Chinese Journal of Diabetes 1994;0(01):-
Objective To find the best cut point of FPG to predict diabetes(DM) and impaired glucose tolerance(IGT) and to study its effects on the metabolism status. Methods The ROC analysis of FPG in 3189 citizens from some area of Chongqing without a previous history of diabetes was done by OGTT in a cross-section study. The metabolic features of impaired glucose regulation(IGR) and its subcategories were analyzed according to 5.6 mmol/L and 6.1 mmol/L as the FPG threshold for IFG.Results The areas under the ROC curve were 0.899 for diabetes and 0.728 for IGT.The cut point of FPG with the best equilibrium between sensitivity and specificity was 5.6 mmol/L for diabetes and 5.2 mmol/L for IGT.Among people whose 2 hPG

Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2003;0(07):-
Objective To study the heating effect on skin of the therapeutic sand used in the Uyghur medicine. Methods We have continuously collected data of the dynamically changing surface body temperature during the course of sand therapy. Having applied the surface skin response equations, we calculated the situational effects on surface skin tissue by examining different temperature fields and time segments. All the data was collected by a 2 700 type multichannel data collection apparatus. Results It was found that, in the period of mid June to mid August every year, the air temperature of the sand therapy facility was 40?2.3℃ at the time 15∶00 to 18∶00 in the afternoon and the sand used as a medicinal poultice could be maintained at the temperature of 38?4.6℃ at the depth of 20 cm from the surface of the sand. During the process of sand therapy, the skin surface temperature rises rapidly, up to 39℃,but the skin surface temperature falls subsequently, as the heat stimulates perspiration and the cooling effect of evaporation takes place to 36?0.32℃. Two to three hours later, the surface skin temperature gets stable and maintained at 36?0.6℃. Conclusion When the sand temperature reached 43℃, it could not hurt the skin and tissue, because the body temperature could balance with sand temperature at an ideal temperature for the skin. The ideal time for sand therapy is during the period from June and August, at 15∶00~18∶00 every day. When the air temperature reaches 40?2.3℃, the sand temperature will be below 38?4.6℃. Under these conditions the human body should be buried under the sand at the depth of 20 cm for a period of one half to one hour to achieve therapeutic effects.

Objective To establish a quality standard of Hovenia dulics Thunb. Method The presence of quercetin was identified and assayed by TLC and HPLC, respectively. Result Linearity of marker was obtained over the range of 1.32 ~ 5.28 ?g (r =0.9999). The average recovery rate was 98.78% (RSD=1.08%). Conclusion TLC is specific. The method of quality is accurate, reappearance, simple, rapid, and suitable for the quality control of Hovenia dulcis Thunb.

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of closed negative pressure drainage(VSD) in the treatment of elderly patients with abdominal trauma and infection. Methods 82 elderly patients with abdominal trauma and infection were selected into clinical research, they were divided into two groups according to the treatment time number.41 cases of odd numbers were in the control group, they were given conventional dressing change and antibiotic therapy.41 cases of double numbers were in the observation group, they were given VSD therapy and antibiotic therapy. The clinical efficacy and safety after treatment was evaluated. Results The daily volume of the observation group [(48.67 ± 3.87) mL] was significantly increased compared with the control group, the dressing times [(8.59 ±1.04) times],hospitalization time [(18.33 ± 1.50) d] were significantly reduced compared with the control group, the differences were statistically significant(t =8.56,7.88,6.74,all P < 0.05).The VAS score after treatment of the observation group was (3.38 ± 0.51)points,which was significantly lower than those before treatment and of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (t =8.06,7.56,all P < 0.05).The infection control rate of the observation group was 92.68%,which was higher than that of control group, and the incidence of adverse reactions of the observation group was 4.88%,which was lower than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(x2 =6.87,7.69,all P < 0.05).Conclusion The effect of vacuum sealing drainage technique in the treatment of elderly abdominal trauma and wound infection is significantly,it can effectively control the infection, reduce the number of dressing, relieve the pain of patients, and has the advantages of simple operation, high safety, which is suitable for promotion and application.

Abstract?AIM:To evaluate the effect of combined glaucoma and cataract surgery on the function of eye surface and tear film.?METHODS:This clinical trial involved 75 patients ( 75 eyes ) with glaucoma complicated with cataract undergoing combined glaucoma and cataract surgery. All the eyes were divided into surgical group ( the eyes undergoing operation ) and control group ( the other eyes). The symptoms and signs of dry eye disease, Schirmer's I test, break -up time ( BUT ) , corneal fluorescein staining were tested and marked 1mo after operation.Comparison of the results was made between two groups.?RESULTS:The average intraocular pressure was 16.25± 0.46mmHg at 1mo after operation, compared with 45.29± 4.39mmHg at 3d before surgery, the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05 ).Preoperative average visual acuity was 0.08±0.06, corrected visual acuity was<0.05 in 23 eyes,≥0.05 to<0.1 in 16 eyes,≥0.1 to<0.3 in 36 eyes.Postoperatively 1mo, corrected visual acuity:<0. 05 for 7 eyes (9%),≥0.05 to <0.1 for 11 eyes (15%), ≥0.1 to<0.3 for 38 eyes (51%), ≥0.3 to <0.5 for 11 eyes (15%) , ≥0.5 for 8 eyes (11%), postoperative visual acuity was 0.15 ±0.1, which was significantly higher than before surgeries ( P<0.05).The postoperative dry eye symptoms of surgical group was higher, compared with that of control group, and the differences of diagnosis of dry eye test indicators between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).? CONCLUSION: Combined cataract and glaucoma surgery may affect postoperative ocular surface and tear film function, make the tear film stability damaged and lead to dry eye disease.
