Endotoxins are lipopolysaccharides ( LPS) , major component of out wall in Gram-negative bacteria. Often they are considered as "prime criminals" of triggering systemic inflaming reaction such as sepsis, bacteremia and so on. It was found in recent years that bactericidal/permeability-increasing protein, a 55kDa member of lipid-related protein family, was a kind of natural molecule of anti-infection and it has special endotoxin-neutralising activity and antibacterial activity. Comprehensive phase II/III clinical trials demonstrated the feasibility and safety of recombinant BPI. So pharmaceutical corporations are attracted to try to apply it to therapy.

Objective:To observe the the effects of sustained-release coatings of HU-308 on the biological characteristics of rat oste-oblasts(ROBs)on Ti surface.Methods:The heparin/chitosan sustained release coatings containing HU-308 at different concentra-tions were prepared by layer-by-layer assembly technology on the alkali-and heat-treated Ti surface.The alkali-and heat-treated Ti samples were randomly divided into six groups,the samples in C group were used as control,in P group were treated by heparin/chi-tosan coatings and in T1,T2,T3 and T4 groups were treated by heparin/chitosan sustained-release coating containing HU-308 at dif-ferent concentrations.The adhesion,proliferation and ALP activity of ROBs cultured on the coatings were assessed at different times. Results:The adhesion,proliferation and ALP activity of ROBs of T4 group (the impregnating concentration of HU-308 was 0.025 mg/L)were the highest.Conclusion:The sustained-release coating with low concentration of HU-308 may improve the adhesion , proliferation and ALP activity of ROBs.

Objective To investigate the effects of medium-and long-chain fatty acid triacylglycerols on lipid metabolism in different age's male subjects with hypertriglyceridemia.Methods A randomized double-blind and controlled clinical trial was carried out among 74 male cases with hypertriacylglycerolemia.They were divided into two groups,one group was randomized to taking long-chain fatty acid triacylglycerol oil(LCT),and the other one to medium-and long-chain fatty acid triacylglycerol oil(MLCT).All cases in two groups asked to consume 20～30 g oil daily.Anthrepometric measurements and blood biochemical variables were measured at the initial and final time of the study.Results There were 34 and 33 cases left in LCT and MLCT group,respectively.A greater extent of decrease in the levels of blood TG,TC,apoB,apoA Ⅰ,apoAⅡ,apoC Ⅱ,apoC Ⅲ,apoE and LDL-C in male subjects aged less than 60 years was found in MLCT group than in LCT group after 8 weeks study(P

Objective To test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of Profile of Fatigue Scale (PROF)among the patients with Sjogren′s syndrome. Methods The English version of PROF was translated into Chinese according to Brislin Translation Model. 107 patients with Sjogren′s syndrome were investigated to test its reliability and validity. Results The Cronbachαcoefficient , Guttman split-half coefficient, test-retest reliability and content validity of Chinese version of PROF were 0.976, 0.953, 0.872 and 0.875. Two factors were extracted by factor analysis and the cumulated variance was 80.75%. The structure of PROF was in line with the original scale. The criterion-related validity was 0.621 measured by comparing with visual analog scale of fatigue, and was -0.707 measured by comparing with vitality domain in the MOS item Short From Health Survey (SF-36). Conclusions The Chinese version of PROF has been proved to be reliable and valid. It can be used to measure the fatigue in Chinese patients with Sjogren′s syndrome.

Objective To investigate the effects of pulsed electromagnetic fields(PEMFs)on proliferation and differentiation of endothelial progenitor cells(EPCs).Methods EPCs were isolated from rat bone marrow by density gradient centrifugation.EPCs were exposed to PEMFs from the 5th day to the end of culture.MTT was used to measure the proliferation of EPCs.The expression ofⅧ-related antigen and NOS_3 was evaluated by flow cytometry. Results Compared with the control,the proliferating ability of EPCs exposed to PEMFs was stronger;the number ofⅧ-related antigen and NOS_3 positive cells increased significantly in EPCs exposed in PEMFs.Conclusion PEMFs promotes the proliferation and differentiation of rat bone marrow EPCs.

OBJECTIVE：To study the therapeutic effect and safety of domestic tolterodine tartrate in treating patients with urinary bladder overactivity.METHODS：56 cases of bladder overactivity were divided into two groups randomly：tolterodine and control(oxybutynin)group.The course of treatment was 6 weeks.RESULTS：The effect of tolterodine in treatment group was comparable to that of oxybutynin in control group,however,the adverse reactions in oxybutynin group were more common than those in tolterodine group.CONCLUSION：Tolterodine is a suitable drug to treat bladder overactivity.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the etiologic value of diarrheagenic E. coil harboring genomic O island 28(OI-28) containing five putative virulence genes (Z0608, Z0609, Z0615, Z0634 and Z0635), which were related to RTX (Repeat in toxin) toxin family isolated from children with diarrheal disease in Taiyuan.

METHODSIn the study, 257 fecal samples from children with diarrheal disease collected in Shanxi Children's Hospital. Diarrheagenic E. coli and enteropathogenic bacteria were isolated and identified by conventional bacterial culture and typing specific diarrheagenic E. coli (EPEC, EIEC, ETEC and EHEC) diagnostic serum, while diarrheagenic E. coli harboring genomic 01-28 containing five putative virulence genes (Z0608, Z0609, Z0615, Z0634 and Z0635) were detected by PCR and DNA southern blot hybridization.

RESULTS206 strains (80.16%) of enteropathogenic bacteria were detected from 257 children with diarrhea disease, containing 149 strains (57.98%) of diarrheagenic E. coli and 57 strains(22.18%) of other entero-pathogenic bacteria. Among 3 strains (2.01%) of EPEC, 2 strains (1.34%) of ETEC, 2 strains (1.34%) EHEC were detected by typing specific serum, while all of the 142 strains (95.30%) isolated were suspected to be diarrheagenic E. coli. 21 strains (14.09%) of diarrheagenic E. coil harboring genomic O1-28 containing five putative virulence genes (Z0608, Z0609, Z0615, Z0634 and Z0635) were detected by polymerase chain reaction and DNA southen blot hybridization, 8 strains (5.37%) of diarrheagenic E. coli containing only one genomic OI-28 virulence gene, 2 strains (1.34%) of diarrheagenic E. coli containing two genomic OI-28 virulence gene. 21 children with diarrhea diseases caused OI-28-harboring E. coli containing five important putative virulence genes were among 0 to 3 years old (80.95%). These children correlating with OI-28-harboring E. coli did not present special clinical symptoms or signs.

CONCLUSIONThe diarrheagenic E. coil harboring genomic OI-28 was one of the important etiology for children with diarrheal disease in summer season.

This report presented the endemic status of schistosomiasis in the People's Republic of China at national level in 2013. By the end of 2013,there are 184 943 schistosomiasis japonica cases. Meanwhile,nine acute cases were reported,and 4 cases reduced compared with that of 2012. A total of 29 796 advanced cases were reported;while 911 cases were determined as advanced cases and 1 700 cases were dead in 2013. Nationally,there were around 365 467.99 hm2 Oncomelania snail infested areas in total and 9.25 hm2 of them habituated infected snails in 2013. There were 287.28 hm2 of snail infested areas found in non?endemic areas historically. Moreover,962 065 cattle were estimated to be raised in endemic regions and 633 cattle were deter?mined as positive by stool examinations. The data showed that the endemicity of schistosomiasis in China decreased further. How?ever,challenges exist to reach the aims of the medium and long term national program. Further control and effective surveillance need to be strengthened as the endemicity of schistosomiasis is unstable in the areas after schistosomiasis transmission under con?trol or interruption.

In order to explore the differences of chemical constituents of Paeoniae Radix Alba and Paeoniae Radix Rubra, a qualitative analytical method of liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS) was developed for identification of multi-constituents and an HPLC-DAD analytical method was developed for simultaneously determining 14 major compounds (gallic acid, protocatechuic acid, paeoniflorin sulfonate, protocatechuic aldehyde, methyl gallate, oxypaeoniflorin, catechin, albiflorin, and paeoniflorin, ethyl gallate, benzoic acid, pentagaloylglucose, benzoyl-paeoniflorin, and paeonol) in Paeoniae Radix Alba and Paeoniae Radix Rubra. Q-TOF/MS qualitative analysis was performed under negative ion mode and inferred 38 components of Paeoniae Radix Alba and 30 components of Paeoniae Radix Rubra. HPLC-DAD quantitative method result showed the contents of 8 ingredients were different between Paeoniae Radix Alba and Paeoniae Radix Rubra. The results indicated that the new approach was applicable in qualitative and quantitative quality control of Paeoniae Radix Alba and Paeoniae Radix Rubra.

OBJECTIVETo observe the therapeutic effect of moxibustion on AIDS patients of spleen-kidney yang-deficiency.

METHODSSixty-six cases of AIDS were divided into a treatment group and a control group, 33 cases in each group. All of the patients were treated with HAART, with moxibustion at Tianshu (ST 25), Shenque (CV 8), Zhongwan (CV 12), Guanyuan (CV 4) added in the treatment group for 3 months. Clinical symptoms and cell immunity were recorded before and after treatment.

RESULTSAfter treatment, the effective rate was 90.9% in the treatment group, which was better than 66.7% in the control group (P < 0.05). The improvement of the score for clinical symptoms in the treatment group was superior to that in the control group (P < 0.01). After treatment, the CD4 lymphocyte counts increased in the two groups, with no significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). Additionally, increase of total lymphocyte count in the treatment group was superior to that in the control group (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONMoxibustion can increase the therapeutic effect of HAART on AIDS patients and increase the total lymphocyte count.
