OBJECTIVE:To establish an RP-HPLC method for the determination of Berberine hydrochloride in Keyang-min tincture.METHODS:The sample separation was performed on Agilent Eclipse XDB C18(250 mm?4.6 mm,5 ?m),and the mobile phase was acetonitrile-5 mmol?L-1 perfluorooctane sulfonate(32∶68) at flow rate of 1 mL?min-1.The detection wavelength was 346 nm and the temperature of column was 35 ℃.RESULTS:The linear range of Berberine hydrochloride was 0.059 2～0.888 3 ?g(r=0.999 9).The average recovery rate was 99.71%(RSD=1.18%,n=6).CONCLUSION:The met-hod is sensitive,accurate,and reproducible,and suitable for the determination of Berberine hydrochloride in Keyangmin tincture.

OBJECTIVE:To study the effect of Hordeum vulgare on hormone level in male mice.METHODS:Male mature mice(5～6 months) were treated with Hordeum vulgare decoction 1 mL(equivalent to 0.5 g?mL-1 crude drug) bid for 14 consecutive days.Follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH),estradiol(E2) and testosterone(T) in blood were monitored.RESULTS:In Hordeum vulgare group compared normal control,serum E2 increased significantly,serum level of testosterone decreased significantly,while FSH and LH levels remained stable.CONCLUSION:Hordeum vulgare can influence the hormone level in male mice by influencing the gonad axis of the mice.

Objective To find out the status of nosocomial infection management in hemodialysis sections, in order to encourage their continuous quality improvement and standardize their management Methods 41 hemodialysis sections with (≥) 3 dialyzers and independent operation were chosen for investigation. On-site investigation and environmental microbiology monitoring combined. Results The higher the level of the hospital, the better the nosocomial infection control in its implementation of the infection control measures. In terms of rules and regulations, incompliant secondary hospitals and private hospitals accounted for 56. 2% of hospitals of the same ranking; in terms of layout and processes, 75% are found incompliant; and various defects are found in the dialyzer reuse management and disinfection in tertiary and lower hospitals. As to hand hygiene of the staff, the incompliance rate is over 55%. As indicated in the results of microbial environment monitoring, the compliance rate of dialysis water is over 90%, that of dialysate is 78.6% ～ 86.2%, and that of hand disinfection is 56.6%～78.6%.Conclusion It is imperative to strengthen the supervision of secondary hospitals and private hospitals,and to train their staff in the knowledge of hand hygiene and nosocomial infection in hemodialysis rooms.Hospitals found with poor infection management will be encouraged to take issue-specific actions for rectification.

Purpose To study the spiral CT (SCT) appearances of pleural plaques,to improve the accuracy of diagnosis and differential diagnosis,and to evaluate clinic application.Materials and Methods The SCT appearances in 42 cases with pleural plaques were analysed retrospectively,which closed met with asbestos dust.Results SCT showed 407 pleural plaques in 42 cases,of which there were hyline / uncalcified pleural plaques (n=250),calcified pleural plaques(n= 36),mixed pleural plaques(n=121);unilateral pleural plaques (n=10),bilateral pleural plaques (n=32);single pleural plaque in 5 cases,multiple pleural plaques in 37 cases.The largest pleural plaque was 4.2cm×1.2cm.There were a lot of shapes of the pleural plaques.Various shapes of calcifications could be showed in the calcified or mixed type pleural plaques.The pleural plaques distributed in the middle-inferior part,anterior / posterior-lateral chest wall,underlying the ribs in 28 cases (66.6 %),both bilateral domes of diaphragm in 10 cases and mediastinal pericardium in 4 cases.The pleural plaques associated with pulmonary intertitial fibrosis in 4 cases.No cases in the apices / costophrenic angles.No enhancement of pleural plaques in 6 cases which were administrated contrast scan.Conclusion SCT can clearly show the distribution,extention,shape,size,density and relation to adjacent tissues of the pleural plaques,and with asbestos exposure history,can make a diagnosis and differential diagnosis from other pleural thickened lesions.SCT is the best choice of imaging methods for asbestosis and pleural plaque.

Objective To investigate the effect of chain management on education among hypertensive patients of the community. Methods A total of 144 cases of hypertension patients in community were selected as the research objects, they were divided into the control group(72 cases, from February to July 2015) and the countryside group (72 cases, from September 2015 to February 2016).The control group was given routine education, and the countryside group received education with chain management. The treatment compliance and blood pressure values were compared between the two groups before and after intervention. Results The score of patients behavior of drug compliance, adverse drug, self life management and cigarettes-alcohol addiction management after intervention in the countryside group were (20.32±4.41), (34.62±5.08), (41.27±3.54), (10.02±1.79) points, while they were (13.41±3.07), (26.23 ± 5.12), (39.78 ± 2.47), (7.94 ± 1.83) points in the control group. And the scores of the countryside group were significantly higher than those of the control group (t=2.930-9.864, P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and mean arterial pressure before the intervention between the two groups (P > 0.05). The systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and mean arterial pressure after intervention in the countryside group were (129.63 ± 8.07), (80.12 ± 7.62), (87.43 ± 9.35) mmHg(1 mmHg=0.133 kPa), while they were (135.42 ± 8.13), (87.56 ± 7.79), (99.31 ± 8.72) mmHg in the control group, and there were significant differences(t=4.295, 3.800, 9.201, P<0.01). Conclusions The chain management mode of community hypertension patients with education, can effectively improve the control of blood pressure in patients, improve the treatment compliance of patients.

Objective To explore the clinical manifestation,imaging features and treatment of primary lacri-mal gland epithelial tumor.Methods The clinical data of 25 cases with primary lacrimal gland epithelial tumors were retrospectively studied.Results All of 25 primary lacrimal gland epithelial tumor cases received surgical treatment. Fourteen primary orbital tumors cases were male and 11 cases were female.The mean age was 44 years old (ranged 23 to 65).The mean hospital stay was 12d(ranged 7 to 20).Among 25 primary lacrimal gland epithelial tumor cases, 11 cases were benign tumors which included 4 inflammatory pseudotumor,11 pleomorphic adenoma.Fourteen cases were malignant tumors which included 4 malignant pleomorphic adenoma,6 adenoid cystic carcinoma and 4 adenocar-cinoma.After opeation,visual acuity improved in 9 cases,unchanged 10 cases,decreased 6 cases.The patients were followed up for 16 -48 months(mean 27 months).There were 4 malignant tumors recurrence after operation and received radical operation.While 2 patients were lost and 2 patients died of tumor metastasis,the other 21 patients survived with tumor -free.Conclusion Primary lacrimal gland epithelial tumors have different clinical and imaging appearances.Combination of ultrasound,CT and MRI is important to ascertain the character,range and degree of primary lacrimal gland epithelial tumors.Surgical excision is the main and effective treatment for primary lacrimal gland epithelial tumors,while gamma knife treatment is safe and effective for malignant,unresectable,recurrences tumors.

Aim To establish and evaluate a mouse model of my-ocardial fibrosis by hypodermic injection of isoprenaline. Meth-ods Kunming mice were randomly divided into 2 groups, namely, the myocardial fibrosis model group and the control group, 10 mice in each group. The mice in the model group were given isoprenaline 5 mg · kg-1 by hypodermic injection. From the following day, the dose of isoprenaline was reduced to 2. 5 mg·kg-1 , and lasted for 30 days. The mice in the control group were treated with the physiological saline in the same way. Final-ly, heart weight was then weighed and the cardiac weight index (CWI) was calculated. Hydroxyproline (Hydro) level in myo-cardium was determined by a colorimetric method. HE and Mas-son’s trichrome staining were used to estimate the extent of myo-cardial fibrosis and calculate the collagen volume fraction ( CVF) . RT-PCR was used to measure the myocardial Collagen I mRNA expression. Results Compared with the control group, the CWI and Hydro content in the myocardial tissues in the model group were increased(P<0.01). The content of col-lagen in the myocardial tissues and the CVF were increased obvi-ously(P<0.01). The RT-PCR results showed that the left ven-tricle Collagen I mRNA expression in the model group increased obviously( P<0.01 ) . Conclusion Isoprenaline-induced myo-cardial fibrosis model has been established and the method is very simple, economic and reliable.
