The feasibility of frontal chromatography for determining the complexation stability constant KML and total mole of binding site Λo was demonstrated by the accuracy and precision binding experiments between metal ions (Cu2+, Ni2+ and Co2+) and chelating ligand (IDA), in which R2>0.98 and RSD <5%.To further prove the universality of the frontal chromatography, the changing rules of KML values between Cu2+, Ni2+, Co2+ and IDA, Asp, L-Glu were examined under NaAc-HAc, Na-PB and Tris-HCl buffer systems. The results showed that the binding strength of chelating ligands for metal ions followed IDA>Asp>Glu;binding strength of metal ions for chelate ligands followed Cu2+>Ni2+>Co2+;and the binding effect with NaAc-HAc buffer was the best.In aqueous solution, quantum computing of binding energy (ΔE) and gibbs free energy (ΔG) between chelating ligand and metal ion was performed at the M06/6-311++G (d, p) level.According to ΔE and ΔG, the binding rules between chelating ligand and metal ion were predicted theoretically. These rules were basically in agreement with above experimental results. The present work provided effective method for studying on binding characteristics of metal ions for aminocarboxyl chelating ligands, thus exhibited a good foundation for improving the stability of immobilized metal affinity chromatographic column and solving the leakage of metal ions from the column in the process of competitive elution.

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of acupuncture therapy for the rat model of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) combined with renal hypertension and try to explore its mechanism. Methods We randomly select 10 Wistar rats as the blank group and 40 rats were used to make the model groups, which were divided into simple diabetes group, simple renal hypertension group, the compound group with electroacupuncture and the compound group without elec?troacupuncture, with 10 rats in each group. After a high fat and sugar diet for 4 weeks, the Wistar rats were given strepto?zotocin i. p. injection to establish models of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Renal hypertension was developed by the“2K1C” im?proved method to make unilateral renal artery ligation?induced renal artery stenosis. Then, electroacupuncture treatment was performed on the rats for 2 weeks except the compound group without electroacupuncture. The changes of values of BP, FBG, Cr, BUN, glycated hemoglobin, renin and Ang II were recorded and analyzed. Results The values of BP, FBG, Cr, BUN, glycated hemoglobin, renin and Ang II in the compound group with electroacupuncture showed a significant re?duction compared with the compound group without electroacupuncture after 2 weeks (P<0?01), but there was no obvious changes in the values of Cr and BUN(P>0?05). Conclusions The blood glucose and blood pressure in the rat model of compound group can be reduced to a normal level with continuous electroacupuncture at bilateral acupoints Zusanli, and it can also be kept at a stable level after single electroacupuncture for 2-3 days. The acupuncture therapy is more suitable for early clinical treatment and can be used in basic research with advantages of economic, safe, no side effect and so on.

Objective In this study,we aimed at investigating the clinical, laboratory and management characteristics of adolescent-onset SLE patients compared with adult-onset SLE patients. Methods 470 fe- male patients with SLE were divided into two subgroups:adolescent-onset SLE patients and adult-onset SLE patients. The analyzed variables included clinical, laboratory parameters, damage index and outcome charac- teristics. Results In 470 female patients with SLE,there were 98(20.85%)adolescent-onset SLE patients. The following manifestations occurred more frequently in adolescent-onset SLE patients:malar rash, cutaneous vasculitis, proteinuria and abnormal liver function.Adolescent-onset SLE patients had more severe disease features and had significantly higher mean value of SLEDAI.Mortality was higher in adolescent-onset SLE pa- tients than aduh-onset SLE patients.Renal and blood system were the organs that most frequently involved. Conclusion Adolescent-onset SLE patients accounts for roughly 20.85% of all SLE cases. It is necessary to pay more attention to adolescent-onset SLE patients because the management for them is usually more difficult and the prognosis is usually poorer than aduh-onset SLE patients.
10.Retrospective analysis of placing short dental implants in the posterior areas
Chinese Journal of Stomatology 2010;45(12):708-711
Objective To evaluate the clinical results of placing short dental implants in the posterior maxillae and mandibles and investigate the effect of crown-implant ratio (C/I) on the outcome of implant-supported prosthesis. Methods A total of 65 patients received 98 short implants ( ≤ 8.0 mm length) placement. A total of 98 implants were placed and restored. Clinical examination and radiographs were performed. The length of the crown and implant were measured to determine the C/I. Results All of the 98 implants gained osseointegration and were restored. The C/I of 92 (94% of the total ) implants was greater than 1. No implants was found lost during the follow-up. Conclusions Placing short dental implants in the posterior areas had a predictable outcome in patients with decreased bone height. There are also avoidance of surgical procedures, the benefits of decreased treatment time and less discomfort for the patients.
