Wunderlich Syndrome is a rare potentially life-threatening phenomenon that involves spontaneous non-traumatic retroperitoneal hemorrhage. At present, identifying the course of conservative management in these patients, especially in pregnancy, has not been clinically established. Presented here is a known case of Tuberous Sclerosis Complex with a Bilateral, 10cm Angiomyolipoma in a 31-year-old female, initially managed with active surveillance. At 27 weeks of pregnancy, she presented with a sudden onset of left flank pain with a hematocrit of 22%. Anemia was corrected with blood transfusions. A contrast-enhanced MRI of the abdomen showed a large subcapsular perirenal hematoma of the left kidney. Renal angioembolization of the bleeding segmental renal artery was done. The patient was conservatized until 37 weeks of pregnancy and underwent cesarean section delivery.
Four months after angioembolization, she had a recurrence of the left flank pain associated with gross hematuria and hypovolemic shock. The patient underwent emergency renal exploration of the left kidney via a transabdominal approach. Three liters of hemoperitoneum and a large expanding left retroperitoneal hematoma were noted intraoperatively. Early vascular control before nephrectomy of the left kidney was done. The postoperative course was unremarkable and the patient was discharged with improved condition.
This case displays a unique course in the management of a bleeding angiomyolipoma especially during pregnancy. Renal angioembolization can aid in achieving the age of viability in pregnancy. However, close monitoring for rebleeding should be kept in mind. A lower threshold for conservative management should be utilized when patients have a previous history of bleeding.

4.The current research status and thinking on the history of stomatology in modern China.
Chinese Journal of Stomatology 2022;57(8):861-866
The research on the history of stomatology in modern China began in the middle of 20th century. The history of stomatology is a branch of medical history and stomatology education research. Most of researches on it were general historical researches, but problems on its medical knowledge dissemination and system, development process and social relations, etc. had not been drawn wider attentions at the moment. In order to innovate the research methods of stomatology history, and to promote the study of stomatology history from the perspective of empirical and cultural mutual corroboration, this article classifies and summarizes the research status, characteristics and trends of the stomatology history in modern China.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2016;36(1):71-73
In order to improve the clinical efficacy of the umbilicus fumigation method, the ancient literature with the heat control of umbilicus fumigation method involved is collected extensively and analyzed systematically, and the heat control, precautions and contraindications of this method are discussed. In association with the cases and the present clinical experience, the main factors to the heat control are introduced, such as preparation of doughnuts, filling quantity, size of moxa cone and numbers of moxa cones so that the clinical application of the umbilicus fumigation method can be promoted and enhanced.

Singapore medical journal 2016;57(11):587-590
The Singapore Medical Journal (SMJ) has in the past 55 years reflected the phenomenal socioeconomic progress of Singapore. Publications in the pre-independent years were mainly on diseases like cholera, diphtheria, leprosy, tetanus and worm infestation. In the new millennium, the research papers included molecular genetics, health economics, obesity, Internet medicine, cancer, cosmetic surgery and palliative medicine. The annual SMA Lecture published in the SMJ provides an ethical compass for doctors to remind them of primum non nocere.

To analyze and discuss placebo-related information in clinical research literatures in the past 30 years, including placebo's dosage form, ingredients, preparation process and quality control. Effort were made to research the CNKI. full-text database to preliminary find 700 placebo-related clinical research literature, screen out 301 eligible articles by hand, read the literatures to extract placebo-related information and make statistics and discussions. According to the results, Chinese randomized placebo-controlled clinical studies were characterized by diverse dosage forms of placebo with lack of reports for components, as evidenced by the only 17 literatures describing placebo's preparation or specific composition among the 301 literatures. Placebo-controlled clinical trials covered a wide range of disease spectra, but with a specific tropism of diseases in terms of system classification. Although placebo plays a key role in blinded clinical studies, researchers made less records of placebo, perhaps because they paid less attention to placebo or more attention to the research process or restricted by other objective conditions. Moreover, placebo production, quality control and quality evaluation also need to be further standardized.

10.Women Nurses' Independence Movement during the Japanese Occupation: A Historical Research Study.
Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing Administration 2014;20(4):455-467
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to elucidate the role of Korean women nurses in the independence movement and to examine their activities during the Japanese occupation from 1910 to 1945. METHODS: Nurses studied were women nurses referred to as Ganhowon, Ganhobu, Gyeonseupganhobu, Sanpa, and Josanbu at that time. Five participants such as descendents or relatives of nurses who participated in independence movements, were selected for interview to provide oral historical materials. An historical research approach was used and all of the data were analyzed according to period, region, and pattern of the independence movement. RESULTS: Throughout the historical literature and oral historical materials, it was found that from 1914 to 1945, thirty-eight women nurses actively participated in various types of independence activities such as mass hurrah demonstrations, raise the spirit of war, red cross activities, enlightenment movement and armed struggle to encourage the public to stand up against Japanese imperialism locally and abroad. CONCLUSION: The findings indicate that women nurses, as enlightened women, endeavored to solve social issues with their autonomous volition, and these action can serve as meaningful evidence for enhancing the social status of nurses.
