Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2009;18(12):1132-1134
Objective To develop a new instrument, the resilience scale for military personnel, and examine its reliability and validity. Methods The resilience scale for military personnel was compiled according to open-ended inventory survey . The sample consisted of 860 soldiers, 50 of them were re-tested with the new scale, another 80 tested by Chinese Military Mental Health Scale (CMMHS) at the same time. Factor analysis and Pearson's correlations were used to examine the reliability and validity of the resilience scale for military personnel. Results Based on factor analysis result, 5 factors were extracted, and added 1 lie factor, there were 32 items in theformal scale. The the Cronbach'α of total scale was 0.925, and subscales 0.597~0.810(P<0.01) , split-half reliability was 0.895 of total scale, and 0.384~0.739 of subscales (P < 0.01) ; retest reliability was 0.447 of total scale, and 0.494~0.658 of subscales(P<0.01 or P<0.05). The correlation was significant between the factors of this scale and factors of CMMHS. Conclusion The resilience scale for military personnel has good reliability and validity. The resilience scale has good psychological quality and proves to be applicable to Chinese military personnel in evaluating their resilience.

5.Research Progress on Chloroquine Resistance in Plasmodium falciparum and Resistance Reversal Agent
Chinese Journal of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases 1987;0(02):-
Emergence and broad spread of chloroquine resistance urge human beings to change drug policy in malaria control and to find more effective new drugs. Nevertheless, chloroquine is still used in the treatment of falciparum malaria in some poor endemic regions due to economic and development reasons. It should be of great significance to un-derstand the mechanism of chloroquine resistance and find the way to reverse it in order to bring chloroquine with high efficacy and low cost back to the first line of the combat to malaria. Advent and development of resistance reversal agents provide a new clue for this purpose. When used together with chloroquine, it can partly restore the efficacy of chloroquine in resistant Plasmodium falciparum. The article summarizes the research progress on chloroquine resistance in P. falciparum and resistance reversers.
6.In vitro Potentiation of Chloroquine Activity in Plasmodium falciparum by Ketotifen and Cyproheptadine
Chinese Journal of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases 1997;0(05):-
Objective To study the potentiation of chloroquine activity and mechanism by ketotifen and cyproheptadine in in vitro cultured Plasmodium falciparum Fcc SM1/yN strain. Methods In vitro cultured Fcc SM1/yN strain was added to pre-prepared drug plates at 50 ?l/well after synchronization to make final concentration of 0.312 5-2 560 nmol/L for chloroqine and of 9.80-5 000 nmol/L for ketotifen or cyproheptadine. After 34 hours' culture in 37 ℃, the number of schizonts with 3 or more nuclei was calculated among 200 parasites under microscope. Calculated half inhibitive concentration ( IC50 ) of chloroquine and every drug combination to parasite as well as chloroquine activity enhancement index ( AEI) of ketotifen (or cyproheptadin) . Time dependency of potentiation was studied. All data were analyzed statistically with SPSS 13.0. After 20 hours' action of one optimal combination dose of chloroquine/ketotifen or chloroquine/cyproheptadine, RNA of the Fcc SM1/yN strain was extracted and real-time PCR was used to determine the expression level of pfcrt and pfmdr1 genes. Results The best potentiation effect was observed with ketotifen or cyproheptadine of 625 nmol/L, with IC50 of 74.53 nmol/L for chloroquine/ketotifen and 89.7 nmol/L for chloroquine/cyproheptadine respectively, and activity enhancement index (AEI) of 0.42 for chloroquine/ketotifen and 0.30 for chloroquine/cyproheptadine respectively. Combination of 625 nmol/Lketotifen or cyproheptadine with 5 nmol/L chloroquine showed the highest potentiation potency. 6-7 hours during which ketotifen or cyproheptadine was added after chloroquine showed the highest effect, with IC50 of 67.70 nmol/L for chloroquine/ketotifen and 81.53 nmol/L for chloroquine/cyproheptadine respectively, and the AEI was 0.47 for chloroquine/ketotifen and 0.37 for chloroquine/cyproheptadine respectively. After action of chloroquine/ketotifen or chloroquine/ cyproheptadine at one optimal combination dose, expression level of pfcrt gene increased by 91% and that of pfmdr1 gene decreased by 14% respectively. Conclusion Appropriate combination of chloroquine/ketotiphen or chloroquine/ cyproheptadine potentiates chloroquine against in vitro cultured P. falciparum. 6-7 hour period is an optimal time when ketotifen or cyproheptadine was added after chloroquine. Potentiating activity of ketotifen and cyproheptadine may be related to the expression level of pfcr t and pfmdr1 genes.

International Eye Science 2014;(8):1498-1501
AIM: To comprehensively investigate the current status of cataract surgery in Leshan city, and find the existing problems according to the survey results as a guide to cataract prevention and treatment in future.
METHODS: We surveyed the status of cataract surgery containing equipments, surgeons and surgery conditions in 17 ophthalmology departments of general hospitals from Leshan including 6 counties, 1 county-level city and 4 districts during 2012. Cataract surgery methods, according to various surgery financial resources, surgical performances and surgical incision, were divided into phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation ( Phaco + IOL ) , extracapsular cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation ( ECCE + IOL ) , and each method contained 2 groups. We analyzed the outcomes following preoperative examination, surgeons, surgical methods, surgical equipments, types of IOL, surgical quantity, surgical results, and intraoperative complication.
RESULTS: In whole city there were 16 operating microscopes, 43 slit lamp microscopes, 12 non-contact tonometers, 1 intraocular lens Master, 8 optical A/B type ultrasonic examination systems, 4 YAG lasers and 12 phacoemulsification instruments. There 15 doctors could complete cataract surgery independently, and 5 of them were phacoemulsification surgeons. The total number of completed cataract surgeries reached 6 211 eyes, containing 3 564 eyes for Phaco+IOL ( 57%) ( preoperative visual acuity ≥0. 3 in Phaco+IOL1 were 1 520 eyes, 24%) and 2 647 eyes for ECCE+IOL ( 43%) ( 1 533 eyes in ECCE+IOL1, 25%). In various groups, off-blindness rate was 94. 80%-100%, off-disability rate was 90. 41%-100%, and 94. 96% - 100% received intraocular lens implantation, intraoperative complication rate was 1. 00%-15. 10%.
CONCLUSION: The distribution of surgeons and equipments in the whole city is unbalanced, and the utilization rate of phaco equipment is low. The levels are different in various hospitals on surgical technique, surgical quantity and surgical results. Phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation is considered as the main therapy for cataract, and as a transition to dioptric and personalized cataract surgery. The surgical condition of the city is good, but the proportion of cataract surgery for prevention of blindness in Leshan city is low, and the surgical technique remains to be further improved.
