Cancer Research and Clinic 2011;23(8):562-565
Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) was first discovered over 50 years ago, and is currently applied clinically in diagnosis, effects evaluation and relapse judgement of tumors especially for the primary hepatocellular carcinomas. And as an effective tumor marker, AFP test has become one of the essential items in physical examination. However, its clinical application is not limited to primary hepatocellular carcinomas, and its great application value has been proved in many benign diseases and other tumors (non-hepatic carcinomas).
2.Inflammation-targeted MR molecular imaging in atherosclerosis disease
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(08):-
Atherosclerosis,as a chronic inflammatory vascular disease, involves many cellular and molecular events in its formation and progression from an early fatty streak lesion to a highly dangerous rupture-prone plaque. The vulnerability or destabilization of atherosclerotic plaques is closely associated with plaque composition.Such imaging modality as magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),which allows of the evaluation of the plaque composition at the cellular and molecular level, may differentiate vulnerable and destabilized plaques and monitor the efficacy of antiatherosclerotic therapies. This paper gives an overview of molecular imaging strategies currently used for targeting the inflammation markers of atherosclerotic plaque vulnerability.
3.Analysis of prescriptions for anti-infectious agents for tumor patients
Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 1996;0(05):-
Objective To find out about the use of anti-infectious agents by tumor outpatients of the hospital. Methods A survey was conducted on 1 011 prescriptions for anti-infectious agents written out in the hospital from October to December of 2003 and an analysis was made of the structure and rationality of their use by means of drug utilization studies. Results The utilization rate of anti-infectious agents was 8.35% , accounting for 1.09% of the total sum of money for the prescriptions. The kinds of anti-infectious agents used were mostly cephalosporins and quinolones. The utilization rate of agents of compatibility was 4.44%. The drug utilization index of some chemicals was close to 1.00, accounting for about 44.44% . Conclusion There is no widespread abuse of anti-infectious agents by the outpatients of the hospital and the utilization rates of anti-infectious agents and agents of compatibility are low. Still, there are some problems in the use and compatibility of certain agents and the rationality of their use is to be questioned. The use of anti-infectious agents should be planned in a scientific way and in line with the economic condition of the patients.

5.Effects and optimum concentration of Rhizoma Chuanxiong on osteoblasts in vitro
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2016;20(37):5483-5488
BACKGROUND:It has been proved that Rhizoma Chuanxiong can promote osteoblast proliferation and differentiation.
OBJECTIVE:To further observe the effects of tetramethylpyrazine (Ligustrazine) extracted from Rhizoma Chuanxiong on osteoblast proliferation and type I col agen expression.
METHODS:Mouse osteoblast cel line MC3T3-E1 was cultured in medium containing 1, 5, 10, 15 and 20 mg/L Ligustrazine, respectively. Osteoblast proliferation was detected by cel counting kit-8 assay, and alkaline phosphatase activity and type I col agen level measured using ELISA method.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Different concentrations of Ligustrazine al significantly promoted the osteoblast proliferation and type I col agen level compared with the blank control group (P<0.005). The activity of alkaline phosphatase in al Ligustrazine groups except 15 and 20 mg/L groups was significantly higher than that in the blank control group (P<0.005). These results show that Ligustrazine isolated from Rhizoma Chuanxiong can effectively promote the osteoblast proliferation and type I col agen expression, with the optimum concentration of 10 mg/L.

0.05).Conclusion:So-fastTM can greatly improve the penetration of PS-ODN into S.mutans and can be used as appropriate delivery system of PS-ODN for S.mutans. No matter what approaches were adopted, the uptake rate reached the maximum at 5 ?mol/L and 2 h-exposure. The penetration can not be enhanced by increasing the PS-ODN concentration and the transformation time.

8.Survey and analysis of nutrient support drug utilization in cancer patients
Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 1996;0(09):-
Objective To find out nutrient support drug utilization in cancer patients in our hospital. Methods An analysis was made by means of drug utilization research into the structure and rationality of nutrient support drug utilization in our hospital through an investigation into the detailed records of the dispensary from 1999 to 2002 and into 1 014 medical records from 2002. Results The variety, quantity, and cost of nutrient support drug utilization in the four years rose respectively by 58.82%, 71.66% and 28.16%. 49.30% of the cancer patients whose medical records were surveyed used such drugs. The quantity and person time ratio of PN and EN drug utilization was respectively 14∶1 and 13∶1, with malnourished patients accounting for 19.80%. Of the PN drugs whose DDD value could be determined, most had a DUI value that was greater than 1 whereas most of the EN drugs had a DUI value which was smaller than 1. Conclusion The variety, quantity, and cost of nutrient support drug utilization in the four years rose rapidly. The quantity and person time of PN drug utilization were much higher than those of EN drug utilization. Doubts could be cast in the handling of indications for nutrient support drug utilization in some patients and the doses of some nutrient support drugs prescribed were not so rational. Further explorations need to be made into the rational application of nutrient support treatment.

Phosphorylation of beta-catenin tyrosine residue 654 plays an important role in the epithelial to myofibroblast transition (EMT). Introducing mimic peptide of tyrosine residue 654 domain of beta-catenin into cells may influence phosphorylation of beta-catenin tyrosine residue 654. To deliver this mimic peptide into renal epithelial cells, we used penetratin as a vector, which is a novel cell permeable peptide, to deliver hydrophilic molecules into cells. A tyrosine 654 residue domain mimic peptide of beta-catenin (PM) with fused penetratin was constructed, purified and then detected for the penetration of the mimic peptide into human renal tubular epithelial cells (HK-2). The results showed that purified fusion mimic peptide could efficiently and rapidly translocate into human renal tubular epithelial cells. It is concluded that a cell-permeable peptides mimic of tyrosine residue 654 domain of beta-catenin was successfully obtained, which may provide a useful reagent for interfering the human renal tubular epithelial-mesenchymal transition.

Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology 2011;31(7):865-867
ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of remifentanil on hepatic ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury in rats with liver cirrhosis.MethodsThirty male SD rats weighing 260-300 g were randomly divided into 3 groups (n =10 each):group liver cirrhosis (group C); group liver cirrhosis + hepatic I/R (group I/R) and group remifentanil (group R).Liver cirrhosis was produced in all animals in the 3 goups.I/R injury was induced by 20 min occlusion of the hepatic artery and portal vein entering the middle and left lobes of the liver followed by 4 h reperfusion at 1 week after establishment of hepatic cirrhosis in I/R and R groups. In group R remifentanil was infused iv at 1 μg·kg-1 ·min-1 starting from 10 min before ischemia until the end of 4 h reperfusion.Venous blood samples were taken from inferior vena cava at the end of 4 h reperfusion for measurement of serum ALT and AST activities. The animals were then sacrificed and liver specimens were taken from middle lobe for determination of Bcl-2 and Bax expression (by immuno-histochemistry) and hepatocyte apoptosis (by TUNEL) and microscopic examination.Apoptosis index (percentage of apoptotic cells) was calculated.ResultsI/R significantly increased serum ALT and AST activities,Bax expression and apoptosis index and decreased Bcl-2 expression in group I/R as compared with group C.Remifentanil significantly attenuated the I/R-induced changes in serum ALT and AST activities,Bax and Bcl-2 expression and apoptosis in group R as compared with group I/R.Remifentanil also ameliorated I/R-induced liver damage.ConclusionRemifentanil can auenuate hepatic I/R injury in rats with liver cirrhosis by up-regulating Bcl-2 expression and down-regulating Bax expression and inhibiting apoptosis.
