China Pharmacist 2014;(4):670-672
Objective:Infantile hemangiomas is the most common tumor in infants with congenital benign endothelial cell prolifera-tion. Propranolol is a non-selectiveβ-blocker commonly used in the treatment of arrhythmia, angina and hypertension, etc. Propranolol used in the treatment of hemangiomas was an accidental discovery, which creates a trend of research on the classic old drug at home and abroad. The efficacy of propranolol in the treatment of infantile hemangiomas has been affirmed in the clinical observation;howev-er, the safety and safe dosage need to be further evaluated by large sample control studies.
2.Correlation of STAT3 expression with clinicopathological parameters in colorectal carcinomas
Clinical Medicine of China 2009;25(10):1100-1102
Objective To investigate the expression of STAT3 and its clinicopathological characteristics in colorectal carcinomas. Methods The expression and location of STAT3 and VEGF protein were deterimined using MaxVisionTM immunohistochemistry and immunohistochemiscal S-P method in 50 colorectal carcinomas and 30 nor-real colorectal tissues. Results Positive expression rates of STAT3 protein in colorectal cancer tissues and normal colorectal mucosa tissues were 82.0% and 33.3%. The expression of STAT3 protein was related to differentiation, TNM stage and lymph node metastasis in colorectal carcinomas (P<0.05 ). VEGF in the expression of lower tumor differentiation and highter TNM stage was significantly higher than that in higher turner differentitation and lower TNM stage (P < 0.01 ). VEGF in the groups of serosa invasion and lymph node metastasis was higher than that in no serosa invasion and lymph node metastasis ( P < 0.05 ). Conclusions STAT3 protein expression is associated with the development of colorectal carcinoma, and its overexpression is an independent adverse prognosticator in colorectal cancer. STAT3 and VEGF protein may play an important role in colorectal tumorigenesis and disease progression.

BACKGROUND:Studies on the proteomics contribute not only to exploring the laws governing life activities, but also to elucidating the pathogenesis of a variety of diseases to find the treatment strategies. OBJECTIVE:To summarize the application of proteomics in the plateau medical research. METHODS:A computer-based online search was conducted in PubMed and Wanfang databases from 1995 to 2015 to screen the relevant literatures using the key words“proteomics, medical research, plateau medicine”in English and Chinese, respectively. A total of approximately 200 English and 60 Chinese relevant literatures were selected and the 59 eligible literatures were included after screening final y. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Currently, the human genome has been decoded through the studies on exploring the proteomics changes under the pathological conditions and the underlying mechanisms. Construction of physiological and pathological mapping based on the human proteome contributes to revealing the novel treatment targets, diagnostic markers, and drugs for the prevention and treatment of diseases. Proteomics has become the frontier and hot research field both at home and abroad, including al the proteins expressed in the tissue, cel or organism, and becomes a bridge between the genome and clinical application.

Objective To explore the effect of family visit and nursing intervention in promoting the re-habilitation of thoracolumbar fracture patients. Methods 115 patients with thoracohmbar fracture were divid-ed into the study greup(60 cases) and the control group(55 cases) by random hospitalization number. Patients in the study group were given regularly rehabilitation guidance initiatively at home by doctors and nurses for 6 months since discharge, the control group received conventional discharge guidance. Results After the inter-vention, the two groups showed significant difference in the functional rehabilitation, awareness rate of disease-related knowledge, mastering rate of relevant skills, incidence rate of complication, satisfaction degree with nursing. Conclusions Regular family visit and nursing intervention by the doctors and nurses can not only teach patients relative functional exercise methods, promote the physical rehabilitation of limbs, reduce inci-dence of complications and solve the problem of lack of care support after discharge from hospital effectively.
