Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2006;4(3):156-158
Objective: Investigate the curative effect of acupuncture on dysphasia in hypophrenia children. Methods: One hundred and sixty children with hypophrenia and dysphasia were randomly divided into an acupuncture group of 80 cases, a language training group of 40 cases and a composite group of 40 cases for clinical observation. Total intelligence quotient (TIQ), vocal intelligence quotient (VIQ) and practical intelligence quotient (PIQ) were compared between pretreatment and posttreatment in the children themselves and between the groups before and after treatment. Results: The total efficacy rate was 77.5% in the acupuncture group, 82.5% in the composite group and 52.5% in the language training group. Conclusion: Acupuncture significantly raises TIQ, VIQ and PIQ in the sick children. Language training only raises VIQ to some degree.Acupuncture in cooperation with language training is an effective way to treat this disease.

Objective To evaluate mid-term clinical result of drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation for patients with multivessel chronic total coronary occlusion (CTO) lesions. Methods We analyzed 89 patients who underwent interventional revascularization in their multivessel CTO lesions with DES from November 2002 to June 2005 (DES group). A control group was composed of 70 consecutive patients with multivessel CTO lesions treated with bare metal stents (BMS) from November 2000 to June 2003 (BMS group). Results There were no significant differences in basic clinical manifestations and success rate of intervention procedures between DES and BMS group. At 6-month follow-up, the cumulative rate of major adverse cardiac events (MACE) was 14.6% in the DES group and 28.6% in the BMS group (P=0.031). The incidence of restenosis was 16.9% in the DES group and 34.3% in the BMS group (P=0.011). The need for target vessel revascularization and target lesion revascularization in the DES group was significantly lower (9.0% vs 21.4%, P=0.003, and 7.9% vs 18.6%, P=0.043, respectively) compared with BMS group. Conclusion It is possible to obtain an ideal mid-term clinical outcome in patients with multivessel CTO lesions by DES implantation.

Objective To investigate the fermentation conditions for the heat-labile enterotoxin B subunit (LTB) of genetic recombinant E.coli. Methods The effects of different kinds of media, the range of pH, the induction time, the glucose concentration, and the fed-batch on LTB level in 10-liter fermenter under the condition of cascade controlling dissolved oxygen content were analyzed. Results Under the established conditions, the cell output per liter was 40.5g, and the expression level was 30.6%. Conclusion The results indicate that the stable fermentation technology with high efficiency has been established.

Objective To explore the clinical therapeutic effects in arterial interventional therapy in early osteosarcoma patients. Methods Thirty-eight early osteosarcoma patients received arterial chemoembolization therapies and performed operations.94.7% patients received limb salvage surgeries.Levels of alkaline phosphatase were tested in preoperative and postoperative phases. Results Levels of postoperativealkaline phosphatase[average(191.7±107.0)U/L]were significantly decreased compared with that before interventional therapy[average(1129.1±572.3)U/J.The survival rate in follow-up at 1,3 and 5 years Was97%,79%,50% respectively. The rate of recurrence and metastasis WAg 24%.Conclusions Arterialchemoembolization therapies in patients with early osteosarcoma could improve clinical symptoms effectively, enhance survival rate, relieve recurrence and metastasis, remain affected extremity. The clinical thempeutic effects of iodinated oil were the best among the three embolism materials.

Objective To study the feasibility of noninvasive detection of unstable plaques with ~(18)F-Fluorodeoxyglu-cose (~(18)F-FDG) PET/CT imaging. Methods Atherosclerotic plaques were induced in male New Zealand white rabbits. Animals were injected with FDG labeled with ~(18)F, then examined with PET/CT. Aorta was explanted for photography with digital camera, and ~(18)F-FDG uptake analysis. Thirty unstable plaques and 30 stable plaques were choosed so as to compare the quantitativly ~(18)F-FDG uptake. The number of macrophages and smooth muscle cells was detected by immunohistochemical technique. Results Experimental group showed inconsistent uptake of ~(18)F-FDG in the abdominal aorta. The results were confirmed in the ex vivo digital photo of the explanted aorta. The target to non target ratio (T/NT) and macrophages of unstable plaques were higher than stable plaques (P<0.01) , but smooth muscle cells obviously reduced (P <0. 01). Correlation analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between T/NT and macrophage content (r=0. 815,P<0. 01), and a negative correlation between T/NT and SMC content(r=-0. 684,P <0. 01). Conclusion ~(18)F-FDG PET/CT can constitute an attractive imaging method for the noninvasive detection of experimental unstable plaques.

Objective To introduce arthroscopic technique in managing patellar subluxation and its clinical results. Methods Between Jan. 2004 and Jun. 2007, 17 patients suffered from patellar subluxation underwent arthroscopic surgery in Xijing Hospital. The key points of our technique are lateral retinaculum release and medial retinaculum shrinking suture. Tibial tuberosity was translated medially and elevated in 2 patients by osteotomy. The average age of all patients was (21.5?4.9) years (range 10 to 28). The patients suffering from patellar subluxation averaged (23.1?13.0) months (range 7 to 50) before operation. They were followed up for average (18.0?6.2) months (range 6 to 24). The Lysholm score before and after operation was compared in all patients. Results Fifteen of total 17 patients were followed up, and no recurrence was found. Lysholm score of 17 patients was significantly higher after operation than that before operation (t=5.63, P

AIM: To establish a method of simultaneously determining 5 components in Muxiang Fenqi Pill(Flos Caryophylli,Radix Aucklandiae,Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis). METHODS: Five components :eugenol,(costunolide),dehydrocostuslactone, magnolol and honokiol in Muxiang Fenqi Pill were determined simultaneously by HPLC,using a Kromasil C_(18) column(250 mm?4.6 mm,5.0 ?m),acetonitrile-menthanol-water(50∶8∶42) as a mobile phase. The detection wavelength was at 210 nm. RESULTS: The relationship between the concentrations and the peak areas of eugenol, costunolide, dehydrocostuslactone, magnolol and honokiol were linear respectively. The RSD of precision, repeatability and recovery were all less than 1.5%. CONCLUSION: The method is simultaneous determination for five components in Muxiang Fenqi Pill, and can be applied to the quality control of Muxiang Fenqi Pill.

Objective To study the effect of Yiqihuoxue Paishiyin combined with levofloxacin on renal calculus and inflammatory state. Methods 76 patients with kidney stones in our hospital from February 2015 to September 2016 were selected as the study object, and they were divided into control group 38 cases and observation group 38 cases by the method of random number table, then the control group were treated with levofloxacin, the observation group were treated with supplementing qi,promoting blood circulation and removing stones combined with levofloxacin, then the clinical effective rates, serum fever and pain related inflammatory factors before and after the treatment of two groups were analyzed .Results The total effective rates of observation group with different stone diameters and stone locations were all higher than those of control group, the serum fever and pain related inflammatory factors at different time after the treatment were all lower than those of control group , the differences were all significant ( P <0.05 ) . Conclusion Yiqihuoxue Paishiyin combined with levofloxacin treatment of kidney stones in patients with significant effect , can effectively control the body's inflammatory state, improve the level of inflammatory factors.
