The cochlea of children with congenital sensorineural hearing loss with normal inner ear structure was measured and analyzed by high-resolution temporal bone CT(HRCT) imaging technique, its application value before cochlear implantation was evaluated and the appropriate electrode was selected. We collected temporal bone HRCT images of 120 patients with congenital sensorineural hearing loss, according to gender divided into two groups, including 60 males and 60 females. We used the PACS software to measure the distance A(the largest distance from the round window to the lateral wall) and the distance H(height of the cochlea) and calculate the cochlear duct length. Reproducibility of these data were evaluated and the results between the different groups were compared.Measurement of parameter values between the intraobserver and interobserver showed great reproducibility. In the male children group, the measured values are shown as distance A[(8.55±0.31)mm],distance H[(4.57±0.28)mm]and the cochlear duct length(CDL)[(27.59±1.23)mm]; and in the female children group, the measured values are shown as distance A[(8.45±0.32)mm],distance H[(4.42±0.34)mm]and the cochlear duct length(CDL)[(27.20±1.17)mm.The A,H,and CDL of the male cochlea were greater than those of the female, the difference was statistically significant(<0.05).Measuring the distance A and distance H of the cochlea and calculating the cochlear duct length CDL can be used to select a suitable length of electrode or to customize a personalized electrode. This is a simple and effective assessment method before cochlear implantation..

Objective: To quantify the burden of cardiovascular disease (CVD) deaths that attributed to metabolic disorders in population aged ≥25 years in Jiangsu province. Methods: The data we used were from the following three sources: 1) 2015 Jiangsu Chronic Disease Risk Factor and Nutrition Survey, 2) death surveillance, 3) results of the 2016 Global Burden of Disease Study, based on population attributable fractions (PAF), to analyze related parameters as mortality, years of life lost (YLL), life expectancy (LE) and premature mortality. Results: Most people died from ischemic stroke (IS) showed the standard mortality as 87.48/100 000. High SBP appeared as the major cause on CVD deaths. PAF with high cholesterol and high BMI decreased along with the increase of age while high fasting plasma glucose increased. Deaths due to ischemic heart diseases, IS or hemorrhagic stroke that attributed to metabolism disorders would reduce the LE by 1.08, 1.07 or 0.55 years, respectively. Males appeared to have higher YLL than females and were more likely to die from premature CVD, as the consequence of having metabolism disorders. Conclusions: Blood pressure control should be considered an important approach to reduce the burden of CVD. According to the characteristics of gender-related risks and the distinct impact of age-related metabolism disorders on different CVD diseases, stratified strategies should be strengthened for comprehensive prevention and control of CVD, in Jiangsu province.

Objective: To understand the dairy product intake in residents of Shanghai, its seasonal changes and the influencing factors. Methods: A group of representative residents was surveyed and followed up in four seasons in Shanghai during 2012-2014. Information of the dairy product intake was collected by food frequency questionnaire. Results: Liquid milk and yogurt were the main dairy products consumed by the residents of Shanghai. The annual dairy product intake rate was 41.8%, and the median of dairy intake of milk was 145.3 g/d, accounting for 48.4% of reference dietary intake value, and only 4.5% of people's diary product intake reached intake reference value. The area specific differences in intake rate of liquid milk, yogurt and total dairy product intake were significant in four seasons and in whole year (P<0.05). The area specific differences in total dairy product intake were significant (P<0.05) in spring, summer and winter. In general, it was shown that dairy product intake in urban area was higher than that in suburban area and in rural area. The data of Shanghai and urban area showed that the total dairy product intake was significant different among four seasons (P<0.05), but no significant difference was observed among four seasons in suburban and rural areas. The logistic regression analysis results showed that people with average household income higher than local average level or higher education levels were more likely to consume dairy products daily. People who reported to have good health status or sleep quality were more likely to drink milk compared to those who have worse health status or sleep quality (P<0.05). Conclusions: Even though dairy product intake rate and volume have been improved in residents in Shanghai, it is still stay at lower level, especially in rural area. To promote consumption of dairy products, it is necessary to control diary product price from macro perspective, and strengthen healthy education about the importance of dairy product intake and guide residents to select suitable dairy products.

Objective: To understand the related risk behaviors, knowledge and status of HIV/AIDS infection among rural adults of Derung minority, to provide relevant messages for the development of HIV/AIDS intervention strategy in this minority group. Methods: We used system sampling method to conduct a cross-sectional survey in 6 administration villages of Derung Township, Gongshan Derung and Nu Autonomous County in Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province, with a sample size estimated as 383. Adult residents with Derung minority in six villages of Gongshan County were involved, with relevant information collected through door-to-door visit. HIV antibody was tested and SPSS 17.0 was used for statistical analysis. Results: Information on 394 valid respondents was collected, with age as between 18 and 65 (34.39±9.74), 80.7% (318/394) as married, 54.0% (213/394) having had primary school education, 13.2% (52/394) as migrant workers. In this population, the overall HIV infection rate appeared as 0.5% (2/400), mainly through sexually transmission. The rate of awareness on HIV/AIDS was 69.8% (275/394), mainly through free publicized materials 50.0% (197/394). Rates on premarital sexual behavior on multiple sexual partners in the past year, on temporary sexual partners in the past year, having commercial sexual experiences in the past year and ever used condoms when engaging in casual sex, were 6.4% (60/366), 18.0%(66/366), 5.7%(21/366), 1.9%(7/366) and 8.0%(25/311), respectively. Conclusions: Few numbers of HIV infections were identified among the migrating workers with Derung minority, with sexual transmission as the major route, along with the increased number of rural migrant workers and the low rates both on AIDS knowledge and condom use, accompanied by the high risk sexual behavior appeared in this rural adult residents of Derung minority. Relative strategies on HIV/AIDS intervention and control should be developed.

Shanghai Diet and Health Survey (SDHS) was designed to prospectively access local residents' food consumption, energy and nutrient intake, related chemical contaminant exposure, and the seasonal change trend to explore the relationship of diet with health. Data from SDHS can be used as fundamental information and scientific evidences for the development of local nutrition and food safety policies.
