3D printing technology is a kind of manufacturing technology for increasing materials. Based on its advantages of rapid prototyping, digitalization and customization, it can effectively meet the needs of personalized and accurate medical treatment, and has been widely studied and applied in the medical field. This paper introduces the principle, technology and materials of 3D printing technology, and describes the research and application status of the technology in medical field. Meanwhile, some problems of 3D printing technology existing in the current development and its future application prospects also will be discussed.

5.Application and development of translational medicine in modern acupuncture and moxibustion.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2014;34(5):503-507
In recent years, translational medicine, which is characterized by advanced concepts and methods, developes rapidly and playes a strategic role in the development of TCM acupuncture and moxibustion. Therefore, it is worth studying by acupuncturists. Through the background, development, features and research model of translational medicine, the present situation and problems of TCM acupuncture research are analyzed. Several cases of translational Chinese medicine and acupuncture are listed with the consideration of the concept of translational medicine. Studies and thoughts on translational acupuncture are expounded as well. Thus, it is suggested that combined with characteristics of acupuncture, the concept of translational medicine should be utilized to instruct the clinical treatment and research of acupuncture, foster researchers of translational medicine as well as establish the related research teams.

Acta Physiologica Sinica 2019;71(4):613-624
Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a class of endogenous, covalently closed, single-stranded RNA without 3'-poly(A) and 5'-cap structures. CircRNAs are characterized by universality, diversity, stability and conservation, and have been found to regulate mammalian transcription and be translated into proteins. In this review, we summarized the biogenesis, classification, expression, distribution, biological functions and regulation of circRNAs. In addition, we discussed the association of circRNAs with diseases and the methods for identification and characterization of circRNAs. Finally, we speculated the application prospect and research direction of circRNAs.

7.Advanced Technologies and the Future of Medicine and Surgery.
Yonsei Medical Journal 2008;49(6):873-878
Technology has become a major driver of the future direction of healthcare and surgery. Likewise, the speed of change has accelerated beyond comprehension, with a number of revolutions occurring during a surgeon's career. Being an agent of change or rapidly adapting to change has become the hallmark of the gifted surgeon. The fundamental challenges to a future surgeon are addressed from a technological viewpoint, with emphasis on the impact upon healthcare.

Yonsei Medical Journal 2015;56(1):132-138
PURPOSE: We designed this study to demonstrate recent trends in the proportion of adult hip research in orthopedics, to identify countries leading the adult hip research, and to evaluate the relationship between the economic power of the countries and their contributions. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Studies published in seven select orthopedic journals were retrieved from PubMed. Among them, we determined the number of adult hip studies. The countries-of-origin of adult hip studies, and the economic power of the countries were investigated. RESULTS: A total of 7218 orthopedic publications and 1993 (27.6%) addressed adult hip research were identified. Adult hip studies increased from 313 (23.7%) in 2000 to 555 (27.9%) in 2011. Twenty-five countries accounted for 97.6% of the total number of adult hip studies, and gross domestic product correlated with publication volume (Spearman's rho, 0.723; p=0.000). CONCLUSION: Researchers from a limited number of developed countries have published their studies in the adult hip discipline.
