Objective To study the effects of serum on anticancer activity of DHA and its antitumor mechanism. Method The growth inhibition of DHA on lung cancer A549 cells, and the effect of DHA on serum-induced protein kinase B(Akt)activation were assessed by MTT and Western blot respectively. Results DHA markedly induced growth inhibition of A549 cells in low concentration of serum, but promoted growth of A549 cells in high concentration of serum. DHA significantly blocked serum-induced activation of Akt in serum-free medium. Conclusion Serum is obviously against DHA-mediated growth inhibition of A549 cells, and DHA inhibits activation of Akt by lipid peroxidation and blocks growth of A549 cells.
2.Bidirectional associations between cellular phone use behaviors and depressive symptoms in college students: a follow up study
Chinese Journal of School Health 2023;44(2):251-255
Objective:
The study aimed to describe the prevalence of mobile phone use and depressive symptoms and to examine the bidirectional associations between the two among college students, providinb evidence for mental health promotion among college students.
Methods:
A longitudinal study with follow up at 6 month intervals was conducted in 1 135 students from 2 universities in Hefei, Anhui Province and Shangrao, Jiangxi Province who were selected between April and May 2019. The last follow up was conducted between April and May 2021 based on questionnaire survey, and 999 valid participants were obtained after matching. The self designed questionnaire was used to investigate the duration of cellular phone use and use of cellular phone functions among college students. The Self rating Questionnaire for Adolescent Problematic Mobile Phone Use (SQAPMPU) and the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) were used to assess cellular phone dependence and depressive symptoms among college students. Pearson correlation analysis was used to examine the correlation between cellular phone use behavior and depressive symptoms at baseline and 2 years later; linear regression model was used to analyze the linear association between cellular phone use behavior and depressive symptoms scores; autoregressive cross lagged model was used to analyze the bidirectional associations between cellular phone use behaviors and depressive symptoms among college students over time.
Results:
The prevalence of mobile phone dependence and depressive symptoms among college students at baseline were 24.3% and 42.4%, respectively. The mean duration of mobile phone use among college students at baseline and the 2 year follow up were (2.84±0.90)h/d and (2.02±1.05)h/d, respectively; the mean scores of mobile phone dependence were (23.30±9.00) and (23.29±10.45), respectively; the mean scores of mobile phone function use were (30.12±6.66) and (29.12±7.27), respectively; and the mean scores of depressive symptoms were (4.51±4.76) and (2.61±4.40), respectively. Pearson correlation analysis showed there were significant positive correlations between duration of cellular phone use, cellular phone dependence, use of cellular phone functions at baseline or 2 years later and depressive symptoms 2 years later( r =0.08-0.50, P <0.05). Linear regression models showed a significant positive association between cellular phone dependence at baseline and depressive symptoms ( β=0.26, 95%CI =0.23-0.29) at baseline and 2 years later ( β=0.12, 95%CI =0.09-0.15). Autoregressive cross lagged models showed that cellular phone dependence at baseline positively predicted depressive symptoms 2 years later ( β =0.04) and depressive symptoms at baseline positively predicted cellular phone dependence 2 years later( β =0.23)( P <0.05).
Conclusion
There was a bidirectional association between cellular phone dependence and depressive symptoms among college students. Reducing cellular phone dependence is of positive significance for improving college students mental health.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of tacrolimus extended-release (Tac-ER) in the early stage after kidney transplantation. Methods Clinical data of 68 recipients undergoing kidney transplantation from 34 pairs of renal allografts were retrospectively analyzed. Two recipients who received bilateral kidneys from the same donor were treated with Tac-ER (Tac-ER group) and tacrolimus immediate-release (Tac-IR) (Tac-IR group) as one of the basic immunosuppressant. The changes of tacrolimus dosage and blood concentration, intra-patient variability (IPV), renal function, incidence of acute rejection, recipient and allograft survival rates and adverse events were statistically compared between two groups. Results The average daily dose of tacrolimus in the Tac-ER group was significantly higher than that in the Tac-IR group (

Subgingival microorganisms can orchestrate the microbial community under the influence of environmental factors, thus causing the initiation and progression of periodontitis. Keystone taxa play an important role in the dynamic changes of microbial community. The co-occurrence network analysis may pave the way for screening periodontitis associated candidate keystone taxa in the periodontal microflora. These microorganisms, e.g. Porphyromonas gingivalis, might function via myriad of intermediary taxa or as the chokepoint community-remodeling drivers in response of environmental factors. Herein, we review and discuss the construction of microbial co-occurrence network, the way of screening and identifying keystone taxa using network analysis as well as the characteristic of candidate keystone taxa related to periodontitis for the purpose that keystone taxa and the role they played in dynamic succession of microflora could be well investigated.

OBJECTIVE To optimize the pr eparation technology of the baicalin lipid nano foam aerosol (BC-LN-FA). METHODS Baicalin lipid nanoparticle (BC-LN)and BC-LN-FA were prepared by the thin film dispersion method and homogeneous emulsification method ,respectively, using baicalin (BC) as the model drug. The preparation technology was optimized by Box-Behnken design-response surface methodology using particle size and encapsulation efficiency (EE)as indexes ,with dosage , emulsifier dosage ,co-emulsifier dosage and homogenization time as factors. The morphology ,particle size ,polymerdispersity index(PDI),EE,the viscosity ,the foam dissolution rate and in vitro transdermal release of BC-LN-FA were characterized. RESULTS The optimal technology included 25 mg BC ,40 mg emulsifier (mass ratio of stearic acid-soybean lecithin-glycerol was 1∶1∶1),30 mg co-emulsifier (mass ratio of octadecanol-lactic acid was 1∶1),homogenization time of 20 min. Results of 3 times of validation tests showed that particle size of prepared BC-LN-FA was (151.70±2.40)nm,EE was (68.62±1.16)%;the deviation of them from the predicted value (particle size of 150.80 nm,EE of 67.02%)were 0.60% and 2.39% respectively. The BC-LN-FA prepared by the optimal process was light yellow opalescence ,uniform in particle size and round-like in shape. The viscosity, the foam dissolution rate ,the content of BC and PDI were (122.92±5.09)mPa·s,(65.32±3.22)%,(7.01±0.12)% and(0.199±0.006),respectively. At 48 h,the cumulative release rates of BC-LN-FA in phosphate buffer saline (PBS)at pH 7.4, 6.8,5.0 were(54.12±2.69)%,(57.85±4.25)% and(59.47±1.83)%,respectively;those of free BC in PBS at pH 7.4 was only (15.04±1.43)%. CONCLUSIONS The optimized technology is stable and feasible. Prepared BC-LN-FA has a uniform particle size, high digestion rate and certain viscosity.
