Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2010;14(16):2999-3002
OBJECTIVE:To explore the material features and biocompatibility of coronary artery stent and related complications following implantation.METHODS:The databases of CNKI and Medline were searched by the first author using key words of "coronary artery stent, material, biocompatibility and complications" both in English and Chinese.Meta analysis or repetitive studies were excluded, and 16 papers were included in this analysis.RESULTS:Stent materials play an important role in reducing inflammatory reaction and restenosis following stent implantation. As a medical material for humans, the features of stent should be meet the requirements of reliable distensibility, mechanical persistence, good flexibilit and geometrical stability, possible small diameter, excellent blood compatibility,as well as good corrosion resistance. All of these depended on the mechanical and physical features of materials.CONCLUSION:The study of drug-coating stent and drug-eluting stent reduced the restenosis rates following implantation, and the biodegradable stent also attracted more attention. When treating coronary heart disease with cardiovascular stent, the complications should be avoided except consideration of the successful rate of reperfusion.

The association of serum nesfatin-1 levels with insulin resistance and pancreatic β-cell function in gestational diabetes mellitus was investigated.Oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT) was performed in ninety pregnant women from 24,to 28 gestational weeks. They were divided into three groups according to OGTT:45 nomal controls,27 gestational diabetes mellitus with fasting plasma glucose (FPG) of 5.1 mmol/L to 7.0 mmol/L (GDM1),18 gestational diabetes mellitus with FPG more than 7.0 mmol/L (GDM2).Serum nesfatin-1 levels were significantly higher in patients with GDM1 and GDM2 than in controls (P<0.01),and in GDM2 group it was also higher than GDM1 group(P<0.05).Fasting serum nesfatin-1 was positively correlated with FPG,30 min plasma glucose,1 h plasma glucose,2 h plasma glucose, homeostasis model assessment for insulin resistance, and PGAUC,but negatively correlated with homeostasis model assessment for β-cell function.Furthermore, multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that FPG was the independent influencing factor of serum nesfatin-1 level.Nesfatin-1 was positively correlated with insulin resistance, while negatively correlated with pancreatic β-cell function.Nesfatin-1 may play a role in the pathogenesis of gestational diabetes mellitus.

As an important neurotransmitter, adenosine displays its functions by acting on the adenosine receptors. Recent studies have shown that the distribution, expression and balance among subtypes of adenosine receptors are closely related with cognitive activities, and changes of adenosine receptors play key roles in neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer's disease. It has been pointed out that prolonged activation of adenosine receptors by high level adenosine may lead to the disturbance of balance among adenosine receptor subtypes. This imbalance mainly performed as increased expression of A2a receptor and decreased expression of A1 receptor, and enhancement of the excitatory signals mediated by A2a receptor and weakened inhibitory signals mediated by A1 receptor. Changes of these two subtypes of adenosine receptors may lead to a lot of disorders of neurological activities which developed into dysfunction of cognition to the end. These findings imply that the potential of maintaining the balance among adenosine receptors on the treatment of AD would facilitate both the revealing of the mechanism and the cure of AD.

OBJECTIVE:To develop a capillary electrophoresis method for determing the enantiomer of ceftriaxone Na.METHODS:A chiral resolving agent,?-cyclodextrin,was employed as chiral additive for ceftriaxone Na enantiomeric separation by capillary electrophoresis. In different electrophoresis polarity mode, the effect of pH of background electrolyte and the concentration of ?-cyclodextrin were investigated.RESULTS:The optimal conditions for enantiomeric separation were as follows:separation voltage:28kV,buffer solution:NaH2 PO4 50mmol/L,?-CD 0.04mmol/L,Tirs 3.0mmol/L,pH7.15.CONC_LUSION:The method is simple, sensitive, rapid and accurate, and can be used for the quality control of ceftriaxone Na enantiomers. There was significant difference in contents of enantiomers of ceftriaxone Na between products of two factories. We suggest that a quality control method for ceftriaxone Na enantiomer should be established, which will provide scientific basis for quality control of drug and clinical choice of effective antibioties.

OBJECTIVE:To study the distribution characteristics of germacrone from zedoary turmeric oil (ZTO) in each tis-sue of mice, and to provide reference for further application of zedoary turmeric oil. METHODS:30 KM mice were given zedoary turmeric oil 0.5 mL;6 mice were randomly selected 1,2,4,8,12 h after medication, respectively. The contents of germacrone in heart, liver, spleen, lung and kidney tissues were determined by HPLC. 15 KM mice were selected, medication and sampling method were same as above;3 mice were collected at each time point respectively. The fluorescence intensity of germacrone in above sections were observed by fluorescence. The same number of mice were selected as control in 2 trials. RESULTS:The con-centration of germacrone in each tissue 1-4 h increased gradually as time and reached the peak value at 4 h. The contents of ger-macrone in liver and spleen were significantly higher than in heart and lung. The concentrations of germacrone in each tissue were ranked as liver>spleen>kidney>heart>lung. The results of fluorescence intensity observation was same as above results. CON-CLUSIONS:Results of 2 methods show same distribution characteristics of germacrone in mice tissues, and indicate that ger-macrone is distributed more in liver, spleen and kidney tissues and less in heart and lung.
