Objective:To investigate the masticatory function and the expression of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) in gingival crevicular fluid.Methods:The clinical data of 98 patients with dentition loss admitted to Tongxiang First People′s Hospital from June 2017 to June 2019 were analyzed, and 49 cases were treated with oral implant repair(observation group) and 49 cases were treated with conventional repair(control group). Both groups were followed up for 6 months. The masticatory function, speech function, retention function, quality of life and the changes of MCP-1 and TNF-α in gingival crevicular fluid were compared before treatment and 6 months after treatment.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group: 95.92%(47/49) vs. 79.59%(39/49), and the difference was statistically significant ( χ2=6.078, P<0.05). At 6 months after treatment, the scores of masticatory function, speech function and retention function in the observation group were higher than those in the control group ( P<0.05). The scores of emotional function, social function and physiological function in the observation group were higher than those in the control group ( P<0.05). The levels of MCP-1 and TNF-α in gingival crevicular fluid of the observation group were lower than those of the control group: (32.09 ± 7.65) μg/L vs. (43.62 ± 9.23) μg/L, (2.19 ± 0.38) μg/L vs. (3.20 ± 0.51) μg/L, and the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05). Conclusions:Dental implant repair is effective for patients with dentition loss, and it can improve masticatory function and quality of life, and reduce the expression of MCP-1 and TNF-α in gingival crevicular fluid.

Objective To discuss the curative effect of different operative methods for the treatment of urethrocutaneous fistula (UCF) after urethroplasty.Methods Clinical data of 54 cases of UCF from January 2003 to July 2011 were collected.Simple suture,advancement skin flap,pedicle penile skin flap urethroplasty,tongue/buccal mucosa urethroplasty were performed according to the size,location,number and whether there was urethral stricture of UCF.The treatment effect was recored and analyzed.Results The success rate of UCF repair was 85％ (46/54).There were 4 patients cured after second surgery.The success rates of repair of UCF with simple suture,advancement skin flap,pedicle penile skin flap urethroplasty,tongue/buccal mucosa urethroplasty were 95％,76％,82％,and 83％,respectively.Postoperative recurrence was observed in 5 patients in 6 months after the surgery and 4 of them received the re-operation.Conclusion According to the principle and the individual circumstance,taking personalized operative methods may improve the success rate of the repair of all kinds of UCF.

Objective To evaluate the outcome of the surgical-treated ankle fractures. Methods We reviewed the outcomes of 92 cases of ankle fracture which had complete follow-up data from January 2000 to April 2008. The outcomes were assessed by AOFAS (American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society) scoring scale, VAS scale, satisfaction degree of patients and range of ankle motion. The differences in AOFAS scoring and ankle motive range between involved and contralateral extremity, AO fracture types, involved positions (solemaleolar, bimaleolar, trimaleolar), follow-up timing were statistically analyzed. Results Follow-ups averaged 55 months. All cases had fracture healed. The average AOFAS score was 93.6 points. The excellent to good rate was 100%. VAS score was 0.17 points on average. Satisfaction score was 9.62 points on average. Statistical analysis showed that the motive range of ankle joint between involved and con-tralateral extremity had a significant difference, but there were no significant differences in AOFAS scores and range of ankle dorsiflexion-plantarflexion between AO fracture types, involved positions and different follow-up durations, Conclusion Surgical treatment for ankle fractures can have a good clinical result.

Objective To investigate the risk of atopic disease in infants with a atopic mothers. Methods The level of CCL22 and total IgE in the cord blood were measured using ELISA for 33 newborns with atopic mothers and for 44 newborns with non-atopic mothers. Correlation between the two factors was examined. Periodic follow-ups were conducted on the newborns to observe the risk of atopic diseases. Results The atopic group showed a higher level of CCL22 than that in non-atopic group, and the difference was statistically significant (Z=5.20, P=0.000). When 0.9 kU/L was taken as the threshold of an elevated IgE level in cord blood, the positive rates of the atopic group (11/33) was much higher than that of the non-atopic group (4/44) (χ2=7.07, P=0.008). Furthermore, the level of CCL22 and the level of IgE were significantly positively correlated (r=0.808, P=0.000; r=0.348, P=0.021) in the atopic group and the non-atopic group, respectively. During the 12 months of follow-up, the number of atopic diseases occurred in the infants in the atopic group (24/33) was much higher than that in the non-atopic group (10/44) (χ2=19.12, P<0.001).Significant correlation exists between levels CCL22 and total IgE in cord blood and infant atopic diseases (Z=5.36, P=0.000; Z=4.44, P=0.000). Conclusions At birth, the infants with an atopic mother are already in a sensitization state and have a tendency to develop potential atopic diseases. There is a correlation between the history of atopic diseases in the mothers and the elevated level of CCL22 in the cord blood of the newborns, and the probability of developing atopic diseases for the newborns is significantly higher when the level of CCL22 is elevated. The combined detection of CCL22 and IgE levels impact significantly on the prediction of the risk of atopic diseases clinically.

Objective:To analyze the brain function of patients with delirium in intensive care unit (ICU) using resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), further analyze the structural changes in the brain using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), and explore the correlations of brain function with structural changes in patients with delirium in ICU from a new perspective of functional imaging, provide visual evidence for the diagnosis of delirium.Methods:Patients with delirium admitted to ICU of the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University from January 1st to December 31st in 2017 were enrolled as subjects. During the same period, the healthy volunteers who matched the gender, age and education level of the patients with delirium were enrolled as control group. The intensive care delirium screening checklist (ICDSC) scores within 24 hours after ICU admission were recorded. All the subjects were scanned by fMRI and DTI. The abnormal changes in resting-state brain function of the patients with delirium were evaluated by cerebral regional homogeneity (ReHo) data analysis. The DTI data were processed by the FSL software, and the fractional anisotropy (FA) and mean diffusivity (MD) of the brain were extracted, respectively, to evaluate the damage to brain structure. The values of ReHo, FA and MD were compared between the two groups. The ReHo value of brain region with reduced ReHo value of patients with delirium as compared with the healthy volunteers was extracted for Pearson correlation analysis with ICDSC scores.Results:A total of 22 patients with delirium were included. Seven patients who did not cooperate in the examination, used sedatives or had false images in scanning, were excluded. Finally, 15 patients were enrolled in the delirium group, and 15 healthy volunteers in the healthy control group. ① No statistically significant difference was found in gender, age or education time between the two groups. ICDSC score of the delirium group was significantly higher than that of the healthy control group (6.07±1.28 vs. 1.07±0.88, P < 0.01). ② fMRI scanning and analysis results: compared with the healthy control group, the ReHo values of the cerebellum, right hippocampus, striatum, midbrain and pons in the delirium group were significantly increased (all P < 0.05, AlphaSim correction), while the ReHo values of bilateral superior frontal gyrus, bilateral median frontal gyrus, left inferior frontal gyrus, temporal lobe and parietal lobe were significantly lowered (all P < 0.05, AlphaSim correction). Correlation analysis showed that the ReHo value of the left superior frontal gyrus was negatively correlated with ICDSC score in the patients with delirium ( r = -0.794, P < 0.05), indicating that the changes in the functional area of the medial frontal gyrus was most closely related to delirium. ③ DTI scanning and analysis results: compared with the healthy control group, the FA values of the left cerebellum, bilateral frontal lobes, left temporal lobe, corpus callosum and left hippocampus in the delirium group were decreased significantly (all P < 0.05, AlphaSim correction), while the MD values of the medial frontal gyrus, right superior temporal gyrus, anterior cingulate gyrus, bilateral insular lobes and left caudate nucleus were enhanced significantly (all P < 0.05, AlphaSim correction), suggesting that the structural and functional damage was found in multiple brain regions in patients with delirium. Conclusions:Multiple brain regions of patients with delirium present abnormal resting-state brain function. The abnormal resting-state brain function of the left superior frontal gyrus is closely related to the occurrence of delirium. Structural damage is found in multiple brain regions of patients with delirium. The structural changes in the frontal lobe, temporal lobe, corpus callosum, hippocampus and cerebellum and their abnormal functions can be used as preliminary imaging indexes for the diagnosis of delirium.

Progressive functional deterioration in the cochlea is associated with age-related hearing loss (ARHL). However, the cellular and molecular basis underlying cochlear aging remains largely unknown. Here, we established a dynamic single-cell transcriptomic landscape of mouse cochlear aging, in which we characterized aging-associated transcriptomic changes in 27 different cochlear cell types across five different time points. Overall, our analysis pinpoints loss of proteostasis and elevated apoptosis as the hallmark features of cochlear aging, highlights unexpected age-related transcriptional fluctuations in intermediate cells localized in the stria vascularis (SV) and demonstrates that upregulation of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) chaperon protein HSP90AA1 mitigates ER stress-induced damages associated with aging. Our work suggests that targeting unfolded protein response pathways may help alleviate aging-related SV atrophy and hence delay the progression of ARHL.
