Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(11):-
Objective To investigate the polysaccharides constituents from the transgenic crown gall cultures of Panax quinquefolium. Methods The crude polysaccharides PPQ50 and PPQ70 were extracted by water-ethanol method from the crown gall of P. quinquefolium. Four polysaccharides, named PPQ50-1, PPQ50-2, PPQ70-1, and PQ70-2, were isolated and purified by DEAE Sepharose and Sephacry S-100 column chromatography. Results The homogeneity of four polysaccharides was examined by gel chromatography and polarimetry. Their molecular weights were determined by gel filtration chromatography. They were 4.7?104, 2.9?105, 7.5?104, and 1.3?105, respectively. The sugar composition was analyzed by HPLC. The polysaccharides are mainly composed of neutral sugar particularly of D-glucose. The structure elucidation of PPQ50-2 was also supported by 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectroscopy. Conclusion All of the four polysaccharides are first isolated and purified from the transgenic crown gall cultures of P. quinquefolium. The result shows the PPQ50-2 and PPQ70-2 are both glucans.

Clinical Medicine of China 2011;27(3):256-259
Objective To evaluate the effect of permanent right ventricular apical (RVA) pacing in different cumulative percent of right ventricular pacing( CUM% VP) on the heart function and cardiac ventricle structure in subjects with normal basic heart function. Methods Patients who had implanted pacemaker when heart function was still normal were recruited in the study while they revisited for replacement or examinations of implanted pacemaker at outpatient. According to different CUM% VP, patients were divided into group A ( CUM% VP≥85% ,n =78) and group B( CUM% VP≤40% ,n =63) . The primary composite endpoint was defined as new-onset heart failure, death, left ventricular ( LV ) dysfunction and remodeling. The occurrence of endpoints were compared between the two groups. The left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and interventricular septum(IVS) were measured through baseline and follow-up, their absolute alterations ( △ LVEF, △ LVEDD and △ IVS ) were observed. Results The mean duration of two assessment was 7.4 years in group A and 7.7 years in group B, respectively. Before pacemaker implantation, there were no differences in age, sex, basic diseases, cardiac function and constituent ratio of pacemakers between the two groups. By comparing the outcomes of group A with those of group B at the end of follow up, we found that: △ LVEDD in group A was significantly larger than that in group B ( [3. 8 ± 0. 5] mm vs [1.4 ± 0. 4] mm,t = 4. 540,P < 0. 01 ), △ LVEF was ( - 6.5 ± 1.2) % and ( - 3.3 ± 1.0) % in group A and B, respectively, with significant difference between the two groups(t = 2. 578 ,P <0. 01 ). There were no significant difference in AIVS between the two groups. No death occurred in both group at the end of follow up. The incidence of LV dysfunction and remodeling was 25.6% (20/78) in group A,which was significantly higher than that of 6.3% (4/63) in group B( x2 =9. 183 ,P =0. 002). and the incidence of new-onset heart failure was 10. 3% (8/78)in group A,which was significantly higher than that of 1.6% (1/63) in group B (x2 =4.383,P =0.036).Conclusion Among patients with normal basic LV function who underwent permanent RVA pacing, there are potential risk in developing LV remodel, function damage and heart failure. The risk increases with the pacing time getting longer and CUM% VP getting higher.

In order to explore the environmental pest management method of Dorysthenes hydropicus, three strains of entomopathogenic nematodes, viz. Heterorhabditis bacteriphora (H06), Steinernema scapterisci (SS), S. carpocapsae (All) were used on larvae of Dorysthenes hydropicus, with treatments of 0, 5 000 and 10 000 nematodes each larva. The result showed that these three strains viz. All, H06 and SS had high lethal effects on the larvae. Lethal rates had dose-effects relationship with inoculation amounts. High dose treatments resulted in high mortalities and led to quick death, especially in the treatment of H06. Treatment of H06 with 10 000 nematodes per larva resulted in 100% mortality after inoculated 4 days. Different strains of these nematodes had various lethal characters, H06 with only one peak mortality, the larvae died quickly after inoculated, while All and SS with 2 peak mortalities, there was a stable stage with low mortality between the 2 peak mortalities. Entomopathogenic nematodes could be used as a hopeful method for controlling of Dorysthenes hydropicus in fields.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2011;36(9):1137-1140
In previous studies, four endophytic fungi were isolated from different swollen roots of Rehmannia glutinosa. It's thought that Ceratobasidium sp. , one of the discovered endophytic fingi, was a major promoter for the growth of the roots. In this study, symbiotic experiments were performed to measure the effects of different endophytic fingi cultivated with R. glutinosa. The results showed that the R. glutinosa had significant increases in the size of roots and amount of chlorophyll cultivated with Ceratobasidium sp. And it was tested that indoleacetic acid secreted by Ceratobasidium sp. maybe the effective factor for the promotion of the growth.

Chinese Journal of Modern Nursing 2020;26(4):462-468
Objective To understand the nutrition status in elderly patients with hip fracture, and clarify its effects on postoperative functional recovery, complications and mortality based on literature analysis of the past 10 years. Methods PubMed,Medline,Embase Database,Wanfang Database,Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)and China Biology Medicine disc(CBMdisc)were searched, and relevant researches published from 1st January,2010 to 31th May,2019 were collected. Single rate Meta-analysis was used to integrate the prevalence and mortality of malnutrition. A qualitative systematic review was used to analyze the relationship between nutritional status and prognosis after surgery. Results A total of 11 articles was included, including 21791 patients. Meta-analysis showed that the mean prevalence of malnutrition during hospitalization in elderly patients with hip fracture was 46%(95%CI:45%-47%)using serum albumin(ALB),and was 17%(95%CI:12%-22%)assessing by the Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA),and the risk of malnutrition prevalence was 42%(95%CI:45%-47%). The results of qualitative evaluation showed that compared with the well-nutrition group(Short-form MNA 12-14 points),the malnutrition risk group(Short-form MNA 8-11 points)had lower activity ability 4 months after the operation (OR=2.03,95%CI:1.24-3.31),and the MNA score decreased by 1 point, the risk of death increased by 15%(HR=0.869,95%CI:0.757-0.998). The malnutrition group(ALB<3.5 g/dl)had a higher incidence of sepsis (P< 0.001)and pulmonary infection(P=0.019),with every 1 g/dl reduction in ALB and 0.59-fold increased risk of death(RR=0.59,95%CI:0.53-0.65). Conclusions The incidence of hip fracture malnutrition or malnutrition risk is very high in the elderly patients with hip fracture. Both malnutrition and malnutrition risk have negative effects on postoperative functional recovery, complications and death rates, and the worse the nutritional status, the worse the prognosis. So,both ALB and MNA are recommended to be included in the care plan of elderly patients with hip fracture. When ALB is failed to diagnose malnutrition, the MNA evaluation method should be adopted to find the problems of nutrition and offer nutritional intervention in advance.
