Objective:To investigate the satisfaction of the elderly who lived in medical-nursing combined in-stitutions in Weifang and to provide advice to the relevant department for optimizing the medical-nursing combined care mode. Methods:Using the convenience sampling method, 157 subjects from 2 medical-nursing combined institutions in Weifang were selected for the questionnaire survey. Results:The satisfaction score of the elderly was (4. 14 ± 0. 33), which was in the medium to high level. The satisfaction score of each dimension from high to low was listed as the daily life demands, the medical care needs, the recreational demands and psychological demands. Conclusions:The medical-nursing combined pension mode can mostly meet the basic needs of the elderly, but the service content needs to be expanded. It is needed for pension institutions to fully mobilize social resources to a-chieve the sustainable development of medical-nursing combined care mode.

Based on the strain breeding theory and metabolic engineering theory, A high-yield mutant of Lactobacillus Thermophilus ATCC8317 was obtained through the compound inducements by the original Acetic acid-Sodium acetate plate and the productivity increased 210%.The best media components included saccharifying corn, malt powder 30g/L,peptone 5g/L.Based on the variety of specific cell growth rate and specific L-lactic acid production rate at different temperatures, the strategy of temperature control was obtained. The total product of L-lactic acid reached 135g/L besides the rate of glucose consumed and the average L-lactic acid productivity were up to 95% and 2.25g/(L?h) respectively.

Objective To investigate the relationship between polymorphisms within the CETP gene, D442G,and natural longevity in the Uygur population. Methods 191 healthy individuals over 90 years old and 53 control individuals who died before their 75 years were recruited. The D442G polymorphism within CETP gene was genotyped by PCR-RFLP and PCR-Sequencing. Results There were no difference in the genotypes and alleles distribution of D442G polymorphisms within the CETP gene between longevity group and control group. Conclusions There were no the correlation between the D442G polymorphisms within CETP gene and natural longevity of Uygur population in Hetian. The difference of D442G polymorphism existed in not only races, but also regions where the same race dwelled.

OBJECTIVETo compare the difference in the clinical efficacy on premature ovarian failure (POF) between the acupoint catgut implantation combined with artifical periodic therapy and the simple artificial periodic therapy and explore its effect mechanism.
METHODSSixty-five patients of POF were randomized into the two groups. In a western medication group, 32 cases were treated with the artificial periodic therapy with the oral administration of medroxyprogesterone acetate tablets. In a catgut implantation + western medication group, 33 cases were treated with the acupoint catgut implantation combined with artificial periodic therapy. The acupoints of Neiguan (PC 6), Zusanli (ST 36), Guanyuan (CV 4) and Sanyinjiao (SP 6) were selected. The treatment was lasted for half a year and the follow-up visit was for another half a year in the two groups. Kupperman index was used to assess the improvements in the clinical symptoms. The levels of serum sexual hormones such as follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and estradiol (E2) were evaluated of the patients in the two groups before and after treatment. The efficacy was compared between the two groups.
RESULTSThe scores of the clinical symptoms were all significantly improved after treatment and in the follow-up in the two groups (P < 0.01, P < 0.05). In the 6-month follow-up visit after treatment, the result in the catgut implantation + western medication group was better than that in the western medication group (8.17 +/- 1.19 vs 13.68 +/- 1.08, P < 0.01). FSH was reduced after treatment in the two groups (all P < 0.01) and E2 was increased (all P < 0.05). The curative and remarkably effective rates were 75.8% (25/33) and 81.8% (27/22) after treatment and in the follow-up visit in the catgut implantation + western medication group, which were better than 67.9% (19/28) and 53.6% (15/28) in the western medication group separately (P < 0.05, P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONThe acupoint catgut implantation combined with artificial periodic therapy achieve the remarkable improvements in the clinical symptoms of POF in the patients and the better results as compared with the simple western medication therapy. The combined therapys efficacy is stable and the long-term efficacy is apparently superior. The effect mechanism is related to the improvements in the serum sexual hormone levels.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2005;9(6):198-199
BACKGROUND: The permeability of blood-retinal barrier in rats can be increased due to the exposure under infrasound. There is rare research on ionic mechanism of such damage to barrier because of lacking the sources of retinal microvascular endothelial cells.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the impact of infrasound on calcium-activated potassium channel(BKca) of bovine retinal microvascular endothelial cells (BRECs).DESIGN: A completely randomized controlled opening study.SETTING and MATERIALS: The research was conducted in the Laboratory for patch-clamp, Department of Clinical Aerospace Medicine, Fourth Military Medical University of Chinese PLA. Experimental subjects were BRECs cultured.INTERVENTIONS: The cultured BRECs were exposed to the infrasound of 8 Hz, 130 dB for 30 minutes.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The activity of BKCa in BRECs was observed.RESULTS: The activity of BKCa channel in BRECs increased after the exposure of infrasound of 8 Hz, 130 dB for 30 minutes. BRECs were cultured in an incubation cabin for 30 minutes after exposure for another detection by patch-clamp ionic current, and the increased BKCa channel activity slightly decresed.CONCLUSION: The breakdown of blood-retinal barrier under infrasound is partly due to the stimulatory effect of infrasound on Ca2 +-activated-K +channel, which will cause membranous depolarization providing the driving force of Ca2+ influx on BRECs.
