1.Correlation between ultrasonographic classification and age and lesion of female mammary gland

Objective To investigate the correlation between ultrasonographie classification, age and lesion in female. Methods One thousand two hundred and eight patients with 2416 mammary gland were comfired by pathologic findings, including 132 benign lesion and 54 malignancy lesion. According various sonographic appearances in the mammary gland structure and involution grade, the mammary glonds were classified into glandular,fibroglandular and fatty types. A single mammary gland is statistic unit. Results To follow age growth, the proportion of glandular type was decrease, 61.7% in under 30 years of age,31.5% in 30-39 years of age,15.3% in 40-49 years of age,8.6% in 50-59 years of age,4.5 in over 60 years of age. To follow age growth, the proportion of fatty type was higher, 1.6 % in under 30 years of age, 5.80% in 30-39 years of age,5.5% in 40-49 years of age,10.8% in 50-59 years of age,38.6% in over 60 years of age. Before 60 years of age, to follow age growth, the proportion of fibroglandular type was higher, which achieved the peak value (79.2%) in 40-49 years and last to 50-59 years of age (80.6%) ,but it was decrease to 56.9% after 60 years of age. There was significant difference of the proportion in any age(P=0.000).The proportion of the benign lesion no difference in three categories. The proportion of malignancy lesion (6.23%, 16/257 mammary gland)in fatty type was higher than that in fibroglandular type (2.18%,37/1698 mammary gland) which was significant difference(P=0.000). There was no malignancy lesion in glandular type. Conclusions Significant correlation were present between uhrasonographic classification, age and malignancy lesion, no significant correlation were found between uhrasonographic classification, age and benign lesion.

There is controversy regarding the roles of Ureaplasma urealyticum (U. urealyticum) colonization in the development of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). This study explored the association between U. urealyticum and bronchopulmonary dysplasia at 36 weeks post-menstrual age (BPD36). Studies published before December 31, 2013 were searched from Medline, Embase, Ovid, Web of Science, and Cochrane databases, with the terms "Ureaplasma urealyticum", "chronic lung disease", or "BPD36" used, and English language as a limit. The association between U. urealyticum colonization and BPD36 was analyzed with RevMan 4.2.10 software, using the odds ratio (OR) and relative risk (RR) for dichotomous variables. Out of the enrolled 81 studies, 11 investigated the BPD36 in total 1193 infants. Pooled studies showed no association between U. urealyticum colonization and subsequent development of BPD36, with the OR and RR being 1.03 (95% CI=0.78-1.37; P=0.84) and 1.01 (95% CI= 0.88-1.16, P=0.84), respectively. These findings indicated no association between U. urealyticum colonization and the development of BPD36.
4.A study on the associations between reduced kidney function and metabolic syndrome and its components

Objective To explore the association between estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and metabolic syndrome (MS) . Method The data were from the China Health and Nutrition Survey (CHNS) . The data included the physical measurement and biochemical markers of adults of CHNS in 2009. Finally, 7309 individual observations were included in the analysis. Results According to the criteria of MS, 2034 patients were diagnosed as MS, and the prevalence was 27.83%. There were 1508 (74.14%) patients had moderate reduced eGFR in MS patients, and 3357 individuals (63.64%) were diagnosed as moderate reduced eGFR in non-MS patients. There was significant difference between two groups (X2=72.13, P<0.001) . The incident of moderate reduced eGFR was positively associated with fasting plasma glucose (OR=1.22, 95%CI: 1.06-1.42, P=0.005), triglyceride (OR=1.21, 95%CI: 1.05-1.38, P=0.005) and negatively associated with HDL-C (OR=1.23, 95% CI: 1.06-1.41, P=0.004) . Conclusion The MS and its components might be the influencing factors of developing moderate reduced eGFR, and the screening should be focused on the population with MS.
5.Histological study of livers from the patients with chronic hepatitis B treated with bicyclol.

OBJECTIVETo study histological changes of the livers in patients with chronic viral hepatitis B treated with bicyclol tablets.
METHODSThirty one patients with chronic viral hepatitis B were divided into two groups and were treated with bicyclol orally at doses of 150 mg daily or 75 mg daily for 36 weeds. The histological changes of the livers were observed before and after the treatment.
RESULTSCompared with pre-treatment findings, there were significant differences in histological activity index in each group (P < 0.01, P < 0.05), there were also significant differences between the two groups (P < 0.05). Decreased inflammatory reaction was also seen (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONDaily use of 150 mg and 75 mg bicyclol tablets are effective in improving liver histological changes in chronic hepatitis B patients. Bicyclol 150 mg daily was better.

7.Expression and significance of liver X receptor-alpha in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in rats.

OBJECTIVEPreparing rat model of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by fat-rich diet to observe the expression and the role of LXR-alpha in rat nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
METHODSThirty-six SD rats were randonmized into basic diet-control group and high-fat diet group. Each of the two groups was subdivided into 3 subgroups (4, 8, 12 weeks). Changes in animal weight, liver exponent and the level of TG and TC in serum and liver were observed dynamically. Meanwhile,the expression of hepatocyte LXR-alpha and SREBP-1c were assayed by Reverse transcript-polymerase chain reaction at 4, 8, 12 weeks. The level of steatosis was observed under light microscope after haematoxylon-eosin (HE) staening.
RESULTSCompared with control group, body weight, liver exponent, TG and Tc in serum and liver were increased dynamically in model groups. Compared with control group, the mRNA of LXR-a and SREBP-1c were obviously increased dynamically in model groups (P < 0.05) .
CONCLUSIONThe increase of LXR-alpha and SREBP-1c in liver may be concered with energy disorder and closely associated with the activity of inflammation and the severity of the liver damage in NAFLD rats.

9.Effects of intrauterine growth retardation with catch-up growth on sugar-lipid metabolism and adipocyte function in young rats.

OBJECTIVETo study changes of glycolipid metabolism and adipocyte function in an catch-up growth intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) rat model.
METHODSIUGR rat model was established by maternal nutrition restriction during pregnancy. Newborn IUGR pups were used as IUGR group, and normal newborn pups were used as control group (appropriate for gestational age, AGA group). At age of 12 weeks, plasma samples were collected for the test of triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), adiponectin and acylation stimulating protein (ASP). Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) was performed for the test of glucose and insulin levels, and insulin resistance index (IRI) was calculated. Expression of glucose transfer 4 (GLUT-4) in adipocytes was examined by confocal microscopy.
RESULTSBody weight and BMI in the IUGR group were significantly higher than in the AGA group by 12 weeks (P<0.01), and plasma TC, TG and LDL-C levels in the IUGR group were higher than in the AGA group, but HDL-C was lower (P<0.05). In the OGTT test, blood glucose level and IRI score in the IUGR group were higher than in the AGA group (P<0.05). Compared with the AGA group, the IUGR group had a higher ASP level (P<0.05) and a lower adiponection level (P<0.05). GLUT4 expression in the adipocytes was significantly lower in the IUGR group than in the AGA group (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONSCatch-up growth may be obviously noted in IUGR rats after birth. Both hyperlipidaemia and insulin resistance occur at age of 12 weeks. Dysfunction of adipocytes decreased expression of GLUT-4 may be risk factors for insulin resistance in IUGR rats.

10.Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis: a clinicopathological analysis of liver biopsy in 32 cases.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the clinicopathological features of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and elucidate its diagnosis and differential diagnosis.
METHODSLiver biopsy tissues and clinical data of 32 patients with NASH were collected and the clinicopathological findings by HE and Masson staining were evaluated for NASH grading.
RESULTSBallooning degeneration of the liver cells and fibrosis around hepatic sinusoid was scarce in mild NASH cases and increased in moderate to severe cases. Steatotic and inflammatory cells in the liver lobes decrease in liver cirrhosis related to seatohepatitis.
CONCLUSIONBallooning degeneration of the liver cells and fibrosis around the hepatic sinusoid have important value in differential diagnosis of mild from moderate to severe NASH, and correct histological grading benefits clinical intervention and prognostic evaluation of NASH.
