Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(5):338-342
There is persuasive clinical and experimental evidence that macrophages promote cancer initiation and malignant progression. The aggregation of macrophages indicates poor prognosis of tumor associated diseases. During tumor initiation, macrophages create an inflammatory environment that is mutagenic to cells and promotes cell growth; as tumors progressing, macrophages create premetastatic niche for the arriving tumor cells at premetastatic sites ; then macrophages provide critical nutrients for these initial metastatic tumor cells.Along with these great achievements in research of macrophage, it is believed that several novel directions of tumor therapy surely occur in the future.

ObjectivesTo discuss the safety of surgical treatment and the feasibility of laparoscopic surgery for the elderly patients with gastric cancer. MethodsThe clinical and pathological materials of 104 elderly patients(65 years old or above) undergone surgical treatments retrospectively were analyzed,in order to analysis the postoperative complication incidence and the short-term outcomes in different age groups and different surgical pattern groups.ResultsThere were more preoperative comorbidities in ≥75 years old group than in <75 years old group(especially hypertension and diabetes),however, the incidence of postoperative complications was not significantly different. There was no difference of preoperative comorbidities, postoperative complications, surgical time or the amouts of blood loss during surgery between the laparoscopic and the traditional surgical groups, while the laparoscopic groups had short period of postoperative hospitalizing and earlier orally intake of fluid diet. There was also no difference of pathological results.ConclusionThe elderly patients with gastric cancer should have surgical treatments if the conditions are permitted, and the areas of dissection should be standard as far as possible. The old patient undergone laparoscopic surgery may have a shorter hospitalized period after operation, because their recovery of bowel function is more quickly.
4.Advances in research on oncolytic adenoviruses in tumor therapy.
Chinese Journal of Virology 2014;30(3):318-324
Oncolytic adenoviruses (Ads), which are live, replication-competent viruses that can selectively replicate in tumor cells and lead to cell lysis, have been used in tumor therapy. But due to the complexity and high mutability of human tumors, it becomes a major strategy to improve the selectivity, efficacy, and safety of oncolytic Ads. The oncolytic Ads that can express short hairpin RNA, cytokines, suicide gene, and matrix-modulating proteins have higher antitumor activity than the wild type. Tumor-specific promoters, especially hTERT and HRE promoters, increase the selectivity of oncolytic Ads for tumor cells. Moreover, oncolytic Ads surface-modified by polyethylene glycol (PEG), liposomes, biodegradable nanoparticles, and polypeptides have reduced immunogenicity and hepatotoxicity and improved antitumor activity when systemically administered, and the selectivity of oncolytic Ads can be significantly increased when linking PEG to antibodies, small peptides, cytokines, and ligands. Therefore, engineered oncolytic Ads combining the advantages of viral and non-viral vectors, as well as immunotherapy, are a promising strategy for improving the efficacy of targeted virotherapy.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(12):-
Rheumatoid arthritis(RA)is a serious autoimmune disease.Type Ⅱ collagen induced murine arthritis(CIA)displays polyarthritis and causes chronic and destructive joint damages, which is similar to RA in many aspects.CIA is widely used for the research on RA pathogenesis and drug discovery. In this review,we discussed the establishment of CIA and the key factors participating in the CIA pathogenesis.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(12):-
Our aim in this study was to determine differentially expressed genes of CD34 + cell from bone marrow and G CSF mobilized peripheral blood. CD34 + cells isolated from bone marrow and G CSF mobilized peripheral blood of the same donor were identified for differentially expressed genes in CD34 + cells using the technique of suppression subtractive hybridization. Eleven genes were expressed with higher levels in CD34 + cells from mobilized peripheral blood, as compared with data of GenBank. These genes included nuclear proteins, transcriptional regulatory molecules, zinc finger proteins and interferon induced molecules. These results demonstrate that there are some differences between the two groups of CD34 + cells. Further study would give us more extensive understanding about mobilization and homing of hematopoietic stem cells.

Objective To approach the clinical effect and safety of glutathione in patients with alcoholic liver disease(ALD).Method The patients were divided into two groups, including the control group and treatment group. Two groups are all treated with routine therapy such as Ganlixin, potassium magnesium aspartate, mulivitamins and so on,the treatment group add glutathione,to inspect clinical menifetation and liver function changes of two groups before and after treatments.Result Among the treatment group,43.6%showed notable effective result,51.3%effective,the total dffective rate is 94.9%. Among the control group, 19.4%showed notable effective result, 58.3%effective,the total dffective rate is 78.7%.There is a significant different between the two groups (P

AIM:To observe the changes of hepatic fibrosis index, clinical symptom, physical sign and hepatic function after the patients were treated treatment with reduced glutathione hormone.METHODS:The 72 patients were divided into two groups that one was the treatment group with 37 patients and the other was the control group with 35 patients. The control group was accepted the treatment with Ganlixin Injection,Magnesium Aminosuccinate Injection and Mulvital, etc. The treatment group was accepted reduced glutathione hormone(1.5 g,once a day)in addition. The course of treatment lasted for 8 weeks. We observed the two groups' blood-serum fibrosis indexes(HA,LN,PIII-P,C-IV)and biochemistry indxes(TBIL,ALT,AST,GGT)before and after the treatment.RESULTS:The improvements of the treatment group were much better than the control group on the sides of clinical symptom, physical sign, hepatic function and blood-serum fibrosis. The treatment group's blood-serum fibrosis indexes were much lower after the treatment(P
