2.A Case of Fibrous Pseudotumor of Testicular Tunic.

A relatively rare and puzzling tumor of the testicular tunic is reported. The tumor, so called a fibrous pseudotumor of testicular tunics, in presented because of the clinical dilemma this rare entity causes urologists and pathologists. This report demonstrates the necessity for familiarity with testicular pseudotumors in order to avoid an unnecessary orchiectomy.

3.Measurement of Acceptable Noise Level with Background Music.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Acceptable noise level (ANL) is a measure of the maximum background noise level (BNL) that a person is willing to tolerate while following a target story. Although researchers have used various sources of target sound in ANL measures, a limited type of background noise has been used. Extending the previous study of Gordon-Hickey & Moore (2007), the current study determined the effect of music genre and tempo on ANLs as possible factors affecting ANLs. We also investigated the relationships between individual ANLs and the familiarity of music samples and between music ANLs and subjective preference. SUBJECTS AND METHODS: Forty-one participants were seperated into two groups according to their ANLs, 29 low-ANL listeners and 12 high-ANL listeners. Using Korean ANL material, the individual ANLs were measured based on the listeners' most comfortable listening level and BNL. The ANLs were measured in six conditions, with different music tempo (fast, slow) and genre (K-pop, pop, classical) in a counterbalanced order. RESULTS: Overall, ANLs did not differ by the tempo of background music, but music genre significantly affected individual ANLs. We observed relatively higher ANLs with K-pop music and relatively lower ANLs with classical music. This tendency was similar in both low-ANL and high-ANL groups. However, the subjective ratings of music familiarity and preference affected ANLs differently for low-ANL and high-ANL groups. In contrast to the low-ANL listeners, the ANLs of the high-ANL listeners were significantly affected by music familiarity and preference. CONCLUSIONS: The genre of background music affected ANLs obtained using background music. The degree of music familiarity and preference appears to be associated with individual susceptibility to background music only for listeners who are greatly annoyed by background noise (high-ANL listeners).

The characteristic radiographic and CT findings of Iobar atelectasis are well known. However, Iobar atelectasis is a dynamic process, and atypical presentations may occur due to a number of different causes. Familiarity with the various typical and atypical radiographic findings of Iobar atelectasis is important for correct diagnosis. The aim of this manuscript is to illustrate the spectrum of radiographic findings of Iobar atelectasis and to correlate the radiographic findings with the CT findings. The review will illustrate examples of typical and atypical Iobar atelectasis, including combined Iobar atelectasis, peripheral Iobar atelectasis, migrating Iobar atelectasis, rounded atelectasis involving the entire lobe and Iobar atelectasis mimicking paravertebral and mediastinal masses.

6.Audio-visual Emotion Regulation System Based on TGAM Module.

OBJECTIVE:
Based on the TGAM PCB module, a system of emotion control using audio-visual feedback is designed.
METHODS:
TGAM collects EEG information through the electrode in contact with the forehead skin. The system analyzes the user's emotion through the STM32F103ZET6 of the main control chip, and finally controls the control end of the system to regulate the user's emotion.
RESULTS:
It can be seen from the test results that the system can precisely recognize the user's emotions, and at the same time effectively adjust the user's emotions from both audio-visual aspects.
CONCLUSIONS
The system has high recognition accuracy and good adjustment effect.

7.Artifacts in MR imaging caused by air and fat: an experimental study.

To investigate the nature of artifacts caused by air and chemical shift by fat, a test tube phantom study was performed in 2.0T and 0.5T superconducting magnetic resonance imaging systems in various imaging sequences. Spatial mismapping and signal change made image distortion in spin echo images of the air-column and severe signal voids in gradient echo images. Chemical shift artifacts appeared in the planes of frequency-encoding axis as crescent-shaped signal voids and summated bright signals, Both artifacts were more prominent in high field strength, Images at 0.5T showed more severe artifacts in the T2-weighted images than those in the other sequences. As the acquisition matrix increased, truncation artifacts decreased and susceptibility artifacts in gradient echo images diminished. Familiarity with causes, appearances and mechanisms of various artifacts will help radiologists for interpretation of MRI.

Calcific tendinitis of hand and foot is rare and frequently misdiagnosed because of its rare incidence and its similar clinical presentation to other conditions such as infection. Awareness of the typical location as well as familiarity with the imaging findings is essential for making a correct diagnosis of this rare condition. We report four cases of calcific tendinitis of hand and foot, occurring in the flexor hallucis brevis, abductor digiti minimi, and abductor pollicis brevis.

9.Level and Correlation Factors of Uncertainty in Members of Families of a Patient with Mental Illness.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to measure the level of uncertainty, credible authority, severity of illness and event familiarity in members of families where there is a patient with a mental illness and to examine the relationships among these variables. METHODS: Research data were collected from November 23 to December 7, 2010. Participants in the study were 96 family members who visited patients in a closed ward or out-patient department of one hospital in Goyang City. Self-report questionnaires were analyzed using the SPSS 18.0 Program. RESULTS: Mean scores were 79.8+/-11.23 for level of uncertainty in family members, 15.5+/-2.17 for credible authority, 13.3+/-2.02 for severity of illness, and 14.5+/-2.43 for event familiarity. Uncertainty in family members was significantly related to credible authority (r=-.52, p<.001), event familiarity (r=-.41, p<.001) and severity of illness (r=.22, p<.031). CONCLUSION: The results of the study indicate that credible authority, severity of the illness and event familiarity are major factors perceived uncertainty in members of families of these patients. This outcome suggests the need for a new trials in nursing interventions considering the effects of these variables.

10.Pterional, Trans-Sylvian Approach for Aneurysm Surgery.

Pterional, trans-sylvian approach is a basic and most popular neurosurgical procedure used in surgical treatment of various vascular, tumor and other lesions located in and around the sellar and parasellar region. It has several benefits such as a shorter working distance, anatomical familiarity, lesser need for brain retraction with wide sylvian dissection, ability of extension with some modification. All anterior circulation aneurysm except pericallosal origin aneurysm and some aneurysm of posterior circulation can be approached with pterional, trans-sylvian method. The authors discribe the procedure of pterional trans-sylvian approach.
