Background The visual system of animal have to optimally adjust in various environmental conditions in order to obtain stable and effective visual funetion.However,the color vision system of animals which encounter uncertainty of spectral signals should be plastic.Whether the densities of various cones and expression of opsins change with long-time spectral deprivation is unclear.Objective This study was to investigate the changes of cone density as well as the expression of corresponding opsin and mRNA following the long-term illumination of monochromatic light.Methods Thirty 3-day-old guinea pigs were randomized into 3 groups and exposed tO the 530 nm green light,400 nm purple light and white light for consecutive 8 weeks respectively.The flat-mounted retinal sample was prepared and divided into dorsal zone,ventral zone and mixed zone anatomically according to the distribution of difierent light-sensitive cone.The changes in density of cone cells sensitivited to different colored light were detected by single-1abel or double-label immunocytochemistry.The levels of opsin and its mRNA were determined using Western-blot and real-time PCR respectively.Results The density of green-sensitivity cones was significantly different in the dorsal zone of retina among green light group,purple light group and white light group (F=234.28,P<0.01).Compared with white light group,the density of green-sensitive cones in dorsal retina of green light group was obviously higher but that of purple light group wag evidently lower(q=389.68,P<0.01；q=67.11,P<0.01).No significant difference was found in the density of purple-sensitive cones in the ventral zone of retina among green light group,purple light group and white light group(F=3.14,P>0.05).The density of coexpression of the mixed cone cells was increased in green light group(q=157.55,P<0.01)but decreased in purple light roup (q=254.85,P<0.01)in comparison with white light group.The expression levels of green-opsin and green-opsin mRNA in green light group was significantly elevated(q=184.45,P<0.01；q=4.71,P<0.05),but those of purple light group were evidently declined(q=5.87,P<0.05；q=346.66,P<0.01)in comparison with white light group.There was no statistically significant differences were found in the expression of purple-opsin and its mRNA among all the groups(F=1.24,P>0.05；F=3.27,P>0.05).Conclusion After the exposure of long-time monochromatic light illumination,monochromatic cones density and its opsin in guinea pig occur the corresponding alteration to gain good spatial vision as a compensatory reaction.These outcomes imply that there is some plasticity during the development of color vision.The increase of green-sensitive cones might be from the differentiation of coexpression cones in transition region.

Objective To explore the methods of therapy in lung cancer patients with bone metastases, and evaluate the effects and side effects of Strontium-89 palliative therapy in lung cancer patients with bone metastases. Methods About 56 cases of bronchiogenic cancer patients with bone metastases who did not receive any radiotherapy, according to 1.48×10~7 Bq/person/time, using standard intravenous injection ~(89)Sr as treatment. Follow-up 6 months, assess according to the following parameters: pain and frequency of pain were given quantized value and got pain score, using T test for comparing the pain score. According to before and after treatment bone imaging showed the size of focus and change of the number, upgrade focus therapy effect. Examine (CEA) and (NSE), using T test for changes before and after treatment. Using T test for changes of LEU and platelet after treatment. Results After treatment for 6 months, for 77 % patients are alleviating pain (43/56), the pain went off of 13 patents, account for 23 percent of the total. The pain score from 7.3±3.6 before treatment decrease to 5.3±3.4 after treatment, dropping obviously. After treatment, the focus regressed in 14 cases, decreased in 5 cases, total efficiency is 34 %. Before and after treatment, CEA from (33.64±18.15)μg/L obviously decreased to (t=4.26, P<0.01) to (21.36±11.65) μg/L, NSE from (27.16±10.12) μg/L obviously decreased to (t=4.26, P<0.05) to (12.56±4.23) μg/L. After treatment, LEU and platelet decreased to the lowest, LEU decreased about 27.9 %, platelet decreased about 19.7 %, after 3 months,normal rate of blood picture is 75 %(42/56). Conclusion The method of strontium-89 palliative therapy in lung cancer patients with bone metastases is good, safe and has little side effects, it can improve the quality of patients life.

Objective To evaluate the changes of thyroid function during pregnancy in the second and third trimester in the regions with or without iodine deficiency. Methods The serum TSH, FT 3, FT 4 and TT 4 levels of 90 pregnant women (30 from iodine deficient area as study group, 60 from iodine sufficient area as control group) and 30 non pregnant women were assayed by high sensitive immunoradiometric assay (IRMA) or radioimmunoassay (RIA), and urine iodine level of pregnant women before delivery was also examined. Results (1) The serum TSH level in pregnant women in the second and third trimester was significantly higher than that of non pregnant women. The serum free thyroid hormone levels of pregnant women were significantly lower than that of non pregnant women, especially in the third trimester. Objective To investigate the effects of genistein(GEN) on the expression of collagen I and transforming growth factor-?1(TGF-?1 ) of osteoblast.Method The secondary generation of skull osteoblast of newborn SD rat was incubated with GEN.The cells were divided into six groups:control group,different dose of GEN(10-8,10-7,10-6,10-5mol/L,respectively) groups and E2 group( 10-10mol/L).MTT(OD),the contents of cell protein,the activity of alkaline phosphatase(ALP),the expression of collagen I and the content of TGF-?1 were detected.Results After 48h and 72h,the MTT(OD) of all GEN group and E2 group were significantly higher than those in control group.The MTT(OD) of control group and 10-8,10-7,10-6mol/L GEN groups in 72h were significantly higher than those in 48 h.The protein of 10-5,10-6 mol/L GEN group and E2 group were significantly higher than those in control group.The ALP activity of all GEN groups and E2 group were significantly higher than those in control group.The level of above indices were correlated with the dose of GEN.The expression of collagen I and the content of TGF-?1 in 10-7,10-6,10-5mol/L GEN group and E2 groups were higher than those in control group.They werecorrelated with the dose of GEN and TGF-?1.Conclusion GEN could stimulate proliferation and differentiation of osteoblast,and enhance the expression of collagen I and content of TGF?-1.Compared with E2,,there were similar effects with the higher dosage of GEN.

Objective To investigate the effect of salmeterol/fluticasone (SM/FP) on serum inflammatory factors in the treatment of bronchial asthma in children.Methods 80 children with bronchial asthma from January 2015 to October 2015 in department of pediatrics of first affiliated hospital of Zhejiang Chinese medicine university were selected and randomly divided into two groups.The control group were given routine clinical treatment, the experimental group were treated on the basis of the control group with salmeterol/fluticasone (SM/FP), for 4 weeks.The serum IL-2, IL-4, IFN-α, T-lymphocyte subsets and clinical efficacy between the two groups were compared.Results Compared with control group, the serum levels of IL-2 and IFN-γin experimental group were higher, IL-4 in experimental group was lower ( P <0.05 ); the serum CD3 +T, CD4 +T and CD4 +T /CD8 +T levels in experimental group were higher, the serum CD8 +T was lower than those in control group (P<0.05); the total efficiency of the experimental group (92.5%) was significantly higher than that of control group (75.0%) (P<0.05).Conclusion The salmeterol/fluticasone (SM/FP) has the good efficacy in the treatment of bronchial asthma in children, which could effectively regulate T lymphocyte subsets proportion and the level of cytokines.

Objective The aim of this study was to establish a rat model of irritable bowel syndrome.Methods Thirty healthy adult SD rats ( mele:female=1:1 ) were divided into normal control group, model group, and positive control group ( pinaverium bromide tablets 15.0 mg/kg) for 31 days.Body weight, appetite, defecation, voluntary move-ment of all the rats were determined.The rates of gastric emptying and small intestinal propulsion rate were measured.The serum 5-HT and plasma SP and VIP or 5-HT, SP, VIP in colon homogenates were assessed by radioimmunoassay.Blood biochemical parameters were measured with an automatic biochemical analyzer.The gastric and intestinal morphology was evaluated by histological examination.Results After modeling, the rat weight and food intake were decreased, ad stool quantity was increased.The voluntary movement and gastric emptying rates were decreased, intestinal propulsion rates were increased, and the contents of SP and VIP in blood were decreased, but increased in the colonic homogenate (P＜0.05, P＜0.01).After treatment, the food intake was increased and stool quantity was decreased, the rat body weight was signifi-cantly increased, the amount of voluntary movement and stool returned near to normal, the 5-HT levels in serum or in co-lonic homogenate were significantly decreased, but plasma VIP levels were markedly increased, and the SP and VIP con-tents were significantly decreased in colonic homogenate in the positive control group (P＜0.05, P＜0.01).Hematology indexes had no obvious changes.The gastric and colonic tissue morphology showed no distinct damages caused by the di-verse stimulating factors.Conclusions The stimulation of composite factors can be used to successfully generate the rat model of irritable bowel syndrome, showing similar clinical manifestation of this disease in humans.

BACKGROUND: Upper eyelid flap grafting-related vessels such as superficial temporal artery, supratrochlear artery, supraorbital artery trunk are reported. Upper eyelid artery dissection is becoming more and more important for the surgery on the eyelid, but there is a lack of anatomical analysis of upper eyelid artery. OBJECTIVE: To measure the anatomical position of the upper eyelid artery in the eyelid region, and to provide anatomical basis for adjacent flap grafting. METHODS: Twenty adult skull specimens were dissected, and a reference coordinate system was made based on the inner canthus connection for the X axis, and the center line for the Y axis. The red lactoprene was injected into the skull model via common carotid artery.The locations A-E of the upper eyelid artery in the eyelid area were measured. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The upper eyelid artery in the eyelid area was mainly from the supratrochlear artery and the supraorbital artery, generally paralleling to the X axis. The upper eyelid branch originated from the supratrochlear artery was located at the projection of the inner canthus, with a total length of 24.50 mm, and a diameter of 0.51 mm, extended to the outer canthus and the diameter of the vessel gradually reduced. The upper eyelid branch originated from the supraorbital artery was located at pupil and inner canthus junction 1/2 projection. The total length of the blood vessels was about 23-24.6 mm, and the diameter of the blood vessels was (0.55±0.05) mm. In the current study, we obtained the surface projecting of upper eyelid artery in the eyelid area by establishing the skull model of blood perfusion, which provides an anatomic basis for upper eyelid flap grafting.

To select the most effective parameters of electroacupuncture (EA) at Hegu (LI4) and Sanyinjiao (SP6), a traditional acupuncture formula that induces labor, by comparing its effects on uterine contraction in late-stage pregnant rats, so as to improve the effects of acupuncture on induction of labor and its clinical maneuverability and provide the basis for further mechanism research.

Objective To investigate the clinical significance.of thrombocytopenia in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).Methods One hundred and two SLE patients with thrombocytopenia who were admitted to Peking University People's Hospital were involved in the study.SLE patients without thrombocytopenia were controls.Clinical and laboratory characteristics were analyzed.T-test and Chi-square test were used for inter-group comparison.Results Patients with thrombocytopenia had more organ damage than those without,although the disease activities (SLEDAI) were not different between these two groups.Bone marrow characteristics were analyzed and 16 patients were amegakaryocytic.However,there were no differences observed between patients with amegakaryocytosis and normal megakaryocytes in organ damage,disease activity and response to therapy.Conclusion Lupus patients with thrombocytopenia usually have more organ damage.About 32％ of those patients are amegakaryocytosis.
