International Eye Science 2016;16(10):1902-1904
AIM: To investigate the clinical effect of compound anisodine on patients with paralytic strabismus and the influence on malondialdehyde ( MDA ) and superoxide dismutase ( SOD) .
●METHODS: Seventy cases diagnosed with paralytic strabismus from Jun. 2008 to Dec. 2014 were selected as treatment group; another 70 cases with paralytic strabismus from Oct. 2000 to Jan. 2008 were chosen as control group. The control group was given with conventional therapy, and treatment group was additionally injected with compound anisodine subcutaneously on the basis of the control group. Treatment lasted for two courses about 28days. The effect of compound anisodine on patients with paralytic strabismus was evaluated and the serum level of MDA and SOD was also measured before and after treatment.
●RESULTS: ln treatment group, 54 cases were cured (77%), 14 cases improved (20%) and 2 cases had no response ( 3%) and total efficiency reached to 97%. ln control group, 32 cases were cured ( 46%) , 21 cases improved ( 30%) and 17 cases had no response ( 24%) and total efficiency was 76%. The cure rate and total efficiency of treatment group were significantly higher than that of control group (P<0. 05). Before treatment, the level of SOD and MDA was equal in two groups. After treatment, increased SOD level and decreased MDA level was observed in both groups. However, compound anisodine were significantly increased SOD level and reduced MDA level when compared with conventional therapy (P<0. 05).
●CONCLUSION: The compound anisodine shows the beneficial effect on patients with paralytic strabismus. Compound anisodine may exert the effect via increasing SOD and reducing MDA.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of intravenous cefmetazole in the treatment of patients with aspiratory pneumonia. Methods A multicenter, prospective and open-labeled trial was conducted. A total of 1522 patients were enrolled at the beginning, and only 1324 were evaluabled at the endpoint. The duration of treatment was 7-14 days. During the treatment and follow-up periods, we recorded any unexpected symptoms and abnormal laboratory tests. At last,we evaluated its efficacy and safety. Results The total effective rate of cefmetazole was 79. 8% (1056/1324). The total bacterial eradication rate was 75.0% ( 342/456 ) . The bacterial eradication rates of klebsiellar pneumonia, escherichia, staphyloccocus aureus and anaerobic bacteria were 78.2% (97/124), 80.8% (80/99), 89.0% (81/91), 9/11,respectively. Conclusions Cefmetazole is effective and safe in the treatment of aspiratory pneumonia.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a frequent syndrome in hospitalized patients .Recently, a number of studies have been reported that the close relationship exists between genetic polymorphism and AKI .The current research on genetic polymorphism related with AKI is reviewed in this article .

Objective To develop a fast shimming method for permanent magnet MRI system. Methods Peak location method (PLM) was improved by calculating the eddy current effect, and the time deviation was replaced by their phase to increase the precision. Results Experiment showed that the new method took less than 45 s, which was 3 times faster than conventional method while providing the same homogeneity. The result of PLM satisfied the requirement of homogeneity. Conclusion This new method can significantly improve the homogeneity in a short time and satisfy further fast pulse sequence development on 0.5T permanent magnet MRI system, which can be generalized for any permanent magnet first order shimming.

Objective:To study the effect of endogenous IL-1? on the expression of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and COX2 in dental pulp cells. Methods:Human dental pulp cells were treated with human recombinant IL-1? at 1 nmol/L in serum-free medium for 18 h. Then the cells were collected and total RNA was isolated, MMPs and COX2 mRNA expression was assessed by semiquantitative RT-PCR. Results:IL-1? at 1 nmol/L induced the expression of COX2 and MMP-1 mRNA in human dental pulp cells. Conclusion:IL-1? may contribute to stimulating expression of MMPs and COX2 in the dental pulp during pulpitis.

A 35-year-old woman patient, complained of intermittent pain in the left flank for a week.Abdominal ultrasound and computed tomography scan revealed a left renal mass.Nephrectomy was performed, and a final diagnosis of adult Wilms' tumor was made based on histopathology and immunohistology.Chemotherapy was conducted for 4 times with dactinomycin D,vincristine and doxorubicin after surgery. At the time of the last recheck, the patient was alive with no evidence of disease.Adult Wilms' tumor is the exceptional malignant renal tumor.Only 1%-2% of Wilms' tumor is diagnosed in adult patients.Because of unspecific tumor symptoms in adults, the diagnosis is frequently made by histology. The diagnosis of adult Wilms' tumor is difficult to make preoperatively because diagnostic imaging only confirms the presence of a renal mass.Stage and histology are the clinical factors guiding the selection of postsurgical treatment and prognosis.Having retrospected 6 cases of adult Wilms' tumor between 1950 and 2007 and reviewed related reports,we conclude that the proper strategies of adjuvant treatment as applied to childhood Wilms' tumor patients after surgery can conspicuously improve the outcome in adult patients.

Objective To investigate the methods and effects of applying choledochoscope in drainage of retroperitoneal abscess. Methods Eighteen cases of retroperitoneal abscess, who underwent open surgical debridement and drainage or PCD but the drainage was ineffective, were selected for use of choledochoscope to irrigate and debride the abscess repeatedly. Results All of the 18 patients had effective choledoscopic treatment;in 17 patients the abscess healed and drainage catheter was successfully removed;but in one patient, who developed pancreatic fistula, was cured by internal drainage operation performed 6 months later. Conclusions Use of choledochoscope as an adjunctive treatment after drainage operation of retroperitoneal abscess is simple, safe, and effective.
