The frequent co-occurrence of metabolic syndrome (MS) and mental disorders has become increasingly common, which is known clinically as comorbidity. Epidemiological survey showed that schizophrenia and mood disorders are the most common co-existing psychiatric disorders of metabolic syndrome. The pathogenesis of comorbidity of mental dis-orders and MS is related with hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis dysfunction, unhealthy lifestyles and related applications of antipsychotics. An important reason for the metabolic syndrome associated with schizophrenia is heredity. However, in-flammation is the key factor in the relationship of mood disorders and MS. The intervention of unhealthy lifestyle, psychologi-cal counseling and rational use of drug should all be included in the treatment of comorbidity of psychiatric disorders and MS. The follow-up of metabolic index in psychiatric patients and psychological conditions in patients of MS should be paid more attention during the whole course of treatment.

Objective To investigate the biokinetics of 131 I and its absorbed dose in patients with metastatic DTC. Methods Forty?one patients with metastatic DTC who were referred to 131 I therapy were prospectively recruited from September 2009 to September 2011. Scintigraphic images were serially acquired after the ingestion of 131I (3.70-9.25 GBq) to assess the biokinetics. CT was used to measure the masses of the DTC lesions. Calculation of absorbed doses to DTC lesions was based on the Medical Internal Radiation Dosimetry formula of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging. Kruskal?Wallis rank sum test was used to compare the differences of absorbed dose among different tumor deposits. Results In total, 59 io?dine?avid metastatic lesions (35 in cervical lymph node, 17 in lung and 7 in bone) in 41 patients were evalu?ated and the mean absorbed dose of DTC lesions was (10.4±6.5) Gy/GBq, with range of 0.1 to 136.2 Gy/GBq. The median absorbed dose was 11.3 Gy/GBq for lymph node metastase, 10.1 Gy/GBq for lung metastases and 9.6 Gy/GBq for bone metastases. There were no statistically significant differences in absorbed doses a?mong the metastases of lymph node, lung and bone ( Z=0.907, P>0.05) . Conclusion A wide inter?lesion variation of absorbed dose to metastatic DTC is observed.

Objective To discuss the risk factors of C5 never palsy incidence after cervical open-door laminoplasty. Methods This study involved 254 patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy, who underwent expansive open-door lam?inoplasty in our hospital between January 2009 and December 2012. Patients were divided into two groups according to the incidence of C5 palsy after operation. Group A included 20 patients with C5 palsy and group B included 234 cases without C5 palsy. The risk factors for postoperative C5 palsy were compared between two groups. The factors may affect the inci?dence of C5 palsy were analyze. Results All cases received follow-up with an average follow-up time (24.9±2.6) months. Values of cervical curvature index (CCI), lamina open angles and spinal cord shift were significantly greater in group A than those of group B (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in preoperative intramedullary high signal, ossification of posterior longitudinal ligament and intervertebral foramen stenosis between two groups (P>0.05). Results of Logistic regres?sion analysis of multiple factors showed that lamina open angles, the pathogenic factors of C5 palsy included the spinal cord shift and postoperative CCI [OR(95%CI):2.035(1.684-2.359), 3.542 (2.465-9.254) and 9.126(4.425-17.273). Conclusion The angle of open door too large, CCI and spinal cord shift are risk factors for postoperative C5 palsy.

Objective To observe the Oncomelania hupensis snail control effects of molluscicides with different formula?tions in the ditch with unstable water level in field of marshland and lake areas,so as to provide the evidence for formulating the prevention strategies. Methods A drainage channel with O. hupensis snails in Jiangling County,Jingzhou City were selected as the study field, then it was divided into 6 segments, except 1 segment was treated as the blank control group for observing the natural mortality rate of the snails, the other 5 segments were treated as observation groups, where 4% niclosamide ethanol?amine salt powder,5%niclosamide ethanolamine salt granule,25%suspension concentrate of niclosamide ethanolamine salt, 26% suspension concentrate of metaldehyde and niclosamide ethanolamine salt,50% niclosamide ethanolamine salt wettable powder were applied respectively. Before and after the mollusciciding, the snail surveys were carried out through the systematic sampling method, and the short?and long?term effects of snail control were observed, and the mortality rates of the snails on the slope above the water level and those below the water level were compared. Results When 7 d and 15 d after mullusciciding, the mortality rates of snails on the slope above the water level in each observation group were 79.52%-97.87% and 90.43%-96.30%,respectively,when compared with those before mollusciciding, all the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.01). When 7 d after mullusciciding, the mortality rates of snails below the water level in each observation group were 17.11%-50.00%,which were all lower than those of the snails on the slope above the water level in the corresponding groups(all P<0.05);when 15 d after mullusciciding, the rates were 9.43%-95.24%,and those in 25%suspension concentrate of niclosamide ethanolamine salt,26%suspension concentrate of metaldehyde and niclosamide ethanolamine salt,50%niclosamide ethanol?amine salt wettable powder groups were all lower than those of the snails on the slope above the water level in the corresponding groups(all P<0.01). Compared with the densities of living snails before mollusciciding, those 6 months after mollusciciding in each observation group decreased by 70.21%-78.98%. Conclusions The molluscicides in the formulation of powders and granule are suitable for both the snail environment with or without water, while those in the formulation of suspension agents and wettable powders are suitable only for environments with water.
