Background Clinical research showed that the corneal endothelial cell density value from different corneal specula microscopies exist diversity. The relevant literature of SP02,Tomey EM-3000 and SP3000P is still seldom up to now. Objective This research was to assess the repeatability of endothelial cell density measurements by SP02,Tomey EM-3000 and SP3000P respectively and the agreement among 3 kinds of endothelial microscopes.MethodsFifty-four healthy volunteers with the age 17-38 years old were included this research. The written informed consent was obtained from each subject before examination. The corneal endothelial cell densities in the right eyes were analyzed with SP02,Tomey EM-3000 and SP3000P respectively for 3 times under the automatic mode, and the analytical procedure of SP3000P measurement were divided into automatic mode SP3000P (A) and manual correction modes SP3000P( M).The repeatability of each specula microscopy was analyzed by calculating the intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) and coefficient of variation ( CV ),and the 95% confidence intervals and plotting Bland-Altman graphs were used to analyze the agreement among these methods.ResultsThe mean corneal endothelial cell densities in the population <24 years were significantly higher than the ones ≥ 24 years (t =3.692,P<0.05 ),but no statistical difference was found between different gender ( t =0.335,P =0.739 ).The mean corneal endothelial cell densities were ( 3058 ± 260 ),( 2954 ± 229 ),( 2668 ± 258 ),( 2734 ± 268 ) cell/mm2 ; the ICCs were 0.957,0.940,0.972 and 0.972 and the CV were 0.063,0.061,0.056,0.058 for SP02,Tomey EM-3000,SP3000P (A) and SP3000P ( M ) respectively. The 95% confidence intervals were ( - 100.8 - 306.8 ),( 162.6 - 617.4 ),( 109.9-494.1 ) and ( -0.6 - 132.6 ) cell/mm2 for between SP02 and Tomey EM-3000,SP3000P ( A ) and SP02,SP3000P(A) and Tomey EM-3000,SP3000P(A) and SP 3000P(M) respectively.ConclusionsSP02,Tomey EM-3000 and SP3000P(A) have good repeatability in the measurement of corneal endothelial cell density, however the outcome is different. Therefore,it is not interchangeable for the detection of corneal endothelial cell density. The differences of corneal endothelial cell density obtained from these instruments shall be paid high attention for their differences.SP3000P(A) and SP3000P(M) can be used interehangeably and SP3000P(A) is a preferable choice due to its convenience and quickness.

OBJECTIVE:
To study ApoB gene genetic polymorphism of Han nationality and Mongolian nationality in midwest area of Inner Mongolia.
METHODS:
Some unrelated individuals of Han nationality and Mongolian nationality in midwest area of Inner Mongolia were selected. Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism technology was used to check the presence of Xba I (X+) and EcoR I (E-) sites of rare alleles. The genotype frequency, allelic frequency and population genetics parameters were calculated.
RESULTS:
The frequencies of Xba I (X+) and EcoR I (E-) rare alleles were 2% and 4.6% in Han population. There was no Xba I (X+) or EcoR I (E-) rare alleles found in Mongolian nationality.
CONCLUSION
The allelic frequencies of ApoB gene Xba I and EcoR I sites are very different in different races. These sites may be used in identification of ethnicity.

'Bronze teeth' reflect the mechanical properties of natural teeth to a certain extent. Their mechanical properties resemble those of a tough metal, and the gradient of these properties lies in the direction from outside to inside. These attributes confer human teeth with effective mastication ability. Understanding the various mechanical properties of human teeth and dental materials is the basis for the development of restorative materials. In this study, the elastic properties, dynamic mechanical properties (visco-elasticity) and fracture mechanical properties of enamel and dentin were reviewed to provide a more thorough understanding of the mechanical properties of human teeth.

Background:Accumulating studies on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) support the involvement of hemodynamic factors in artery stenosis.Based on a patient-specific CFD model, the present study aimed to investigate the hemodynamic characteristics of transplant renal artery stenosis (TRAS) and its alteration after stent treatment. Methods:Computed tomography angiography (CTA) data of kidney transplant recipients in a single transplant center from April 2013 to November 2014 were reviewed. The three-dimensional geometry of transplant renal artery (TRA) was reconstructed from the qualified CTA images and categorized into three groups:the normal, stenotic, and stented groups.Hemodynamic parameters including pressure distribution, velocity, wall shear stress (WSS),and mass flow rate (MFR) were extracted. The data of hemodynamic parameters were expressed as median (interquartile range),and Mann-Whitney U-test was used for analysis.Results:Totally,6 normal,12 stenotic, and 6 stented TRAs were included in the analysis.TRAS presented nonuniform pressure distribution, adverse pressure gradient across stenosis throat, flow vortex, and a separation zone at downstream stenosis.Stenotic arteries had higher maximal velocity and maximal WSS (2.94 [2.14,3.30] vs.1.06 [0.89,1.15] m/s,256.5 [149.8,349.4] vs.41.7 [37.8,45.3] Pa at end diastole,P =0.001;3.25 [2.67,3.56] vs.1.65 [1.18,1.72] m/s,281.3 [184.3,3 64.7] vs.65.8 [61.2,71.9] Pa at peak systole,P =0.001) and lower minimal WSS and MFRs (0.07 [0.03,0.13] vs.0.52 [0.45,0.67] Pa,1.5 [1.0,3.0] vs.11.0 [8.0,11.3] g/s at end diastole,P =0.001;0.08 [0.03,0.19] vs.0.70 [0.60,0.81] Pa,2.0 [1.3,3.3] vs.16.5 [13.0,20.3] g/s at peak systole,P =0.001) as compared to normal arteries.Stent implantation ameliorated all the alterations of the above hemodynamic factors except low WSS.Conclusions:Hemodynamic factors were significantly changed in severe TRAS.Stent implantation can restore or ameliorate deleterious change of hemodynamic factors except low WSS at stent regions.
