Objective To set up the reference value of serum glyeated albumin (CA) in Chinese for using in clinical practice through a multi-center clinical trial. Methods Three hundred and eighty individuals with normal weight and normal glucose regulation, including 183 males and 197 females ranging from 20 to 69 years, were recruited from 10 hospitals in China. Serum GA levels were measured with liquid enzymatic method. Results (1) The GA level of the 380 subjects was (14. 5±1.9)%. When dividing these subjects by age into 3 subgroups, there was no difference in the GA levels among the 3 subgroups (P>0.05). Compared with the women, the men had higher GA level in the first subgroup aging from 20 to 39 (P =0.028). However, no significant difference was detected after adjusting with BMI as confounder.(2) When dividing those subjects by BMI into 3 subgroups, with BMI ranging from 18. 5-20. 9 kg/m2,21.0-22. 9 kg/m<'2>and 23.0-24. 9 kg/m<'2>respectively, we came to the following results: for men, there was no difference in the GA levels among the 3 subgroups (P>0.05), but for women, the GA level of the first subgroup was higher than that of the second subgroup (P =0.024). (3) The level of GA in the 2. 5th to 97.5th percentile was 10. 8%-17. 1%. (4) Sixty normal subjects were chosen to repeat evaluation of GA levels after 2-3 weeks and the GA levels were of no difference (P>0.05).Conclusion The normal range of serum GA for the Chinese population could be suggested at 11%-17%.

Objective:To investigate changes in the self-management ability of chronic diseases in elderly diabetic patients during the novel coronavirus pneumonia pandemic. Methods:A multi-stage cluster sampling method was used to retrospectively collect diabetes management information from elderly diabetic patients treated in five community health service centers in Beijing in June 2022, including 295 elderly diabetic patients, and changes in management of their self-care practices such as diet, exercise, medical treatment and medication, blood glucose monitoring, complication management, and psychological states before and after the outbreak(2019-2022)were analyzed. Results:In 295 elderly diabetic patients, increased glycated hemoglobin( P<0.05)and body mass index(BMI)( P<0.05)were observed during the pandemic.Among 115 patients with underlying diabetic complications, 75.7%(87)of patients had worsening symptoms of chronic complications of diabetes and a shortened weekly exercise time[124(60, 300)min vs.140(60, 300)min, Z=6.00, P<0.05].The number of weekly blood glucose tests was reduced(5.6±4.2 vs.5.8±4.3, t=3.17, P<0.05).The weekly time spent interacting with family members increased( P<0.05).There were no significant differences in body weight, sleep time, and number of times of forgetting to take medication per week before and after the outbreak( P>0.05).21.0% of patients had a decrease in the number of hospital visits, and 72.2% of patients experienced low mood and increased adverse psychological emotions during the pandemic. Conclusions:The pandemic has had a negative impact on the management of chronic diseases in elderly diabetic patients, mainly reflected in the reduction of exercise time and blood glucose monitoring. It also affected regular hospital visits of patients, resulting in negative psychological emotions, poor blood glucose control, increased BMI, and aggravated symptoms of chronic complications, compared with their pre-pandemic conditions.

ObjectiveCongenital heart disease (CHD) is a common birth defect in children, with its incidence increasing annually. Because of their special health status, the vaccination situation for children with CHD has become a focal point of attention. This paper systematically reviews the current status of vaccination among children with CHD in China to identify existing issues in vaccination efforts for children with CHD, provide guidance for increasing vaccination rates among children with CHD, reduce the incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases, and provide ideas for subsequent research. MethodsLiterature on the vaccination of children with CHD in China was searched in both Chinese and English databases, including CNKI, Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, VIP, Chinese Biomedical and Web of Science, PubMed, EmBase, and the Cochrane Library. Relevant literature was identified based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and data extraction was carried out to summarize the research results. ResultsA total of 15 studies were included. Three articles focusing on expert consensus (guideline recommendations) for vaccination of children with CHD in China all agreed that vaccination is both feasible and necessary for children with CHD. Systematic analysis found that the overall timely vaccination rate for children with CHD was between 34% and 50%, with a notable delay in vaccination. However, after professional outpatient assessment, the vast majority of children with CHD were advised to be vaccinated according to the national recommended schedule, with only about 2% of them being advised to delay vaccination. The proportion of children with CHD who reported suspected adverse events following immunization (AEFI) was low and not significantly different from that of healthy/control children. ConclusionThe safety of vaccinations for children with CHD in China is relatively high, but the total timely vaccination rate is currently low. In order to improve the coverage and timeliness of vaccination in children with CHD, it is recommended that relevant departments provide vaccination policy support. There is a lack of research on the effectiveness of vaccination in children with CHD, so further studies are urgently needed to further improve the vaccination strategy for children with CHD in China.

Shuyu Yiban decoction(SYYB) has significant effect in treating the patients with coronary heart disease combined with chronic psychological stress. In this study, in order to observe the effects of SYYB on early formation of atherosclerosis(As) and inflammation response induced by chronic psychological stress, high-fat diet+intraperitoneal injections of Vitamin D3 were given to establish As early lesion models, and based on these models, chronic unpredictable mild stress(CUMS) was used to observe whether the chronic psychological stress could increase coronary atherosclerotic lesions investigate the intervention effect of SYYB(6.6, 13.2, 26.4 mg•kg⁻¹). The tail suspension test and novelty-feeding test were adopted to detectadrenocortico-tropic hormone(ACTH), cortisol(Cor) andnoradrenaline(NE) in serum and weigh thymus and adrenal gland, in order to assess the effects of SYYB on CUMS model rats. The pathological changes of vascular tissues in aortic arch were observed by using hematoxylin and eosin(HE) staining, and then the levels of triglycerides(TG), total cholesterol(TC) and high density lipoprotein(HDL-C) in serum were determined to assess effects of SYYB on As lesions. The effects of SYYB on the inflammatory response in As rats were assessed by detecting high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hsCRP), interleukin-1β(IL-1β) and interleukin-6(IL-6) in serum. The results showed that as compared with the blank control group, TC and TG levels in As group were increased while HDL-C was markedly decreased; furthermore, the aortic wall was thickened in HE staining. Meanwhile, foam cells were formed, and the behavioral assessment and serum stress hormone test showed that there was a chronic stress response, indicating successful establishment of As+CUMS models in this study. The experiment demonstrated that SYYB could lower the levels of serum TC and TG, reduce foam cells, calcification and inflammatory cells infiltration. Moreover, SYYB could obviously lower levels of ACTH, Cor and NE and the As related inflammatory indicatorhs-CRP, IL-1β and IL-6 in serum. These results indicated that SYYB had protective effect on chronic psychological stress induced in As rats, and the mechanism was associated with balancing the neuroendocrine-immune network system and regulating inflammation response.
