Objective To investigate the expression of nerve tissue protein S-100(S-100)and gap junctional protein connexin 43(Cx43) in rat adenohypophyseal folliculo stellate cells(FSCs) under the influence of ovariectomized osteoporosis(OVX-OP) and estrogen replacement therapy(ERT). Methods Sixty 10 month old female rats were randomly divided into sham operation control group(Sham), ovariectomy group (OVX) and ovariectomy+ERT group (OVX+ERT). L4-6 bone mineral density(BMD) of the animals in Sham group and OVX group were measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry(DEXA) at the end of 6 weeks after operation. From 7th week, rats in OVX+ERT group were treated with nilestriol(1 mg?kg -1?week-1) for 6 weeks. Rat L4-6 BMD in OVX+ERT group were measured at the end of 12 weeks after operation. Expression of S-100 and Cx43 in FSCs was detected using immunofluorescent histochemistry and laser scanning confocal microscopy(LSCM). Results L4-6 BMD was significantly lower in OVX group (0.193?0.006) g/cm2 than in Sham group(0.211?0.013) g/cm2 and in OVX+ERT group (0.204?0.010) g/cm2 (P

Aim To investigate the possible roles of age, bodyheight, mass and body mass index(BMI) in Lumbar1-4 bone mineralcontent (L1-4BMC), L1-4 areal bone mineral density(L1-44BMD) and L1-4volumetric bone mineral apparent density(L1-4BMAD) of Chinese adoles-cents with early ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Methods Thirty-one maleChinese adolescent outpatients with early AS were included. Age (y),total body mass (kg), height(cn) and body mass index (BMI, kg/m2)of subjects were obtained. L1-44BMC(g) and L1-4 BMD(g/cm2) were e-valuated by using DEXA, and L1-4 BMAD(L1-44BMC/Area3/2, g/cm3)was subsequently calculated. Correlation and multiple regression analyseswere performed. Results Multiple regression revealed that height ( P =0.000) and BMI(P=0.009) were significantly positively related toL1-44BMC (R=0.759, Radj2=0.545, P=0.000 <0.01), and heightplayed the pivotal roles in significant correlation with L144BMC(R =0. 676 Radj2 = 0. 439, P = 0. 000) . Body mass significantly positivelycorrelated with both L-44BMD ( R = 0. 657, Radj2 = 0. 412, P = 0. 000)and L1-4BMAD (R=0.551, Radj2=0.280, P=0.001) .Therefore, height as well as BMI significantly positively correlated with L144BMC andmass was definitely associated with both L1-4BMD and L1-4BMAD in ado-lescents with early AS in this study. Conclusion Height and mass couldhave significantly positive effects on axial bone mass and densities ofadolescents with early AS.

Objective:To evaluate our self-designed novel guide device for cannulated screwing in the treatment of femoral neck fracture. Methods:Between June 2019 and July 2020, 40 patients with femoral neck fracture were treated with cannulated screwing at Department of Orthopaedics, The Second Hospital Affiliated to Shanxi Medical University. They were divided into a manual group of 20 cases whose cannulated screwing was implemented by hand and a guide group of 20 cases whose cannulated screwing was implemented with the aid of our self-designed guide device. In the guide group, there were 5 males and 15 females, with an age of (48.4±10.2) years (from 18 to 63 years); there were 12 cases of types Ⅰ & Ⅱ and 8 cases of types Ⅲ & Ⅳ by the Garden classification. In the manual group, there were 8 males and 12 females, with an age of (49.8±8.4) years (from 18 to 60 years); there were 13 cases of types Ⅰ & Ⅱ and 7 cases of types Ⅲ & Ⅳ by the Garden classification. All fractures underwent closed reduction and internal fixation with 3 cannulated screws. The intraoperative fluoroscopy, operation time, femoral cortex drilling, angle between the guide pin and the femoral neck axis in the anteroposterior view, angle between the guide pin and the femoral neck axis in the lateral view, fracture healing time, Harris hip score and complications were compared between the 2 groups. Results:There was no significant difference in the preoperative general data between the 2 groups, showing comparability ( P>0.05). In the guide group, intraoperative fluoroscopy [(10.0±2.2) times], operation time [(41.8±5.6) min], femoral cortex drilling [(4.5±1.1) times], angle between the guide pin and the femoral neck axis in the anteroposterior view (3.0°±0.8°) angle between the guide pin and the femoral neck axis in the lateral view (3.9°±1.0°) and fracture healing time [(6.2±0.5) months] were significantly less or smaller than those in the manual group [(24.8±8.3) times, (60.0±15.3) min, (12.8±2.0) times, 7.2°±1.8°, 7.6°±2.6°, and (7.2±0.5) months] (all P<0.05). There was no significant difference in Harris hip score between the 2 groups ( P>0.05). None of the patients had wound infection, internal fixation displacement, fracture nonunion or screw breakage. Conclusions:Application of our self-designed guide device can shorten operation time, improve accuracy of needle insertion, and reduce drilling attempts in the femoral cortex, making cannulated screwing easier for femoral neck fractures.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the correlation between Shigella flexneri multi-drug resistance and drug resistance gene cassette of integrons.
METHODAll 79 strains of Shigella flexneri were isolated from the feces of children ranged in age from 6 months to 14 years in some hospitals of Jinan, between May 2009 and April 2012.The resistance was detected by Kirby Bauer agar diffusion method, 1, 2 and 3 integron gene was amplified by PCR, the variable region of positive strains treated with enzyme digestion and determined by Series Analysis.
RESULTAmong 79 Shigella flexneri strains, the resistance rate was 91% (72/79) to ampicillin, chloramphenicol, tetracycline, streptomycin, 70% (55/79) to sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim, 30% (24/79), 23% (18/79), 33% (26/79) and 32% (25/79) to cefotaxime, ceftazidime, ciprofloxacin and levofloxacin. All 79 strains were susceptible to cefoxitin, imipenem, cefoperazone/sulbactam. The common drug resistance pattern is ampicillin tetracycline-chloramphenicol-streptomycin, accounted for 91% (72/79); 91% (72/79) strains carried integrons of class 1, 86% (68/79) strains carried integrons of class 2, No intI3 was detected. The resistance to ampicillin, streptomycin, tetracycline, chloramphenicol of atypical class 1 integron positive strains was significantly higher than the negative strains (χ² = 35.96, P<0.01). The sequencing results:dfrV was detected in class 1 integron variable regions of 9 strains, dfrA17-aadA5 in 2 strains, blaOXA-30-aadA1 in 70 strains, 2 strains were not detected resistance gene cassette, all resistance gene cassettes were dfrA1-sat1-aadA1 in class 2 integron variable regions.
CONCLUSIONThe muti-drug resistance of Shigella flexneri in Jinan was closely associated with integrons.
