Criminal activities involving human life always puts lives at stake. Newer advances in other fields especially medicine and dentistry is essential in solving the mysteries of death. Different disciplines insert a part of the puzzle until it is complete. Fingerprints, DNA profiling, Forensic anthropology are commonly employed in personnel identification, mass disasters and others. Investigators may also rely on lip prints to identify possible suspects or to support evidence gained in specific investigations. A lip print at scene of crime can be the basis for inference as to the number of people involved, gender, habits, occupational traits, and others, based on the pathological changes present. This review deals with lip prints and their possible acquisition and usage.
2.A rare case of Nonsyndromic Oligodontia with Ankyloglossia

Agenesis of teeth and ankyloglossia are common human developmental anomalies. Terms like Oligodontia, Anodontia and Hypodontia are used to describe agenesis of teeth. Oligodontia is a rare condition generally defined as agenesis of six or more teeth excluding the third molars. The condition is not frequently documented in Indian children. There is no much documentation on oligodontia with ankylogossia. Ankyloglossia can adversely affect the development of the surrounding structures including the alveolar process, teeth and can impair functions such as mastication, speech, and swallowing. The present article reports a rare case of non-syndromic oligodontia associated with ankyloglossia in an 8-year old male patient. Oligodontia is a relatively rare condition affecting 0.1-0.2% of the population. Our present case is even rare because of its association with ankyloglossia
3. Medley of infections-a diagnostic challenge

We present a rare case of multiple infections coexisting together. This is one of the rarest cases of four infections which coexisted together in our patient. It is an alarming for the physicians to be aware of such infections as early prompt diagnosis can be lifesaving.
4.Cone-beam computed tomography characterization of the intraosseous vascular canal in the lateral wall of the maxillary antrum

Objectives:
The purpose of the study was to assess the occurrence, location, and dimensions of the intraosseous vascular canal in the lateral wall of the maxillary antrum using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT).
Materials and Methods:
In this retrospective study, we examined 400 CBCT scans from our archive of patients who had earlier reported to a dental teaching hospital in the United Arab Emirates. The prevalence, location, and dimensions of the lateral antral intraosseous canal (LAIC) in the maxillary antrum were evaluated by 2 examiners using standardised methods. A third examiner was consulted in cases of disagreement.
Results:
The prevalence of LAIC was 62.3% (249 maxillary antra) among the study population. The mean distance between the most inferior point of the alveolar bone and the inferior border of the LAIC in the posterior maxillary region was 19.83±3.12 mm. There was a significant difference (P=0.05) between the maxillary molar and premolar regions in mean distance from the most inferior point of the alveolar bone and the inferior border of the LAIC. There was no statistically significant difference in mean distance between the most inferior point of the alveolar bone and the inferior border of the LAIC between dentulous and edentulous areas (P=0.1). The G3-intrasinusal type canal less than 1mm in diameter was the most common type of LAIC.
Conclusion
This study established the approximate location of the LAIC in a United Arab Emirates cohort, which will assist the oral surgeon in selecting the appropriate site for sinus lift procedures with reduced risk of surgical hemorrhage.
5.Finite Element Analysis Comparing the Biomechanical Parameters in Multilevel Posterior Cervical Instrumentation Model Involving Lateral Mass Screw versus Transpedicular Screw Fixation at the C7 Vertebra

Methods:
Four FE models of multilevel posterior cervical fixation were created and tested by FEA in various permutations and combinations. Generic differences in fixation were determined, and the following parameters were assessed: (1) maximum moment at failure, (2) maximum angulation at failure, (3) maximum stress at failure, (4) point of failure, (5) intervertebral disc stress, and (6) influence of adding a C2 pars screw to the multilevel construct.
Results:
The maximum moment at failure was higher in the LMS fixation group than in the TPS group. The maximum angulation in flexion allowed by LMS was higher than that by TPS. The maximum strain at failure was higher in the LMS group than in the TPS group. The maximum stress endured before failure was higher in the TPS group than in the LMS group. Intervertebral stress levels at C6–C7 and C7–T1 intervertebral discs were higher in the LMS group than in the TPS group. For both models where C2 fixation was performed, lower von Mises stress was recorded at the C2–C3 intervertebral disc level.
Conclusions
Ending a multilevel posterior cervical fixation construct with TPS fixation rather than LMS fixation at the C7 vertebra provides a stiff and more constrained construct system, with higher stress endurance to compressive force. The constraint and durability of the construct can be further enhanced by adding a C2 pars screw in the fixation system.
