Objective To investigate the expression of tumor suppressor gene p16~(INK4A) in mouse endometrium during the estrus cycle and early pregnancy and its possible role in blastocyst implantation. Methods Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) was used to detect the expression of p16~(INK4A) mRNA,immunohistochemistry and Western blotting were applied to detect p16~(INK4A) protein in mouse endometrium tissues during the estrus cycle and early pregnancy. Results The intensity of p16~(INK4A) mRNA expression in mouse early pregnancy was higher than that in the estrus cycle.Compared with the other 3 stages, the level of p16~(INK4A) mRNA expression at estrus was obviously higher. During the early pregnancy, the level of p16~(INK4A) mRNA expression increased steadily from day 2 to day 5,reaching the maximal level on day 5,then decreasing. Both immunohistochemical and Western blotting analysis showed the same results in expression patterns of p16~(INK4A) protein for mouse endometrium tissues as those results of RT-PCR.Conclusion p16~(INK4A) is involved in the embryos penetrating into the endometrial barrier.

Objective To investigate the characteristics of mental rotation in stroke patients and the relationship between mental rotation and visual-spatial cognitive function. Methods From March, 2012 to October, 2013, 30 stroke patients were selected as experimental group and 30 healthy subjects as control group. They were tested with hand mental rotation task, and assessed with visuospatial abilities from Mon-treal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). Results The reaction time of hand mental rotation task was significantly longer in the experimental group than in the control group (F=95.6, P<0.001). The reaction time was longer with the increase of rotation angle in both groups, and was the longest as 180° of rotation (F=345.672, P<0.001). The response accuracy rate of hand mental rotation task was significantly lower in the experimental group than in the control group (F=6.444, P<0.05). The response accuracy rate was lower with the increase of rotation angle in both groups, and was the least as 180° of rotation (F=102.911, P<0.001). The reaction time negatively correlated with the score of visuospa-tial abilities, while the response accuracy rate positively correlated with it in the stroke patients (P<0.05). Conclusion The mental rotation ability is impaired in stroke patients, however, the respondent pattern is similar to healthy people. The mental rotation ability is correlated with visual-spatial cognitive functions in stroke patients.

AIMTo study the characteristics of the interaction between insulin and liposome.
METHODSThe interaction between insulin and liposome was studied by fluorescence spectra and microcalorimetry methods. The sample of insulin liposome interaction after separation by supper-centrifugalization or gel filtration was determined by fluorescence and HPLC.
RESULTSThe results indicate that there was only little increase in fluorescence intensity and no blue shift of peak in fluorescence spectrum. Fluorescence quenching experiments with NaI and acrylamide as quenchers showed that the KSVs (the slope of Strm-Volmer equation) of insulin were more similar to that with added liposome, indicating low interaction between insulin with liposome. The microcalorimetric results indicate that the heat released during the mixture of liposome with insulin, was 1.98 kcal.mol-1, suggesting that the reaction belongs to weak reaction. The quantity of insulin in the insulin-liposome mixture sample after separation by ultracentrifuge or by Sephadex G-75 determined by HPLC, the combination percent was only 0.2%, indicating low interaction between insulin and liposome.
CONCLUSIONThe interaction between insulin and liposome was weak.

Objective To understand the application of drug eluting stent (DES) in renal functional insufficient patients, and to assess its safety and effectiveness, especially the occurrence of stent thrombosis(ST) after DES implantation and its related factors. Methods The subjects were all the patients underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) as well as at least one DES admitted to Beijing Anzhen Hospital consecutively from July 2003 to June 2005. All patients were divided into 2 groups: Group Ⅰ with normal or mild renal insufficiency (Ccr≥60 ml/min),and Group Ⅱ with moderate to severe renal functional insufficiency (Ccr < 60 ml/min). All of the clinical, angiography and intervention data were recorded. ST was adjudicated by the definition of ARC Dublin. The rates of MACCE in hospital and during the follow-up between the 2 groups were compared. Results There were 2377 patients enrolled in the study, of which 2020 ( 85.0% ) patients presented Ccr ≥ 60 ml/min, and 357( 15.0% ) presented Ccr < 60ml/min. The case fatality during follow-up in group Ⅰ was significantly higher than that in group Ⅱ (4. 5% vs. 1.2%, P < 0. 001 ). However, the incidences of ST were not significantly different between each stage of disease( P >0. 05 ). The results from Cox regression showed that renal functional insufficiency was not a risk factor of death, whereas multivessel coronary artery disease [OR = 1. 929(95% CI: 1. 178 -3. 157),P =0. 009] ,diabetes [OR = 1. 914(95% CI:1. 055 -3. 470) ,P =0. 033] and age [OR = 1. 051 (95% CI:1. 005 -1. 099 ) ,P = 0. 030] were independent risk factor of death after DES implantation in patients with moderate to severe renal functional insufficiency. Conclusions Compared with normal renal function or mild renal patients, the longterm case fatality is higher in moderate and severe renal functional insufficiency patients. However, the higher case fatality does not due to the increase of ST.

BACKGROUND:The electrospinning technique has been used to prepare biological scaffolds to simulate nano-fiber structure of extracelular matrix; therefore, widespread attention has been paid to the electrospinning technique in the field of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. OBJECTIVE: To review the articles about increasing electrospun nanofiber scaffold porosity, enlarging pore diameter, promoting cel infiltration with related technologies, in order to discover the most practical and economical technology. METHODS:The first author retrieved CNKI database, Wanfang database and PubMed with the keywords of “cel infiltration, 3D scaffold, electrospinning” in Chinese and English, respectively. Literature retrieval period was from January 2004 to October 2014. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Electrospinning technology is the most effective method for preparation of nanofiber scaffolds. Electrospinning scaffolds as tissue engineering scaffolds have become an issue of concern in the basic research year by year. However, the internal nano-scale pore of nanofiber scaffolds limits the cels to grow on the surface, so recent research has been focused on highly porous three-dimensional structure which can promote the permeable growth of cels instead of two-dimensional scaffolds. Several techniques have been used, which go from the adjustment of materials and speed of electrospinning to the applications of various kinds of complicated machines. However, the existing researches are stil not mature and stable, the majority of which are applied onlyin vitro as cel implantation or subcutaneous implantation in smal animals. The above-mentioned methods stil need long-term comparative studies to confirm the feasibility in the tissue-engineered repair of organs.
