Stress cardiomyopathy is an atypical myocardial disease induced by emotional or physical stress, with the characteristic of left ventricular systolic dysfunction, transient imaging and electrocardiogram (ECG) changes. Sudden cardiac death can occur in severe cases. Clinical symptoms are likely to appear on acute myocardial infarction, but the exact pathological mechanism is unclear. In the present study, we perform a systematic review of the literature on the clinical manifestations, epidemiological characteristics, ECG, imaging and laboratory tests of stress cardiomyopathy, in order to provide the values for forensic pathology diagnosis.

OBJECTIVETo explore the prediction of the site for microsurgical vasoepididymostomy (VE) in the treatment of epididymal obstructive azoospermia (OA).
METHODSThis study involved 56 infertile men with confirmed OA whose obstruction was suspected to be in the epididymis. Based on their medical history and results of preoperative physical examination and ultrasonography, we predicted the sites for VE. We performed surgical scrotal exploration for the status of epididymal obstruction, conducted palpation and microscopic observation for the epididymal tubules to be anastomosed, and finally decided on the sites for VE by making sure of the presence of motile sperm in the epididymal fluid of the patients. After surgery, we followed up the patients for the rate of pregnancy.
RESULTSAll the patients received bilateral scrotal ultrasonography and surgical scrotal exploration, totaling 112 procedures, including 98 VE procedures. The accuracy rate of the predicted sites for VE was 80.5% (153/190) by medical history and physical examination, 80.3% (90/112) based on the results of ultrasonography, and 87.4% (90/103) according to the first selected epididymal tubules. Of the 28 patients followed up for more than 12 months, motile sperm were found in 19 (67.9% ) at 2 to 12 months and spontaneous pregnancies were achieved in 10 (35.7%), all with the anastomotic sites in the corpus or cauda.
CONCLUSIONMedical history and physical examination contribute to the selection of anastomotic sites and non-invasive scrotal ultrasonography is effective and practical for positioning epididymal obstruction. The epididymal tubules with motile sperm for anastomosis could be easily obtained from the most dilated ones in indurated epididymides.

This study was purpose to investigate apoptosis pathway of leukemia K562 cells induced by anticoagulant fraction from Agkistrodon acutus venom (AVVC-1). The mitochondrial transmembrane potential (ΔΨm) of leukemia K562 cells was detected by flow cytometry with JC-1 single staining. The expression of cytochrome C in the mitochondrial of leukemia K562 cells was analyzed by Western blot after AVVC-1 treatment. The distribution of cytochrome C in leukemia K562 cells was measured by immuno-fluorescence test. The results showed that the potential of mitochondrial membrane decreased after treatment with different concentrations of AVVC-1 (12.5, 25, 50, 100 µg/ml) for 6 h (P < 0.01). The expression level of cytochrome C protein in mitochondria obviously declined after treatment with 30 µg/ml AVVC-1 for 48 h, and the fluorescent intensity of cytochrome C in cytosol was enhanced at the same time. It is concluded that AVVC-1-induced K562 cell apoptosis is related with mitochondrial damage, and cytochrome C may be a useful agent for investigating human leukemia therapy by using AVVC-1.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2018;53(7):1090-1099
Pancreatic cancer is a highly-malignant digestive system neoplasm. The anticancer efficacies of the chemotherapeutic drugs for pancreatic cancer treatment, such as gemcitabine, are greatly limited by their poor targetability to tumor and low drug concentration in the tumor tissue. Drug delivery system plays an important role in improvement of therapeutic efficacy and reduction of adverse effects. Enhancement of the tumor targeting capacity of nanomedicine and promotion of the delivery efficiency are the key issues in the research field of pharmaceutics. In this review article, we survey recent progress in targeted drug delivery nanosystems for treatment of pancreatic cancer by targeting cancer cells, pancreatic tumor stroma, pancreatic cancer-associated cells, and pancreatic cancer stem-like cells, which will provide a new insight into clinical treatment of pancreatic cancer.

Chinese Journal of Burns 2005;21(4):289-292
OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of bradykinin (BK) on the proliferation, apoptosis and differentiation of human keratinocyte (HKC) and the underlying mechanisms.
METHODSHKCs were cultured together with 1 x 10(-4) - 1 x 10(-9) mol/L of BK. With methyl thiotetrazole (MTT) and trypan blue staining it was shown that the BK in dose of 1 x 10(-4) mol/L possessed most powerful inhibitory effect, and the survival rate of HKC was 69.3%. Therefore, BK was employed in the dose of 1 x 10(-4) mol/L in the following studies. When the growth of HKCs reached the logarithmic phase, BK in the concentration of 1 x 10(-4) mol/L was added, and it was categorized as the test group (E). HKCs without BK served as the control group (C). The cell cycle and apoptosis were detected by flow cytometry after being cultured for 24 and 48 hours. The change in intracellular calcium [Ca(2+)](i) was determined by means of laser scanning confocal microscopy with calcium fluorescence probe Fluo-3/AM technique. The expression of HKC differentiation labeling protein keratin10 (K10) and involucrin were detected with Strept Avidin-Biotin Complex (SABC) immunocytochemical assay.
RESULTSThe cell ratio in G0/G1 phase in E group increased by 34.57% while in S phase decreased by 58.91% in reference to that in C group. The G1/S phase switching of HKCs was obviously inhibited by BK, and apoptosis was stimulated (apoptotic rate of 15.34% in E group vs 5.60% in C group, P < 0.05). The [Ca(2+)](i) increased transiently in HKCs by 163.0% in E group after 3 minutes of BK activation and decreased thereafter in reference to that in C group. The K10 expression in HKC was down-regulated in E group with positive cell rate of 2.20%, which was lower than that of C group (6.89%, P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe cell cycle process of HKC could be inhibited by high concentration of BK with increased apoptosis and an increase in [Ca(2+)](i), which might be the mechanism of inhibition of growth of HKC in vitro. Furthermore, the epithelial regeneration and HKC differentiation can also be inhibited by BK.

OBJECTIVETo characterize the profile of chromosomal imbalances in esophageal cancer (EC) with or without family history in Linzhou, Henan Province of China.
METHODSComparative genomic hybridization (CGH) was used to examine 13 cases with positive family history of EC and 32 cases with negative family history of EC. RESULTS DNA copy number gains on chromosome 10q was observed only in the cases with postivie family history of EC (30%), and none in cases with a negative family history (P<0.05). DNA copy number losses on chromosome 15q were significantly higher in cases with postivie family history (38% vs 6%, P<0.05). The frequency of DNA copy number gains in 3q, 5p, 7p, 8q and DNA copy number losses in 3p, 19q, 9q were similar in the two groups (both beyond 20%) (P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONSFrequent DNA copy number gains on chromosome 10q and losses on chromosome 15q in EC casers with postivie family history indicate that these chromosome sites may harbor the genes related to high susceptibility to EC. Such chromosomal sites as 3q, 5p, 7p, 8q, 3p, 19q, and 9q may contain important genes related with the environmental risk factors of esophageal carcinogenesis.
