International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2006;0(06):-
FDG-PET has played a significant role in the clinical management of lung cancer since it can efficiently visualize the functional metabolic changes of normal and pathological tissues in human body. It has been used more and more widely in many aspects of lung cancer management including diagnosis, staging, target volume delineation for radiotherapy plan, treatment response inspection, and recurrence detection. However, the false positive led by benign and inflammation somehow decreases its diagnostic specificity of lung cancer. The diagnostic methods for lung cancer consist of visual interpretation and semi-quantitative analysis based on static imaging and quantitative analysis based on dynamic imaging. This article briefly reviews the current trends, challenges and foreground of this imaging modality in the field of clinical management of lung cancer.

AIM: To explore the effects of mindfulness- based stress reduction ( MBSR ) on anxiety, compliance and visual function in primary open angle glaucoma( POAG) patients. ·METHODS:Totally 64 patients, who were treated with topical medication and were diagnosed with POAG in the department of ophthalmology at Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, were randomly divided into the intervention group ( n=32 ) and the control group ( n=32 ) . Both groups received conventional mental health education while the intervention group was complemented with MBSR intervention. The patient's anxiety status, compliance rates and MD before and after the intervention were evaluated. ·RESULTS:After the MBSR intervention, the scores of HAMA of the intervention group were significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0. 01). The compliance of patients in intervention group was higher than that of the control group (P<0. 01). ·CONCLUSION:The MBSR intervention can effectively relieve the anxiety of patients and improve the compliance in primary open angle glaucoma patients. It can be promoted and put into clinical application.
7.Correlativity between single nucleotide polymorphisms in ALOX5AP promoter gene and ischemic stroke in north Chinese Han population
Chinese Journal of Neurology 2005;0(09):-
Objective To investigate the role of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)of ALOXSAP promoter gene in ischemic stroke susceptibility in north Chinese Han population. Methods A total of 220 ischemic stroke patients of north Chinese Han population and 191 healthy controls that had been matched for age and sex were enrolled in this study.Polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and direct sequencing were used for target gene genotyping and SNPs analysis.Association study was performed to analyze the relationship between genotype and phenotype and logistic regression was adopted to adjust the bias of conventional stroke risk factors. Results Three novel SNPs located in the promoter of ALOXSAP gene were found and frequencies of G/A genotype of-499 site, G/T genotype of-290 site and G/G genotype of -190 site were significantly higher in ischemic stroke patients than controls.Meanwhile, three haplotypes consisted of these SNPs were identified to be correlated with ischemic stroke, including a protective haplotype, Hap I(OR O.54, 95% CI 0.408 to 0.715), and two risk ones, Hap Ⅱ(OR 2.91, 95% CI 1.351 to 6.239)and Hap Ⅲ(OR 18.82, 95% CI 2.562 to 138.38).Meanwhile, the frequencies of G/A genotype of-499 site, G/T genotype of-290 site, Hap Ⅱ and Hap Ⅲ were significantly higher in ischemic stroke patients with more severe cerebral atherosclerosis indicated by digital subtract angiography. Conclusion Three novel SNPs in promoter of ALOX5AP gene are closely associated with ischemic stroke susceptibility in north Chinese Han population.
9. Interaction between curcumin and bovine serum albumin by fluorescence
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2011;42(9):1715-1718
Objective: To study the mechanism of interation between curcumin (CU) and bovine serum albumin (BSA). Methods: The style of quenching was investigated by changing the reaction temperature. The number and constant of binding sites of CU to BSA were calculated. Results: Static quenching was the main reason that caused the quenching of BSA fluorescence. The apparent combining constants (K0) were 5.26 × 106 at 21°C and 4.60 × 106 at 31°C, and the number of binding sites (n) was 1.35. By calculating the thermodynamic parameters, it can be deduced that hydrophobic force is the main binding force between CU and BSA. Conclusion: Fluorometric analysis is a good method for the study on CU-BSA binding reaction. It has the advantages of high speed and high sensitivity.

Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2021;39(3):228-232
Objective:To investigate the feasibility of rectus muscle insertion measurement with anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) after corrective surgery of concomitant exotropia. Methods:A cross-sectional study was performed.Twenty-five eyes of 25 patients with concomitant exotropia were included in Shenyang Aier Eye Hospital from March 2018 to February 2019, and all patients received concomitant exotropic corrective surgery. The distance of limbus to rectus muscle insertion was measured before operation, at the beginning and at the end of operation with a caliper and at postoperative 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months with AS-OCT, respectively.Degree of strabismus was examined by the alternate prism cover test at 33 cm.The research followed the Declaration of Helsinki and the protocol was approved by a Medical Ethics Committee of Shenyang Aier Eye Hospital (No.2017KJB005). Written informed consent was obtained from the patients/custodians prior to any medical examination and treatment. Results:A total of 44 rectus muscles of 25 eyes with concomitant exotropia were measured, including 25 lateral rectus muscles and 19 medial rectus muscles. The detection rate of the muscle insertion by AS-OCT was low at 2 weeks and 1 month after surgery. The mean distance of limbus to lateral rectus muscle insertions was (12.30±1.40), (11.72±1.45) and (11.84±1.27)mm at the end of operation and postoperative 3 and 6 months, respectively, showing a significant difference among them (F=4.085, P=0.023), and the distance measured at the end of operation was significantly larger than that at postoperative 3 months (P=0.018). The mean distance of limbus tomedial rectus muscle insertion was (5.12±0.42), (5.56±0.61) and (5.28±0.57)mm at the end of operation, postoperative 3 and 6 months, respectively, and there was no significant difference among the three time points (F=3.912, P=0.055). The degree of strabismus of the patients at various time points after surgery were significantly reduced in comparison with that before surgery (all at P<0.05).Conclusions:AS-OCT can track the position of extraocular muscle insertions after concomitant exotropic corrective surgery.
