Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
It is common in bacterial genomes of the integration of prophages. As an important participant of the vital movement of their hosts, prophages affect closely the biological properties of the hosts. Therefore, if we want to comprehend a bacterial genome fully, it is essential to recognize and understand accurately prophages in it. This article is a compendious review about the classification, distribution, identification, evolution of prophages and the interaction with their hosts.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of parecoxib sodium for preemptive analgesia. Methods PubMed,EMBASE,Cochrane Library, and CNKI database were searched for randomized placebo-controlled trials involving the efficacy of parecoxib sodium for preemptive analgesia. The modified Jadad scale was used for quality assessment.Evaluation indexes included VAS scores at 1,6,12 and 24 h after operation, consumption of morphine within 24 h after operation, and incidences of nausea and vomiting after operation.Meta-analysis was conducted using the Cochrane Collaboration's RevMan 5.0.2 software. Results Fourteen randomized placebo-controlled trials involving 1086 patients were included in our meta-analysis.The modified Jadad scale scores for the 14 studies were ≥ 4.The patients were divided into 2 groups:placebo group and parecoxib sodium 40 mg injected before operation group. The results of meta-analysis showed that VAS scores at 1,6,12 and 24 h after operation were significantly decreased, the consumption of morphine within 24 h after operation was reduced, and the incidences of nausea and vomiting after operation were decreased in parecoxib sodium 40 mg injected before operation group as compared with placebo group (P < 0.05).Conclusion Intravenous injection of parecoxib sodium 40 mg before operation can produce significant preemptive analgesic efficacy and is helpful in decreasing the adverse effect of postoperative analgesia.

Objective To study the clinical application of the lung lesion biopsy through helical CT-guided fine needle aspiration. Methods 44 cases of lung lesions were pathologically biopsy diagnosed through helical CT-guided fine needle aspiration. Results All 44 lung lesions were successfully conducted biopsy through CT-guided fine needle aspiration, and the pathological confirmed diagnosis rate was 98%. Conclusion With high diagnosis rate, CT- fine needle aspiration is clinically applicable and the complication is rare. It is easily-operated, safe and economical.

This article aimed to study the antigenicity of nucleocapsid proteins (NPs) in six pathogenic phleboviruses and to provide theoretical evidence for the development of serological diagnostic reagents. NPs of six pathogenic phleboviruses were expressed and purified using a prokaryotic expression system and rabbits were immunized with individual recombinant NPs. Cross-reactions among NPs and rabbit sera were determined by both indirect ELISA and Western blotting analyses, and the sera titer was determined by indirect ELISA. Furthermore, sera from SFTS patients were also detected by each recombinant NP as a coating antigen using indirect ELISA. The cross-reactions and the sera titer were subsequently determined. Both the concentration and purity of recombinant NPs of six pathogenic phleboviruses met the standards for immunization and detection. The results of indirect ELISA and Western blotting showed that each anti-phlebovirus NP rabbit immune serum had potential serological cross-reactivity with the other five virus NP antigens. Furthermore, the sera from SFTS patients also had cross-reactivity with the other five NP antigens to a certain extent. Our preliminary study evaluated the antigenicity and immune reactivity of six pathogenic phleboviruses NPs and laid the foundation for the development of diagnostic reagents.

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of suberselective uterine arterial embolization for uterine fibroids. Methods Uterine arterial embolization with golyvimylalcohol(PVA) particles or Iodized oil and Gelfoam or Pingyangmycin lipiodol and Gelfoam was performed in 182 patients with uterine fibroids. Results Bilateral and unilateral superselective uterine arterial embolization were performed in 173 cases and 9 cases respectively. 6~28 months (mean 11 months) after the procedure, complete disappearance of tumor(16 cases), an average shinkage of 67% in tumor volume(152 cases) and a mean 42% reduction of uterine volume were obtained in 168 followed-up cases. The clinical symptoms were relieved significantly. The main side effets were hypogastic pain(135/182).Conclusion Superselection uterine arterial embolization is an effective and microinvasive method in treating uterine fibroids.

Ergosta-4,6,8(14),22-tetraen-3-one (ergone) is one of main components in many medicinal fungi. Ergone has been reported to possess the activities of diuresis, cytotoxicity, antitumor, immunosuppression, as well as treatment of chronic kidney disease. According to reported literatures, an overview of spectroscopy characteristics, content determination, pharmacological activity and pharmacokinetics, etc. for ergone is presented in this review. Furthermore, the present review can provide a certain reference value for the further study and development of ergone.

Objective To evaluate the effects of different doses of lidocaine on suppressing fentanyl-induced cough and determine a safe suppressing dose. Methods Two hundred patients undergoing general anesthesia were randomized to four groups evenly. The following medications were given within ten seconds:normal saline 10ml (groupⅠ,control group),lidocaine 1 mg/kg (groupⅡ),lidoeaine 1.5 mg/kg(groupⅢ),lidocaine 2mg/kg (groupⅣ).Toxic symptoms of lidocaine were recorded within lmin after the administration of lidocaine, then fentanyl 3?g/ kg was given intravenously within 5 seconds.Cough incidence and cough grade were recorded within 2rain after the administration of fentanyl.Systolic blood pressure (SBP),diastolic blood pressure (DBP),heart rates (HR),and satu- ration of pulse oximeter(SpO2) were recorded during different time points of induction, all recorded data were anal- ysed by the statistical software,P value

Chinese Journal of Urology 2001;0(06):-
Objective To evaluate the serum prostate specific antigen(PSA)change after I-125 radioactive seed implantation without androgen ablation therapy for prostate cancer,Methods A total of 13 patients with prostate cancer were included. The clinical stage was T_(1c)N_0M_0 in 8 cases, and T_(2a)N_0M_0 in 5. The Gleason scores were 5 in 4 cases and 6 in 9.The mean serum PSA was 8.2 ng/ml(range,2.8-14.6 ng/ml).I-125 seed implantation(D90=140-155 Gy)was performed.Serum PSA was monitored every month for the first 3 months and every 3 months for the next 20 months. Results The range of follow-up time was 3-23 months. At 1,2,3,6,9,12,15,18 and 21 months after implantation, the median serum PSA values were 6.7,5.0,2.7,1.6,1.2,0.9,0.8,0.8 and 0.7 ng/ml;and the median percentage change in ser- um PSA were 72%,51%,29%,20%,13%,11%,9%,9% and 8%,respectively.One month after brachy- therapy,30% of the patients had fluctuation in PSA.Conclusions Compared with radical prostatectomy and androgen ablation therapy, the rate of PSA decline is slower with fluctuation at early phase. The most sig- nificant decline of PSA occurs in the first 12 months, especially in the first 3 months after I-125 seed implan- tation.
