1.Design and development of a new thoracolumbar distraction reduction devicein vitro

BACKGROUND:For the elderly osteoporotic thoracolumbar burst fractures without nerve root symptoms,it is difficult to choose between traditional surgical and conservative treatment,because they have their advantages and disadvantages.How to select their advantages and to discard their disadvantages? Concept of minimal invasion builds a new platform and provides a new way of thinking and therapeutic tool.OBJECTIVE:To design and develop a new thoracolumbar distraction reduction devicein vitro in the repair of elderly osteoporotic burst fractures.METHODS:We designed and developed a new type of thoracic and lumbar spinein vitrodistraction reduction device,including bracket,guide pin and two holow screws.Its characteristic is that it also contained distractor,pressurizer and wrench.In accordance with the theory of muscles as important as bones and actual anatomical condition,bone fragment in the spine canal was restored using percutaneous ligament reconstructive technique.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:This thoracic and lumbar spinein vitro distraction reduction device combined with ligament reconstructive technique can be used in elderly osteoporotic burst fractures and elderly osteoporotic compression fractures.It is percutaneous minimaly invasive operation,can restore the height of anterior and central cylinders and correct Cobb's angle through multi angle distraction.Simultaneously,percutaneousvertebroplasty can be utilized.Bone cement was infused in the injured vertebra.According to patients' economic situation,percutaneous baloon kyphoplasty can be employed.These can provide an inexpensive,less-pain,less-invasive way to repair.
2.Antibiotic Drug Use in Inpatients:Survey and Analysis

OBJECTIVE To survey and assess the use of antibiotic drugs in our hospital before and after the enactment of The Antibiotics Use Guideline by the Ministry of Health.METHODS To determine antibiotic drugs usage rate,combined use conditions as well as other factors in inpatients before and after the enactment of the guideline.RESULTS After the enactment of the guideline,the usage rate of antibiotic drugs was much lower than before,whereas there were still some shortcomings in the combined drug use conditions in our hospital.CONCLUSIONS The medical workers should administer antibiotic drugs in a more reasonable way in order to guarantee the safety,long term health right and living quality.

5.Comparative performance of the equations for estimating GFR in type 2 diabetic patients

Serum creatinine was determined by enzymatic method.99mTc-GFR was measured by 99mTc-DTPA dynamic renal imaging and considered as GFR marker in 210 males and 180 females with type 2 diabetes,eGFR was calculated by Cockcroft-Gault formula,MDRD equation7,abbreviated MDRD equation,modified MDRD equation for Chinese (c-7GFR4 and c-aGFR4),and CKD-EPI equation.They were analyzed by correlation,regression,Bland-Altman analysis and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis.The correlation coefficients for Cockcroft-Gault formula,MDRD equation7,abbreviated MDRD equation,c-7GFR4,c-aGFR4,and CKD-EPI equation were 0.79,0.76,0.77,0.76,0.76,0.81 respectively.And the differences were-14.99,-18.85,-23.79,-25.85,-32.07,and-7.16,respectively.The area under ROC curves were 0.91,0.88,0.89,0.88,0.90,and 0.92,respeetively.Kappa values were 0.67、0.52、0.39、0.49、0.46、0.54respectively.The CKD-EPI equation seams to be the most accurate measurement among the six methods when the serum creatinine was determined by enzymatic method in Chinese type 2 diabetic patients.
6.Comparison of effects of XIAOYU TABLETS and its constituents on endothelin-1 and nitric oxide in atherosclerotic rabbits

Object To determine the rationality of prescription of XIAOYU TABLETS. (Tablet for the elimination of blood stasis). Methods The effects of XIAOYU TABLETS and its individual constituents on endothelin 1 and nitric oxide in atherosclerotic rabbits were observed and compared. Results XIAOYU TABLETS showed stronger actions than its individual constituents (extract of Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae or Fructus Crataegi) in decreasing the contents of endothelin 1 in plasma and atherosclerotic vessel wall and increasing the contents of nitric oxide in serum and atherosclerotic vessel wall. Conclusion The combine use of Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae and Fructus Crataegi extracts showed an obvious synergistic effect on reduction of endothelin 1 and elevation of nitric oxide in atherosclerotic rabbits.
7.Inhibition Effect of Xinnaotong on Endothelial Cells and Platelets Expression Adhesion Molecule in Vitro

Objective:To study the action of Xinnaotong on adhesion molecule expression by cultured endothelial cells and platelets. Methods: Tumor necrosis factor ?(TNF ?) stimulated ICAM I expression on the cell surface was studied with human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVEC).Thrombin stimulated expression of platelet P selectin was studied with human blood platelets. Adhesion molecule expression was measured by flow cytometry. Results: ICAM I molecule expression on HUVEC was significantly stimulated by TNF ?. The stimulatory effect of TNF ? on HUVEC was inhibited by Xinnaotong(0.25~2g/L) in a concentration dependent manner. The same dose of Xinnaotong can inhibit the p selectin expression on human blood platelets stimulated by thrombin. Conclusion: Xinnaotong inhibites expression of adhesion molecues(ICAM I, p selectin) in HUVEC and in human blood platelets.
8.Effect of thyroid morphologic change and initiating treatment time on mental development in children with congenital hypothyroidism

Objective To explore the effect of the thyroid morphologic change,the initiating treatment time and the thyroid function(serum FT_4,TSH)on mental development in children with congenital hypothyroidism (CH).Methods After diagnosed,52 cases of CH were orally administrated with L-T_4,then their mental and physical development were monitored and thyroid morphologic changes were observed by thyroid imaging(~(99m)TcO_4) and type B ultrasonography.The Bayley test was performed at the age of 10 to 30 months and expressed as mental developmental index(MDI)and psychomotor developmental index(PDI).Analysis was conducted upon treatment timing and thyroid morphologic changes.Results The MDI in those cases with morphologic abnormalities treated within 90 days was significantly lower than that with normal morphology(91?20 vs 105?15,P

Berberine is the main active ingredients in Coptis.The content determination of berberine can provide the basis for its quality evaluation.Relevant provessinal literatures about determination methods of berberine were summarized,and the main methods included TLC,UV, HPLC,HPEC,fluorescence,and so on.HPLC was the most widely used method because of its high separation efficiency,specificity and sensitivity.
10.Determination of Arsenic and Copper in Chinese Patent Medicines by Microwave-digestion Atomic Absorption Spectrometry

Objective To establish a method for the determination of arsenic and copper in Chinese patent medicines.Methods Digested by microwave,the content of arsenic in Liuwei Dihuang Pill (prepared with water and honey) was measured by sequence flowing injection-hydride generation-atomic absorption spectrometry and content of copper by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Effects of factors,including digestion temperature,smashing granularity of samples,proportion of digestive ingredients,volume of digestive agents,digestion procedure and digestion time,on the content determination were studied.Results Recoveries of arsenic and copper were 100.8%~114.3%and 94.4%~110.2%respectively under optimum conditions.Conclusion This method is simple and effective for the content determination of heavy mental in Chinese patent medicines.
