OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for the content determination of ecdysterone in different parts of Radix serratu-lae. METHODS:HPLC was performed on the column of ZORBAX Eclipse XDB-C18 with mobile phase of methanol-water at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min(46∶54,V/V),detection wavelength was 248 nm,column temperature was 30℃,and the injection volume was 10 μl. Compare the contents of ecdysterone in different parts of R. serratulae. RESULTS:The linear range of ecdysterone was 0.12-1.21 μg;RSDs of precision, stability and reproducibility tests were lower than 1.5%;recovery was 98.4%-101.9%(RSD=1.64,n=6). The content of ecdysterone in roots was found at the highest level, followed by tubers, and lower in stems and leaves, and it was not detected in seeds. CONCLUSIONS:The method is simple and rapid with good accuracy and reproducibility, and suitable for the content determination of ecdysterone in different parts of R. serratulae. It is feasible to develop the medicinal parts of R. serratulae from roots to roots, flowers, tubers and buds on tubers.

To establish the HPLC fingerprints of Eucommia ulmoides at different ages of different varieties with pi-noresinol diglucoside as the reference material to provide the basis for the HPLC fingerprints in the enterprise quality standards of Eu-commia ulmoides from the GAP base of Chenzhou Dacheng Chinese Herbal Medicine Co. Ltd. . Methods: A column of ZORBAX E-clipse XDB-C18 (250 mm × 4. 6 mm, 5μm) was used. The mobile phase consisted of methanol-0. 1% phosphoric acid with gradient e-lusion. The detection wavelength was 277 nm, the column temperature was 25℃,the flow rate was 1. 0 ml·min-1 , and the injection volume was 5 μl. Results:The Eucommia ulmoides HPLC fingerprints including 14 common peaks were established with pinoresinol diglucoside as the reference material. The similarity of the HPLC fingerprints of 10 samples was over 0. 939. Conclusion:The method is accurate and reliable. The HPLC fingerprints can be used as the enterprise quality standards of Eucommia ulmoides for Chenzhou Dacheng Chinese Herbal Medicine Co. Ltd. .

Objective To explore the effects of a new simple device for blood collection by tail snipping in rats so as to provide a safe, practical and repeatable method. Methods The rats were held by simple devices which made from plastic bottles and block and treated by some moderate ways for blood collection. Results The device was easy to be made and handled. 20 rats could have 6 times of blood collec-tion by this device in one day. There was no mouse death and no person injure during the experimental course. Conclusion This device is a safe and ideal equipment for blood collection by tail snipping in rats.

Objective:To evaluate a novel distraction reductor in the surgical treatment of unstable distal radius fractures with metaphyseal volar comminution. Methods:From January 2019 to December 2020, 27 patients with unstable distal radius fracture complicated with metaphyseal volar comminution were treated at Department of Orthopaedics, Zhoupu Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Medicine & Health Sciences. They were 6 males and 21 females, with an age of (69.4±9.4) years. All fractures were unilateral and closed, involving the right side in 17 cases and the left side in 10 cases. All patients were treated by internal fixation with an anatomical locking plate through the volar approach and the novel distraction reductor was used to reduce the fracture ends. Regular imaging examinations were performed to evaluate the reduction, maintenance and union of fractures after surgery. One year after operation, the curative efficacy was assessed by evaluation of the range of wrist motion, Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) score, Gartland-Werley score and Bartra radiology score. Results:All the operations went on successfully with a duration of (92.3±8.9) min. All the incisions healed primarily. The follow-up time was (15.9±2.9) months. The radial height, palmar tilt, ulnar inclination and articular surface step-off immediately after operation [(11.23±1.51) mm, 12.10°±3.44°, 20.54°±3.44°, and (0.95±0.42) mm] were not significantly lost compared with those one year after operation [(11.22±1.55) mm, 12.07°±3.44°, 20.51°±3.33°, and (0.93±0.40) mm] (all P>0.05). One year after operation, the range of wrist motion was good with dorsiflexion of 59.7°±5.5°, palm flexion of 63.0°±9.1°, pronation of 66.5°±5.5°, supination of 61.2°±5.6°, radial deviation of 22.7°±4.8°, and ulnar deviation of 30.3°±6.1°; DASH score was 13.5±5.5; Bartra radiology score was 88.6±6.5, giving an excellent and good rate of 88.9% (24/27);Gartland-Werley score was 2.7±2.1, giving an excellent and good rate of 92.6% (25/27). Follow-ups observed no poor fracture healing, internal fixation failure, tendon or nerve injury or traumatic arthritis. Conclusion:In the surgical treatment of unstable distal radius fractures with metaphyseal volar comminution, the novel distraction reductor can lead to ideal reduction of displaced fractures and effectively correct the shortening caused by volar cortex comminution to achieve satisfactory functional effects in clinic.

Gastrointestinal motility disorder is an important cause of digestive system diseases. Patients often suffer from nausea, vomiting, gastric retention, gastroparesis, constipation, and many other symptoms, and their quality of life is seriously reduced. Prokinetic agents are routinely used in clinical practice, but their long-term use is prone to problems such as reduced efficacy and increased adverse reactions. Since the incidence of gastrointestinal diseases has continued to rise globally in recent years, there is an urgent need for clinical development of safe and effective treatment strategies. Aurantii Fructus, a traditional Chinese medicine, has the effect of smoothing Qi and eliminating distention, and it has been used to treat gastrointestinal diseases for thousands of years. In modern clinical practice, it is mainly used for the treatment and auxiliary treatment of various gastrointestinal diseases such as functional dyspepsia, functional constipation, and irritable bowel syndrome. The efficacy is remarkable, and no adverse reactions have been reported at conventional doses. Therefore, it can greatly improve the symptoms of patients with gastrointestinal diseases and improve their quality of life. Modern research has revealed that there are many active components in Aurantii Fructus, among which flavonoids have the highest content and the most types. Flavonoids are the main active components in Aurantii Fructus to regulate gastrointestinal motility. Aurantii Fructus and its active components can affect gastrointestinal hormones, neural pathways, Cajal mesenchymal cells, and other multiple mechanisms. They can adjust gastrointestinal motility and correct gastrointestinal motility disorders, showing potential application value in the treatment of gastrointestinal motility disorders. However, a comprehensive analysis of Aurantii Fructus in this aspect is still lacking. This study summarized the pharmacological activities of active components of Aurantii Fructus extract and its flavonoids, volatile oils, alkaloids, and coumarin on the regulation of gastrointestinal motility and explored the latest research progress on its mechanism. Finally, the adverse reactions of Aurantii Fructus were summarized. It aims to provide a scientific basis for the research and clinical application of Aurantii Fructus and its active components in the regulation of gastrointestinal motility.
