1.Study on Equilibrium Solubility of Aesculin and Its Apparent Oil/Water Partition Coefficient
China Pharmacy 2007;0(29):-
OBJECTIVE: To study the equilibrium solubility of aesculin and its apparent oil/water partition coefficient, and to provide basis for absorption mechanism study.METHODS: Equilibrium solubility of aesculin at the pH of 1.2~8.0 was determined by saturation method. The apparent oil/water partition coefficients of aesculin were determined by shaking flask method.RESULTS: The equilibrium solubility of aesculin at the pH of 1.2~6.8 was fluctuated slightly;it increased rapidly at the pH of 7.4;the maximum equilibrium solubility of aesculin was obtained at the pH of 8.0(10.58 g?L-1).The oil/water partition coefficient of aesculin changed slowly at the pH of 1.2~6.0;it decreased significantly at the pH of 6.0;the minimum oil/water partition coefficient was obtained at the pH of 8.0(0.03).CONCLUSIONS: The equilibrium solubility of aesculin and its apparent oil/water partition coefficient are associated with the pH of medium. The reason that aesculin has no effect on uric acid after oral administration is relevant to poor gastrointestinal tract absorption ability.
2.Azathioprine Treatment in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: A Double Edged Sword
The International Medical Journal Malaysia 2015;14(2):61-62
Extremely severe pancytopenia induced by low dosage of azathioprine in systemic lupus erythematosus patients
is rare. A 40-year-old Chinese female was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus. She suffered worse
erythema, oral ulceration, raised erythrocyte sedimentation rate and high anti-dsDNA in August 2013. Then she
was initiated on oral azathioprine 50mg/d and extremely severe pancytopenia was seen in September 2013. She
was recovered by a series of treatments. Regular monitoring of blood counts is highly recommended to reduce
the possible serious myelosuppression induced by azathioprine.
3.Effect and mechanism of jianpi qinghua recipe on renal functions of adriamycin-induced nephropathic rats from the angle of inhibiting renal fibrosis.
Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2014;34(6):733-738
OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of Jianpi Qinghua Recipe (JQR) on renal functions of adriamycin-induced focal segmental glomerular sclerosis (FSGS) rats from the angle of activating fibroblasts to myofibroblast (MyoF).
METHODSTotally 56 rats were randomly divided into the normal control group (n=8), the sham-operation group (n =8), and the model group (n=40). The FSGS rat model was induced by nephrectomy of left kidney plus intravenous injection of adriamycin. Successfully modeled rats were further divided into 5 groups, i.e., the model group, the JQR group, the JPR (Jianpi Recipe) group, the QHR (Qinghua Recipe) group, and the NDQ (Niaoduqing) group, 8 in each group. Corresponding drugs were administered to rats in all groups, 2 mL each time, for 56 days. The effect of JQR on serum creatinine (SCr), urea nitrogen, 24-h urinary protein excretion, a-smooth muscle actin (alpha-SMA) mRNA, collagen type III (Col III) mRNA, fibronectin (FN) mRNA, and collagen type IV (Col IV) mRNA were observed.
RESULTSJQR could significantly lower SCr, urea nitrogen, and 24-h urinary protein excretion levels (P < 0.01), and significantly decrease mRNA levels of alpha-SMA, Col III, FN, and Col IV (P < 0.01). It was advantageous over the NDQ group. Compared with JPR, the relative expression levels of Col III mRNA and FN mRNA of JQR and QHR were significantly lower (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONSJQR could improve the renal function and renal fibrosis in the adriamycin-induced nephropathic model rats. Its efficacy was superior to that of NDQ. Its mechanisms might be linked with inhibiting activation of fibroblasts.

Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(09):-
Influence of extraction process on the quality of Maxingshigan pills was studied. Guided by the amount of ephedrine in the extraction as determined by dual wavelength TL- C-scanning. Four different processes were compared. Result showed that Process C was the best among all.

Chinese Journal of Digestion 1996;0(S1):-
Mutation and overexpression of the tumor suppressor gene product, p53, is believed to play an important role in the development of human malignant tumors. Many studies shows that overxpression of the mutant p53 gene product is common in human malignant tumours including esophageal cancer. However, the prognostic significance of overexpression of p53 gene is not well defined. In this study, we have investigated the overexpression of p53 gene product in 174 esophageal squamous cell carcinoma collected from Sichuan Cancer Hospital, Chengdu, China. 48.9% of these esophageal squamous cell carcinomas were positive for p53 staining. Correlations of overexpression of p53 with clinicopathological features including histological type and grade, clinical staging, age and sex was analyzed in all specimens. The prognostic significance of p53 stained esophageal squamous cell carcinoma was analyzed in 111 of these patients follow-up for five-year. Significant statistical correlations were observed between p53 positive and poor prognosis analyzed by Cox proportional hazard regression analysis, (F=0.04). No statistically significant differences were observed between p53 overexpression and the clinicopathological factors including age, sex, differentiation and clinical staging of the cancer, but patients with Vositioly expressed p53 has a poorer prognosis than those with negative expression. The present study indicate that overexpression of p53 may be a useful independent prognostic factor in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma at its early stage.

Chinese Journal of Medical Imaging Technology 2009;25(12):2290-2293
Objective To develop a fast shimming method for permanent magnet MRI system. Methods Peak location method (PLM) was improved by calculating the eddy current effect, and the time deviation was replaced by their phase to increase the precision. Results Experiment showed that the new method took less than 45 s, which was 3 times faster than conventional method while providing the same homogeneity. The result of PLM satisfied the requirement of homogeneity. Conclusion This new method can significantly improve the homogeneity in a short time and satisfy further fast pulse sequence development on 0.5T permanent magnet MRI system, which can be generalized for any permanent magnet first order shimming.

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2006;0(02):-
Objective To establish the determination method for osthol in Compound Shechuang Tincture. Methods Hypersil ODS column was used and methanol-water (70∶30) was used as a mobile phase. The flow rate was at 1.0 mL/min and the detection wave-length was at 322 nm. Results Osthol had a good linear relationship between 0.018~0.126 ?g (r =0.999 9). The average recovery was 98.55% and RSD was 1.45%. Conclusion This method is simple, rapid and accurate. It can be applied to determining osthol in Compound Shechuang Tincture.
