75 cases of high-risk,127 cases of very high risk. All candidates accepted the International Prostatic Symptom Score (IPSS) assessment before the treatment.Fasting blood glucose (FBG),total cholesterol (TC),triglycerides (TG),low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C),high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and prostate specific antigen (PSA) were determined.Body mass index (BMI) and prostate volume (PV) were calculated.Relationship of classification and risk stratification in hypertension with BPH were analyzed. Results The levels of systolic blood pressurc (SBP),diastolic blood pressure (DBP),body weight,BMI,FBG and TC were higher (t=3.883,2.498,2.161,3.399,2.200,2.370,P<0.05 or P<0.01),while serum HDL-C were lower (t=2.036,P<0.05) in hypertensive patients than in control group.Compared with the control group,IPSS and PV was increased (t =3.432,3.381,both P<0.01) in hypertension group.Risk rate of hypertensive patients with BPH was 2.03 times (95%CI:1.33-3.11,P<0.01) as compared with control group. In hypertensive patients,PV and IPSS were higher in level 2 or 3 grade group than in level 1 group (F=6.890,7.576,all P<0.01).PV and IPSS in high risk and very high risk groups were enhanced as compared with those in low-medium risk group (F=30.608,19.804,all P<0.01).Pearson analysis showed that PV was positively correlated with SBP,FBG and TC(r=0.223,0.251,0.305,all P<0.05),while negatively correlated with HDL-C(r =-0.235,P<0.05).Similarly,IPSS was positively correlated with SBP,DBP and FBG (r=0.396,0.273,0.224,all P<0.01),while negatively correlated with HDL-C (r =-0.288,P< 0.01).Conclusions High incidence of BPH appears in the elderly men with hypertension. The increased PV and IPSS coexist with conventional risk factors of essential hypertension.Development of BPH is closely related to higher blood pressure and risk stratifications of hypertension.

Objective To investigate the bilateral flow-mediated dilation of brachial artery (BA-FMD) and nitroglycerin mediated dilation (BA-NMD) in patients with cerebral infarct, and to find out if the vasodilation of internal catotid artery after sublingual administration of nitroglycerin can be detected as a more direct way to reflect the vasodilation in patients with cerebral vascular diseases. Methods High resolution ultrasonic system was used to measure 13 patients with acute cerebral infarction. The diameter of brachial artery, internal carotid artery and common carotid artery was measured at relaxation, reactive congestion in the brachial artery and after sublingual administration of nitroglycerin. Meanwhile, the intima media thickness (IMT) and plaques of carotid artery was detected. Results Paralysis did not lead to differences in vasodilation of brachial artery (r=0.52, P=0.07). There was a correlation between ICA-NMD and BA-NMD (r=0.83, P=0.01). Conclusion There were no significant differences between brachial vasodilation in paretic and non-paretic limbs of patients with acute cerebral infarction. Ultrasonic measurement of ICA-NMD can be a more direct measure of the vasodilation of patients with cerebral infarction.

Objective To investigate the localization and the morphological changes of manchette during mouse spermiogenesis. Methods Immunofluorescence staining with FITC and costaining with DAPI were used to demonstrate the cellular localization of the manchette at different stages during mouse spermiogenesis. The structural changes of the manchette were observed during the maturing of the spermatid. Results Immunofluorescence staining showed that manchette existed exactly around the nuclei of the spermatids.Manchette began to form, when the shape of the nucleus changed from spherical to slightly elongated. While the nucleus of the spermatids condensed and elongated at later stages, manchette moved gradually to the caudal position of the spermatids. At last, the manchette diminished as the spermatids became mature.During mouse spermiogenesis, manchette underwent a transition from a cap-like to a tubular configuration.ConclusionThe formation and diminishment of the manchette is in step with the condensation and elongation of the nucleus of the spermatid. Both the structural and positional changes of the manchette coincide with the changes of the nucleus. These results imply that manchette might play an important role in mouse spermiogenesis.

Objective To investigate the feasibility and value of CT perfusion imaging in combination of CTA 320-slice CT with dual-low-dose in detection of acute cerebral ischemia. Methods Forty patients with acute stroke underwent perfusion imaging and CTA using a single scan with 320-slice CT with dual-low-dose schedule.CTA,4D-CTA,4D-perfusion imaging and fusion images were generated at a post-processing workstation. All patients also underwent a 3.0T magnetic resonance imaging with DWI for a comparison.Quality of the images, degree of vascular stenosis, and location of ischemic lesions were evaluated. Results The vascu-lar stenosis or occlusion was found in 33 patients,8 of whom were confirmed by the DSA.The ratio of better images of CTA was 82.5%.CTP showed 297 lesions with abnormal perfusion.202 lesions were confirmed as infarct by DWI,while 95 ones were nor-mal on DWI but with increased DLY and TTP and slightly decreased CBF and CBV in 49,increased DLY and TTP and normal CBF and CBV in 21,and increased DLY and TTP and slightly increased CBF and CBV in 25.Conclusion CT perfusion in combination with CTA by 320-slice CT with dual-low-dose is feasible and useful to observe accurately the vascular structures and the ischemic status of the whole brain at early stage.
