Objective To explore the effects of isoflurane on blood plasma metabolites (BPM) and its correlation with cognitive dysfunction.Methods Thirty female Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into two groups:rats in the control group (n =10) received 80％ oxygen for 2 hours (h);and rats in the isoflurane-treated group (n =20) were anesthetized with isoflurane and 80％ oxygen for 2 h.Cognitive functions were examined using a Y-maze test to explore the learning times of rats.The level of blood plasma metabolites was detected through gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GCMS).Results The learning times of rats in the isoflurane-treated group was more than the learning times of rats in the control group [(70.75 ± 15.30) vs (45.40 ± 11.21),P ＜ 0.05].D-fructose,arabinofuranose,n-butylamine,and inositol significantly increased (P ＜ 0.05),respectively.Whereas,L-analine and L-proline significantly decreased (P ＜ 0.05) in isoflurane-treated rats when compared to those in the control rats (P ＜ 0.05).Moreover,plasma concentrations of d-fructose,arabinofuranose,n-butylamine,inositol,and L-proline were positively correlated with the degree of cognitive dysfunction in the isoflurane-treated rats.Conclusions Changes of plasma concentrations of inositol,and d-fructose in aged rats are useful in predicting the occurrence and progression of post-anesthesia cognitive dysfunction.

Objective　To study the relationship between the stress-related psychosocial factors and the psychosomatic symptoms of sterilized women. Methods　120 sterilized women were assessed with Symptom Check List 90(SCL-90),Social Supports Questionnaire(SSQ),Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ),Psychosocial Stress Scale for Group(PSSG)and a self-developed preoperative cognition scale.Data were analysed with SPSS. Results　There was a significant correlation between scores of psychosomatic symptoms and stress-related psychosocial factors such as EPQ-N,subjective social support(SSS),negative emotion(NE),positive emotion(PE),negative coping style(NC) and some negative characteristics of pre-operative cognition.Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that EPQ-N,PE and religion belief were in the equation. Conclusion　The results indicated that neurotic syndrome of sterilized women may be mediated or influenced by negative characteristics of cognition,emotion,coping style and personality.

Spore suspension of Streptomyce s griseus AS 818 (10 6/mL)was radiated b y Co 60 -radiation,the radiation dosage was 1?10 4rad.And 5 streptomy cin resis tant mutants (above 50?g/mL) were screened,then the resistant level of mutant RL-4 was induced to 100?g/mL.The number of RL-4 colonizing on soybean roots pl anted on 1% Water agar or in sterile soil was determined.The results showed tha t it could colonize on soybean rhizosphere and rhizoplane for a short period,bu t there is a little difference.When it was examined in 1% Water agar,the numb er of RL-4 raised gradually in soybean rhizoplane in 4 weeks.But when examined in sterile soil,RL-4 reduced about 100 times at the 1 st week,then raised gradually and reached the highest point at the 3 rd week,and decreased aga in at the 4 th week,In the rhizoplane,it reduced gradually from the 1 st week,and couldn't be examined at the 4 th week. Mutant RL-4 couldn't be found in soybean endorhizosphere by tissue printing.

Objective To investigate the chemopreventive potential of salvianolic acid B against 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene(DMBA)-induced hamster buccal pouch carcinogenesis with respect to angiogenesis. Methods(Sixty) male Syrian golden hamsters were randomly divided into 4 groups(group A and B,n=20;group C and D,(n=10).) DMBA solution(0.5% in acetone) was applied topically to the right cheek pouch of male Syrian golden hamsters in group A and B,while animals in group C were painted with acetone,3 times a week for 6 weeks.Animals in group D received neither DMBA nor acetone in the first 6 weeks.Two days after the last treatment of(DMBA,) animals in group B and D received salvianolic acid B daily(10 mg/kg) by gavage,while animals in group A and C received same volume of saline,for the next 12 weeks.At the end of the experiment,animals were sacrificed and tissue samples were collected for histopathological and immunohistochemical examination. Background The commonly used method of typing the adenovirus (AdV) for epidemic keratoconjunctivitis is direct DNA sequence.However,heteroduplex mobility assay (HMA) is found to be a faster method to identify the subtypes of adenovirus and is more conforming to the principle of cost and economic benefit.There are few studies to illustrate the application of HMA in epidemic keratoconjunctivitis.Objective This study analyzed the conserved region of hexon coding sequence and compared the outcomes between direct DNA sequence and HMA for classification of adenovirus in epidemic keratoconjunctivitis patients.The validity of HMA is evaluated by comparing the result of both studies Methods Two hundreds and fourteen patients with suspicious epidemic keratoconjunctivitis were included in Shanghai Eye Disease Prevention and Treatment Center or the clinical sites supervised by the Shanghai Prevention and Monitoring Office of Acute Hemerragic Conjunctivitis from January 2010 to December 2012.Sacconjunctival swab samples were collected from each patient under the informed consent.DNA of pathogens was extracted from the samples using QIA-amp minikit,and the conserved sequence with 366 bp at hexon protein coding region was amplified by PCR and sequenced subsequently to determine the infected adenovirus and their subtypes.These samples were simultaneously assayed by HMA,and the outcomes between DNA sequence and HMA were compared.Results Extracted DNA presented a yellow fluorescence band with the fragment size 35 kb and absorbance ratio at the wavelength 260 nm and 280 nm (A260/A280) was I.7.In the 214 samples,AdV type 1 (AdV1) was found in 4 samples,AdV2 in 33 samples,AdV3 in 15 samples,AdV4 in 12 samples,AdV8 in 19 samples,AdV19 in 15 samples and AdV37 in 8 samples.HMA showed the same outcome for the identification of AdV1,AdV2,AdV3,AdV8,AdV19 and AdV37 with direct DNA sequence.AdV4 was not feasible to HMA owing to 59.6％ (over 10％) mutation sites.Conclusions Direct DNA sequencing for conserved regions in coding sequence of hexon is an important way to identify causing-disease adenovirus subtypes in the patients with epidemic keratoconjunctivitis.HMA can offer a consistent result with the DNA sequencing,and it might be used as a suitable tool for large-scale molecular epidemiology researches.
