2.Quantitative ultrasound test of calcaneus in 647 women in Guangzhou area
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2004;10(4):222-223
ObjectiveTo study changes of bone measured with quantitative ultrasound (QUS) in women of Guangzhou area and provide scientific basis for prevention and treatment of osteoporosis (OP).MethodsCalcaneus measurement was done with QUS in 647 women of Guangzhou area, and measurement data was analyzed.ResultsIn menopause and aged women, broadband ultrasound attenuation (BUA) showed a significantly decrease (P<0.01), whereas it decreased only slightly in early postmenopausal women (P>0.05). After the peak of BMD, speed of sound (SOS) showed a stepwise decline, and significantly decrease in menopause (P<0.01), but not significant over eighties (P>0.05). In contrast, stiffness index (STI) significantly decreased from the menopause, and it was a better indicator than BUA or SOS.ConclusionQUS can not only test bone mass but also assess microarchitecture, and it is nonradioactive, cheaper, easier to use, and may play a important role in diagnosis of osteoporosis and women and senile health.
4.Research progress of fluorometholone on dry eye
International Eye Science 2016;16(8):1474-1476
?Dry eye is a common eye disease around the world, which has highly incidence. Although there are many treatment measures for dry eye, the clinical effect is not satisfactory. There is a close relationship between inflammation and dry eye, so the researchers pay more attention on anti -inflammatory therapy, such as fluorometholone. To explore the effect of anti -inflammatory medicine on dry eye, put forward the problems and shortcomings as well, lay the foundation for further study, and provide a strong theoretical basis for the clinical use of anti-inflammatory drugs in the treatment of dry eye, the author summarizes the clinical and experimental research progress of fluorometholone on dry eye in China and abroad.

Objective To ev aluate clinical results of selective anterior corpectomy combined with segmental discectomv and fusion for multilevel cervical myelopathv andits related factors. Methods Twenty-five patients of multilevel cervical myelopathv with 3 or 4 consecutive segments were treated with selective anterior corpectomy combinedwith segmental discectomy and fusion. The clinical results were evaluated by the parameters including improvement of Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA)score postoperatively, fusion rate, and the degree of spinal canal decompression and range of motion of the cervical spine. Results JOA score were improved from 9.5±1.3 pre-operatively to 13.8±0.8(P<0.01)6 months post operation and 1 3.6±0.9(P<0.05)atthe final follow-up.Bony fusion was verified by X-ray and 3D-CT scan 1 2 months post operation and final follow-up.Moreover,the degree of decompression of the spinal canal was also remarkable. The range of motion of the cervical spine after operation decreased significantly(P<0.05).Conclusion Selective anterior corpectomy combined with segmental discectomy and fusion was an alternative choice for the surgical treatment of multilevel cervical myelopathy.

In order to investigate the comprehensive quality differences of the seeds harvested in different growing time, and offer theoretical guide for the optimization of seeds' production technology, we analyzed the apparent size, 1 000-grain weight, water absorbency, germination indexes, postharvest embryo rate change, relatively contents of coumarins and the yield of single plant of its seeds of different harvesting time, and compared their comprehensive quality by Topsis analysis. The results showed that there existed obvious differences in yield and quality between seeds of 3 harvesting times. While the harvesting time postponed, the yield of single plant raised, and the shrunken seeds rate decreased, the quality of seedlings increased, while the contents of coumarins showed a steady increase, and the germination rate decreased. The comprehensive quality of the seeds harvested in the black ripe time rank the first place, followed by the brown ripe time and the yellow ripe time. As the harvesting time delays, the seeds' comprehensive quality increases, therefore, we could put off the seeds' harvesting time properly for the high efficient seed production.

Objective To investigate the leukemia incidence among residents in the vicinity area of a nuclear installation. Methods The data were collected by the retrospective survey.Diagnosis is based on the medical records in all the relevant hospitals. The study area was those residential areas within 10 km of radium surrounding the installation. All residents who had lived in the study area for six months and over were recruited into the study group. Results The survey ascertained 643 newly diagnosed leukemia cases in the study area during 1997 to 2007.The crude rate was 2.51/100,000,and its standardized rate to national population structure was 2.53/100,000.The incidence rate in the study area was slightly lower than that in the whole city.No increase trend was detected during the period. Conclusions No significant difference of the leukemia incidence rate was found between the vicinity area of the nuclear installation and the whole city.

OBJECTIVETo explore material bases and neurobiological mechanisms of "Shen storing will" by observing learning and memory capacities and N-methyl-D-aspartic acid (NMDA) receptor expressions in Shen deficiency constitution (SDC) rats.
METHODSTotally 40 SD rats were randomly divided into the model group, the Zuogui Pill (ZP) group, the Yougui Pill (YP) group, the blank control group (consisting of normal pregnant rats), 10 in each group. SDC young rat model (inherent deficiency and postnatal malnutrition) was prepared by the classic way of "cat scaring rat". Medication started when they were scared by cat. Rats in the ZP group and the YP group were administered by gastrogavage with ZP suspension 0.1875 g/mL and YP suspension 0.0938 g/mL respectively. Equal volume of normal saline was administered to rats in the blank control group and the model group by gastrogavage. All medication was given once per day, 5 days in a week for 2 consecutive months. Learning and memory capacities were detected by Morris water maze test. Expressions of NMDA receptor subunits NR2A and NR2B in hippocamus were detected by immunohistochemical method.
RESULTSCompared with the blank control group, the latency period, total distance in Morris water maze test were longer in the model group (P < 0.05). All the aforesaid indices all decreased in the ZP group and the YP group, with statistical difference when compared with the model group (P < 0.05). The protein expressions of NR2A and NR2B in hippocamus were lower in the model group than in the blank control group (P < 0.05). But when compared with the model group, they were obviously higher in the ZP group and the YP group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSSDC rats had degenerated learning and memory capacities and lowered NMDA receptor expressions. ZP and YP could up-regulate learning and memory capacities and NMDA receptor expressions, thereby improving deterioration of brain functions in SDC rats.

The study was using the orthogonal test and making the extraction rates of icariin, ferulic acid, epimedin A, epimedin B, epimedin C, baohuoside I and ligustilide determinated by HPLC multiwavelength switch, gradient elution and multi-index comprehensive weighted scoring method (weight coefficient was 0.47: 0.16: 0.07: 0.07: 0.08: 0.06: 0.09) as evaluation index, combine with SPSS 16.0 software to optimizing the best extraction. It was Yinpian soak 1 h, 12 times more than the volumn of 50% ethanol solution, by heating reflux extraction for 60 min. The compliance test indicates that the optimized compatibility extraction technology is stable and practical, and it has provided an experimental basis for compound preparation technology research of Epimedium brevicornu and Ligusticum chuanxiong.
