Entamoeba is a zoonotic protozoan that can parasitize in the intestine and other organs in human and animals . There are many species in this genus ,but only Entamoeba histolytica can cause amebic colitis and liver abscess ,and even death .The cysts and trophozoits are difficult to be discriminated for pathogenic and nonpathogenic Entamoeba .And there is al-so difference in the pathogenicity ,infectivity etc .,even in the same species .Therefore ,it is difficult to confirm the Entamoeba species according to traditional method ,thus affecting the use of medicine .In this article ,the research progress of molecular examination and genotyping method about entamoeba are reviewed .

Objective To explore the significance on expression of mdr-1, P-gp and DNA heteroploidy in invasive bladder carcinoma. Methods The expressions of mdr-1 and P-gp were detected by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry(SP) method, and DNA ploidy by flow cytometry method in 26 cases of invasive bladder carcinoma tissues, which were compared with those in 10 normal bladder tissues. At the same time, the flow cytometry was used to determine DNA heteroploidy. Results A of mdr-1 in the neoadjuvant chemotherapy CR, PR, non-respond and control group were (0.61±0.75), (0.71±0.11), (1.68±0.28) and (0.745±0.13),respectively (P＜0.05). Positive rates of P-gp had significant differences between CR, PR and non-respondgroup and control group (P ＜0.05). Positive rates of DNA heteroploid in the above groups were 50 %, 45 %,69 % and 10 %, respectively (P ＜0.05). Conclusion The detections of mdr-1, P-gp and of DNA heteroploid contribute to evaluate neo-adjuvant chemotherapy effects of invasive bladder carcinoma.

We describe a 44-year old man who suffered an isolated external auditory canal granulocytic sarcoma in remission of acute myeloid leukemia. The patient confirmed acute promyelocytic leukemia three years ago and the disease was in remission after treatment. Two months ago he presented pain and hearing loss in the left ear and the symptom developed gradually. At otoscopic examination a tumoral lesion was noted in the external auditory canal and computerized tomography scan showed a mass in the left external acoustic meatus without bone erosion.

OBJECTIVE: By analysing the video-nystagmography findings of positional tests,to evaluate the therapeutic effect of the patients with horikontal semicircular canal cupulolithiasis (HSC-Cup). METHOD: A retrospective study of 36 patients with HSC-Cup. The induced nystagmus in roll tests was recorded by videonystagmography, whose direction, latency, intensity and time characteristics were analysed. All of the 36 patients were treated with lying position avoiding normal side and oral-taken betahistine mesilate tablets. A week later return visits and curative effects evaluation were made. RESULT: Horizontal apogeotropic nystagmus was induced by turning left or right in HSC-Cup roll tests. The time of latency and duration turning to normal and lesion side were(0. 93 ± 0. 65)s and(1. 01 ± 0. 78)s, (100.58 ± 36. 56)s and (118. 65 ± 143. 71)s, which showed no statistically significant difference (P>0. 05). The duration of nystagmus was more than 60 seconds. The intensity of nystagmus turning to normal and lesion side were(45.58 ± 28.71)°/s and (20.42 ± 16. 64)°/s. The intensity turning to normal side was greater than lesion side obviously. The difference was statistically significant (P<0. 05). Twenty-three patients withright HSC-Cup, and 13 patients with left HSC-Cup were taken in count. They were treated with above methods and return visit a week later. Twenty-eight patients (77. 77%) were cured, 36 patients (100. 00%) were improved. There were 4 patients recurrence during the follow-up. CONCLUSION The direction and duration time of induced nystagmus are available to diagnose the HSC-Cup. The lesion side may determined according to the intensity of induced nystagmus. Lying position avoiding normal side and oral-taken betahistine mesilate tablets is an effective treatment methods for HSC-Cup.

This paper introduces the method of electron tomography three-dimensional reconstruction,which is widely applied in structural biology field and summarizes its advantages and disadvantages.The aim is to provide a reference for the application of the method.

Purpose To investigate the clinicopathologic features of calcifying aponeurotic fibroma (CAF). Methods The clinical and pathologic profiles of 6 cases of CAF were retrospectively analyzed. Results CAF appeared a firm, painless and slowly growing mass with a predilection for the distal portions of the extremities in young children and adolescents. Microscopically, the tumor consis-ted mainly of benign appearing spindle cells, chondroid cells and calcific debris. Immunohistochemically, the tumor cells were positive for vimentin, HHF-35, S-100, Calponin and CD68. Conclusion CAF is a rare, locally aggressive fibroblastic lesion. It can make an accurate diagnosis by integrating the clinical location with histopathological features. Repeated minor trauma to the extremities and some embryologic cell nests maybe its pathogenesis.

Objective To summarize the experience of surgical techniques and prevention of postoperative complications of giant intracranial meningiomas.Methods The clinical data of 32 patients with giant intracranial meningiomas were analyzed retrospectively.The cause of operative complications was analyzed and the experience was summarized.Results The meningiomas Simpson grade Ⅰ resection was 16 is.cases,grade Ⅱ resection was 9 cases,grade Ⅲ resection was 5 cases,grade Ⅳ resection was 2 cases.The postoperative complications included anemia was 14 cases,intracranial hemorrhage was 2 cases,severe cerebral edema was 4 cases,epilepsy was 3 cases,cerebral infarction was 2 cases,and recovered well after treatment.Conclusion Good surgical technique,advanced prevention of surgical complications,early diagnosis and treatment can significantly improve the prognosis.
