The famous senior Chinese medical doctor Li Wei-xian is one of the national third and fourth acadomic advisor groups for propagating and inheriting of TCM experiences and theories. He is good at treating gynecology and pediatrics particularly, who believes that reasonable and eriective clinical health keeping guidance should be given sufficient attention. He noted that"if you want to keep healthful, the staple food is necessary,"for fomale patients with qi and blood deficiency, and that"if you want your children be better,a little hunger and cold is required."

Objective To research Dengue virus type 2 (DENV-2) to human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) permeability. Methods The titration of DENV-2 was detected and HUVEC infection DENV-2 layer of cells. At different time points after infection (30 min, 1 h, 3 h, 6 h, 12 h, 30 h,36 h, 24 h, 42 h, 48 h,72 h), the permeability in HUVEC were detected after Dengue virus infection. The virus load in HUVEC was detected by quantitative real-time PCR. And ultrastructure in HUVEC was observed by electron microscope. Results The permeability in HUVEC was changed after Dengue virus infection by time lasting. The most permeability in HUVEC was changed after Dengue virus infection at 30 min and 42 h. And at the same time the virus load were most value in all of time. The results of the cell membrane were changed by electron microscope. The deciduous cell microvillus and dissd endochylema were founded. And some of nuclear membrane blank was wided by Dengue virus. Even the leakage was founded in cell nucleus. The other change included that disappearance mitochondrial and vacuolization crista, elder pith change mitochondria. In addition, the complete of cell membrane were dissolved. Conclusion The permeability of HUVEC was changed by DENV-2. To explore the pathogenesis of Dengue virus provide certain theoretical basis.

Introduction: Open disclosure is poorly understood in
Malaysia but is an ethical and professional responsibility.
The objectives of this study were to determine: (1) the
perception of parents regarding the severity of medical error
in relation to medication use or diagnosis; (2) the preference
of parents for information following the medical error and its
relation to severity; and (3) the preference of parents with
regards to disciplinary action, reporting, and legal action.
Methods: We translated and contextualised a questionnaire
developed from a previous study. The questionnaire
consisted of four case vignettes that described the
following: medication error with a lifelong complication;
diagnostic error with a lifelong complication; diagnostic
error without lifelong effect; and medication error without
lifelong effect. Each case vignette was followed by a series
of questions examining the subject’s perception on the
above areas. We also determined the content validity of the
questionnaire. We invited parents of Malaysian children
admitted to the paediatric wards of Tuanku Jaafar Hospital to
participate in the study.
Results: One hundred and twenty-three parents participated
in the study. The majority of parents wanted to be told
regarding the event. As the severity of the case vignettes
increased, the desire for information, remedial action,
acknowledgement of responsibility, compensation,
punishment, legal action, and reporting to a higher agency
also increased. The findings did not have strong evidence of
a relationship with subject’s demographics.
Conclusion: This study gives insights into previously
unexplored perspectives and preferences of parents in
Malaysia regarding open disclosure. It also highlights the
opportunity for more research in this area with potentially
broad applications.

OBJECTIVE:
To evaluate the clinical effect and prognostic factors of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in 44 children and adolescents.
METHODS:
From June 1987 to December 2003,44 children and adolescents with nasopharyngeal carcinoma were treated by radiotherapy, and some patients also received chemotherapy. Kaplan-Meier method was used for the survival rate and univariate analysis, and Cox proportional hazard model was used in multivariate analysis.
RESULTS:
The 3.5 year survival rate was 84.2% and 62.3%.In the univariate analysis, clinical stage, lymph node (N) stage, radiotherapy dose and chemotherapy were significant prognostic factors of survival. In the multivariate analysis, N stage and chemotherapy were the prognostic factors in the survival rate.
CONCLUSION
Most nasopharyngeal carcinomas belong to the advanced degree. These patients are sensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Combined modality therapy can improve the clinical effect of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in children and adolescents.
