The progressive injury of retinal ganglion cells ( RGCs) is a common occurrence in several eye diseases, which ultimately may lead to irreversible blindness. Currently, there are still no effective or ideal treatments for it in practice, however some recent studies show that stem cell transplantation may provide a promising new idea for neuroprotection and replacement of retinal ganglion cells. This paper will review the research progress of stem cell transplantation-based treatment.

Objective　To find out the morbidity and main pathogens of ventilator-associated pneumonia(VAP) in PICU.Methods　44 VAP cases were reviewed.Results　44 VAP cases were diagnosed and analyzed from 1998, 2 to 2001,1,the morbidity of VAP was 69.8%.The predominant pathogen was Pseudomonas aeruginosa.Conclusion　It has reference value in consideri ng the possible pathogens of pneumonia.

OBJECTIVE: To determine the prevalence of depression and anxiety in patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA), to investigate whether there is a difference in the prevalence of depression and anxiety between PsA and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients and to identify associated risk factors for depression and anxiety in PsA patients. METHODS: PsA and RA patients who visited Department of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology in Peking University First Hospital from May 2018 to Sep 2019 were recruited. Self-rating anxiety scale and self-rating depression scale were surveyed and compared between PsA and RA patients. Demographics and clinical features including age, gender, disease duration, disease activity score, psoriasis area and severity index (PASI), and medical application were collected. Power Doppler and grey-scale ultrasound of joints, tenosynovitis and enthesis were performed. Multivariate Logistic regression was used to identify the factors associated with mood disorders and the odds ratio of depression and anxiety between the PsA and RA patients. RESULTS: Among the 114 enrolled PsA patients, 37 (32.5%) had mood disorders, in which 36 (31.6%) with depression and 15 (13.2%) with anxiety. Compared with 201 RA patients, PsA patients showed greater odds for depression [adjusted OR (95%CI): 2.7 (1.1-6.4)]. Depression was more often observed in the PsA than in the RA patients (31.6% vs. 18.9%, P=0.011). The similar trend for anxiety was also observed, although the difference was insignificant (13.2% vs. 8.5%, P=0.185). Age (OR=0.95, P=0.008), psoriasis duration (OR=0.94, P=0.018), pain visual analogue scale (OR=1.47, P=0.011), PASI score (OR=1.07, P=0.007) and presence of ultrasound enthesitis (OR=4.13, P=0.009) were identified as factors associated with depression in the PsA patients. PASI score (OR=1.07, P=0.001) was identified as associated factor for anxiety in the PsA patients. CONCLUSION The prevalence of depression and anxiety is elevated in PsA patients. Depression is significantly more prevalent in PsA patients than in RA patients. Younger age, shorter psoriasis duration, worse pain and presence of ultrasound enthesitis are associated with depression, while severe psoriasis rash is associated with both depression and anxiety in PsA patients.

Background and Objective: Long-term use of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors can reduce the incidence of digestive cancers, such as colorectal cancers. Proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) is an important marker of cellular abnormal proliferation.This study was to evaluate the roles and correlation of COX-2 and PCNA in the onset and development of familial adenomatous polyposis(FAP) diseases.Methods: Thirty-six specimens of FAP adenomas tissues and 32 specimens of FAP carcinoma tissues from 11 FAP families, and 34 specimens of normal colonic mucosa were collected under colonoscopy from November 2004 to July 2007 in the General Hospital of Beijing Military Command.Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expressions of COX-2 and PCNA. Results: The positive expression rates of COX-2 in normal colonic mucosa, FAP adenoma,and carcinoma tissues were 0(0/34),80.6%(29/36),and 93.8%(30/32),respectively.Proliferation index (PI) in normal mucosa,FAP adenoma,and carcinoma tissues were 17.79±7.49,34.47±10.57,and 71.75±9.22,respectively.Expressions of COX-2 and PCNA were significantly higher in the FAP adenoma and the carcinoma tissues than in the normal colonic mucosa (P＜0.01). The expression of PCNA was significantly higher in the FAP carcinoma tissues than in the FAP adenoma (P＜0.01). The expression of PCNA was higher in the FAP adenoma tissues with positive COX-2 than in the FAP adcnorma tussues with negative COX-2 (P＜0.01). Conclusions: COX-2 may play an important role in the development of FAP adenomas and colorectal carcinogenesis. COX-2 and PCNA may be important factors in the research on colorectal precancerous lesions and interventional therapy for colorectal neoplasm.

AIM To analyze and compare HPLC fingerprints of wanai and Artemisiae argyi Levi.et Vant from thirty-one growing areas by multistatistical.METHODS The analysis of 80％ methanol extract of A.argyi was developed on a 30 ℃ thermostatic Agilent TC-C18 column (4.6 mm × 250 mm,5 μm),with the mobile phase comprising of acetonitrile-water (containing 0.2％ methanoic acid) flowing at 1 mL/min in a gradient elution manner,and the detection wavelength was set at 330 nm.RESULTS There were eighteen,twenty-five common peaks in the fingerprints of thirty-one batches of A.argyi,fifteen batches of wanai,respectively,with the similarities all more than 0.900.The similarities of thirty-one batches of samples from different growing area were good and together as a category except samples from Dengzhou city,Luohe city and Anhui province.Fifteen batches of wanai samples got together with Qiai among them.The cumulative contribution rate of the four principal components from A.argyi was 86.049％.Twelve batches of wanai samples had higher scores than Qiai.CONCLUSION This stable and reliable method can be used for the quality control of A.argyi.

Objective To analyze the clinical features,laboratory results,treatment and prognosis of children with idiopathic pulmonary hemosiderosis (IPH).Methods The documents of 25 children with IPH,who were hospitalized in Children's Hospital Affiliated to Capital Institute of Pediatrics from Apr.1992 to Nov.2008 were reviewed.Then some of the patients were followed up.Results The median age of onset was 4 years old (6.5 months to 8 years old).Those patients aged from 3 to 6 years old ranked the first as 48％ (12 cases).The median age at diagnosis was 5.17 years old.The course of desease was between 10 days and 6 years,the median course was 1 year.Cough,pallor,fever and hemoptysis were the common clinical features of IPH patients.The chest radiological patterns for IPH were diverse.The common features of high resolution CT scan in 15 patients included declined transparency and ground glass shadows in 11 cases,cloudy patchy infiltrate in 9 cases,reticular changes in 6 cases,and nodular changes in 2 children.Twentythree cases were once misdiagnosed and 60％ of them were delayed in diagnosis as IPH for more than 1 year.Glucocorticoid therapy was effective in improving symptoms.Some patients suffered from rheumatoid arthritis later in their life.Conclusions The manifestations of IPH in children are nonspecific,therefore it is easily to be misdiagnosed.Combined chest radiographic presentations with repeatedly looking for hemosiderin-laden macrophages in sputum,gastric aspirate or bronchoalveolar lavage fluid are helpful in diagnosis.Glucocorticoid therapy can control the symptoms.Some relationships may exist between IPH and rheumatoid arthritis.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the changes in peripheral blood Th17 and CD4(+)CD25(+) regulatory T (Treg) cells and their significance among children with hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD).

METHODSEighty-nine children with HFMD, including 55 cases of common HFMD and 34 cases of severe HFMD, were included in the study; and 30 healthy children were selected as the control group. The percentages of Th17 and CD4(+)CD25(+) Treg cells in CD4(+) T cells in peripheral blood were determined by flow cytometry. The expression levels of interleukin (IL)-10, transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β), and IL-17 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.

RESULTSCompared with the control group, the cases of common HFMD and severe HFMD had significantly increased levels of Th17 cells and IL-17 (P<0.05) but significantly decreased levels of CD4(+)CD25(+) Treg cells, IL-10, and TGF-β (P<0.05). The severity of the HFMD was positively correlated with the levels of Th17 cells and IL-17 in peripheral blood but negatively correlated with the levels of CD4(+)CD25(+) Treg cells, IL-10, and TGF-β.

CONCLUSIONSChildren with HFMD have increased response of Th17 cells but decreased response of CD4(+)CD25(+) Treg cells in peripheral blood. Th17/CD4(+)CD25(+) Treg cell imbalance may play an important role in the pathogenesis of HFMD.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the periodontal conditions after the wedge-shaped defect was restored by gingival retraction technique.

METHODSA total of 138 mandibular premolars with wedge-shaped defect were selected and divided into A, B groups. Group A was restored with Dyract after using retraction cord. Group B was directly restored with Dyract. Clinical parameters including plaque index (PLI), gingival index (GI), sulcus bleeding index (SBI), probing depth (PD), volumes of gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) and levels of aspartate aminotransferases (AST) of gingival crevicular fluid were measured at baseline, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after operation.

RESULTSThere was no difference in PLI, GI, SBI, PD between group A and B during 6 months after operation, while the difference of GCF and AST was significant between group A and B at 3 months and 6 months after operation (P < 0.05, P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONSGingival retraction technique applied in wedge-shaped defect restoration can reduce the damage to the periodontal tissue.

OBJECTIVETo observe effectiveness and safety of electroacupuncture at Neimadian for analgesia in the extremities after orthopedic operation.

METHODSTwo hundred cases enrolled were divided into two groups. The test group of 100 cases were treated with electroacupuncture at Neimadian and oral administration of placebo, and the control group of 100 cases with oral administration of tramadoli hydrochloride.

RESULTSThe mean score for pain signs at all the time points before and after analgesic treatment in the test group had more decreases as compared with the control group (P < 0.001); and in the good rate after treatment, the test group was higher than the control group (P < 0.001, P < 0.05), and for safety, the test group was higher than the control group (P < 0.001).

CONCLUSIONThe analgesic effect and safety of electroacupuncture at Neimadian are superior to the routine analgesic after operation of the extremities.
